When will En Masse Entertainment shut down their servers? • EME will shut down their servers on 9th November 2020 (15:59 UTC).
Which build version will the NA servers launch with? • The NA Servers will be launched with Build 99.
Will TERA Battle Arena be available when the NA servers are open? • TERA Battle Arena will not be available right away with the opening of the servers, but it will be added soon after the service starts. There will be an official announcement when it's time.
Will anything change regarding the 2 current servers that NA has? • Gameforge will keep the current server structure that NA has, so everything should be the same as before. Please note that we will rename the servers from Velika to Velik and from Kaiator to Kaia
Do players get to keep their progress to date? • Yes, players get to keep all their progress as well as their items. Please note that a small number of items might have different content or won’t work anymore after the transfer (e.g. Elite subscription item). • The Strongbox Keys will be converted into EU Strongbox Keys which can be used to open only EU Strongboxes. If you still have unopened NA Strongboxes, we'd advise you to open them before the server closes.
Will all my current characters be transferred? • Yes, all characters will be transferred.
Do I keep all the character slots I currently have? • Yes, but please bear in mind that the number of character slots you have might not be displayed correctly during the initial weeks.
What will happen to my guild/bank/wardrobe/friends list/Buddy-Up codes? • The guild, bank, wardrobe and friends list remain unchanged. • Old Buddy-Up codes can no longer be used.
Will characters and guilds keep their names? • Yes.
What will happen to my Elite Status (called TERA Club in EU)? • Players who had an active Elite subscription on the NA servers will enjoy TERA Club benefits on our servers as well. • The remaining subscription time will be carried over from EME. • The Elite subscription voucher items will not work on EU servers, so please use all of these items before the server shuts down.
! Please note that some text for items or descriptions may be missing or not finalized at the start of the service.
What happens to the premium currency (EMP) I still have on the NA servers? • EMP will be transferred at a rate of 100 EMP = 10 Tera Thalers for all players that had a purchase history with EME and that complete the migration process. As a special migration bonus, players will also receive an additional bonus of 30% in TT. • Players who have only owned free EMP (through events for example) are advised to spend their currency before the servers shut down, as the EMP from those players will not be transferred.
Will the TERA Club subscription and TERA Thaler Balance be shared across EU and NA? • No, since the EU and NA systems are completely separate from each other, TERA Club subscription and TERA Thaler Balance will also be separate.
Will my existing Founder Status be kept? • Your existing Founder Status will be kept, but please note that NA players won’t have founder status if they start a character on an EU/SEA Server.
Will account-bound items be kept? • This is currently not planned so players are advised to claim as many of these items as they need before the server closes.
Do I need to do prepare anything before the EME servers close? • Please claim all items in your item claim, item broker, mailbox and guild bank before the server shuts down, as unclaimed items may be lost otherwise. • Please also make sure to exchange all your token items before the server shuts down as some of them might have different content or won’t work anymore afterwards.

Can players transfer between the NA servers and EU servers and vice versa? • While character transfers between the 2 different NA servers will be possible, transferring to an EU server will not. Transferring from an EU server to a NA server will also not be possible.
Can NA players play in instances with EU players? • No, the NA servers will have their own dungeon server and will not be connected to the EU servers.
What happens to my TERA Rewards Levels? • The Rewards-System was an EME-unique system that is not available in any other TERA region. As such, it unfortunately won’t be possible to transfer any progress or status for this. • However, as a token of appreciation for players who have supported TERA for such a long time, players within the following level ranges will receive special one-time rewards:
What will happen to my guild in case the guild leader does not migrate? • In case a guild leader is inactive for a long period of time and the migration time is over, the second player in the guild ranking can contact our support team to change the leadership.
Will TERA Boutique Coins (Meruma's Deluxe Fashion Shop Coin) change or be removed? • TERA Boutique coins also exist in the EU version (Meruma's Deluxe Fashion Shop Coin) and will continue to work. There might be small differences though, such as the content of the token store or the amount of tokens you receive for dismantling items.
What will happen to the temporary banks we have from past NA merges? • We can't confirm as of now whether temporary bank slots will be kept. To make sure that nothing gets lost we would strongly recommend to move the items in those to other places.
Why am I getting a message 'An error has occurred please try again later' while trying to launch the game:
The servers will only open on 12th of November. Therefore, getting an error message while trying to launch the game earlier is possible.
Migration Questions
When does the migration start? • The migration will start on 22nd October 2020.
Who has to do the migration? • All players that wish to continue playing TERA will have to migrate regardless of whether you played on the EME Client or on Steam.
How does the migration work? • In order to begin the migration process, please visit the migration website of En Masse Entertainment and login with your EME credentials. • You will then be forwarded to Gameforge’s migration website. • There you will need to create a new Gameforge account or sign in with an existing one. • If you also played TERA on Steam, your Steam linking will automatically be transferred as well.
Can I also migrate directly via the Steam client? • Migration over the Steam client won’t be possible before 12th November 2020.
Until when can I migrate my account? • The migration will be possible until 18th December 2020.
Is there any reason to migrate as soon as possible? • Yes, players that successfully migrate between 22nd October and 12th November will receive an Atlantic Swimwear Smartbox, a Black Bear pet and useful consumables. • Please keep in mind that migrating to Gameforge is the only way to ensure that you will be able to keep playing TERA with your existing account after 18th December. If you don’t migrate before that date, your game account will be lost forever, so please consider migrating as soon as possible.
How do I actually start playing once the NA servers are live and I successfully migrated? • If you want to play via the Gameforge Client, download the client and sign in with your Gameforge account details. Download and install TERA on your PC and you are ready to go! :!: Please remember to make sure that the client is set on the correct region. You can find more information regarding the Client here: TERA on Gameforge Client • If you want to play on Steam, you will be able to download the GF TERA App on Steam (https://store.steampowered.com/app/212740/TERA/) starting on November 12th 2020. Simply download, install it and click on the Play button to start playing!
Will players be able to migrate their EME account in case they already have a Gameforge account? • Yes, you will be able to migrate your EME account into your existing Gameforge account. Please refer to the question "How does the migration work?" (mentioned above) for more details.
Please check this thread often, as we will keep updating it.
We wanted to make every actor feel like a real person, assuring a unique experience with each one. In order to achieve this, we implemented the 'personality' system.
ACQUIRING TRAITS
Each new actor will already come with a random personality, however, personality traits can be acquired via random events. So, for example, when an actor has a new baby, they will become a parent. In other unfortunate cases, actors may acquire challenging traits such as addiction or paranoia.
EFFECT OF TRAITS
Personality traits will unlock random events that can only be triggered if an actor has a specific trait or set of traits.
This variety of personalities will keep you on your toes while at the same time set clear expectations. After all, if you hire a known Party Animal, it's just a matter of time before they trash a hotel room, and it'll be your job as an agent to deal with the consequences!
MODDING
Traits and events are one of the many things that are also moddable, so we're looking forward to seeing what our twisted community comes up with.
It’s the start of a new chapter in Arborea: Gameforge is the new publisher of TERA on the continent of America! We’re delighted to welcome our American players, who we’ve set up dedicated servers for: this move will be a cakewalk! Of course, you’ll be able to bring your hero and game progress to the new server with you. After the move you’ll simply continue your adventure with Gameforge.
All players who bring their current account from En Masse Entertainment to Gameforge can look forward to a little welcome gift! There’s also the new TERA Battle Arena – a brand-new PvP challenge – coming your way as well as exclusive Gameforge features such as awesome Nightmare Dungeons and exciting events!
The migration is planned to start on October 22 while the new servers are scheduled to open on November 12.
If you want to find out more, take a look at our FAQ and keep your eyes open for further news with detailed info about the move and how it’s going to unfold.
Dim the lights, grab the headphones, and investigate a surreal world of subconscious memories and thoughts. We are excited for you to experience The Signifier, available today!
It's update time again, an update that jumped the queue and made it in before our planned one in a couple of weeks. As we mentioned in our last news post, we wanted to get a more challenging alternative to Campaign into the game ASAP, and here it is!
Campaign Plus can be selected at the start of the Campaign, or toggled on and off at any time on the Campaign screen. Put simply; it turns every mission into a fixed puzzle. We've set up a par turn count per job, and locked a card layout. If you can't get a mission done in the turn limit we set, you'll fail and have to restart. This mode encourages power use and tests your skills, so is intended primarily for folks on their second play-through, or for whom the campaign feels too easy. We hope you'll dig it!
Bug Fixes
Some minor ones across the board, but nothing major to report. Please continue to let us know if you run into anything... odd.
New Features
Campaign Plus: Play puzzle variants of all campaign missions.
Full localization added for this and previous update's content.
Planned Features for Next Update
(I still need to take that break, so this should be dropping in a couple of weeks)
It’s time to kick the Reconstruction up a notch! Your hard work and dedication in gathering nails, screws, and planks has accumulated enough materials for the next stage of the Realm rework. Listed in these patch notes you will find the new features and improvements we were able to come up with for the second phase of Month of the Mad God!
New Vault UI
We know you’ve been waiting for this one! Starting with today’s release, you will notice quite a change when entering your Vault. The first thing you will see, along with the updated aesthetics, is that all your vault chests have been rolled into one. Don’t worry, all your belongings are still in there!
You would no longer have to cycle from chest to chest anymore. With all your items at the same place and thanks to the search and filtering options in the new Vault UI, it will now be easier and faster than ever to find what you’re looking for. The same goes for the Gift Chest too!
Premium Vault
In addition to the above, the Premium Vault is now available for you to store your potions in. Not only will it be easier to access them, but this way you will also have more slots available in your Vault for the rest of your items.
Players start with 16 available Premium Vault slots and are able to expand to 64 total slots at first. After that an upgrade is available to a total of 128 slots, then 192 slots. The last tier of expansion grants 256 total slots for your potions. Each upgrade would cost 500 gold with a maximum of 2000 for the most amount of slots.
New XP Distribution
As you may know, this month we will be making significant changes to the overall XP and fame system. The goal of redoing this deeply outdated system is to give players more options to obtain fame (both alive and dead) as well as provide a better sense of progression throughout a character’s life.
As a first step for this update, we have updated XP values across the game to create a more consistent curve. That means the majority of dungeon enemies, bosses, and encounters have received a major XP buff which will make alive fame easier to earn than before. We’ve also increased the Quest XP Multiplier — which allows quests to give more XP than the level cap normally allows — from 1.6 times to 2 times. This should make levelling faster and more consistent overall.
Another aspect that’s coming with this update is equipment’s fame bonus has been replaced with a passive XP bonus. This means that equipment bonus will now increase the amount of XP you get for every monster kill while equipped, rather than be a part of the fame bonuses at death. Because of this, we’ve removed the Well Equipped fame bonus ahead of the full fame bonus rework.
The final part of the fame rework we are adding today is a brand new dungeon completion system, similar to Exaltations. The completion of a dungeon will now be based on a boss kill rather than exiting the portal. Just like Exaltations, you will need to deal soulbound damage for the kill to be counted (which is practically any amount of damage). We’ve made a few minor behind the scenes adjustments to some dungeons to make sure they work with the new system.
We hope you enjoy the additions we are bringing to you today and are looking forward to the remaining fame changes coming later this month! If you’re eager to get more info ahead of time on the fame bonus rework, check out last week’s blog if you haven’t already!

We are working on a hot fix coming as soon as possible to deal with some crashes on start up, rejoining parties and on shutdown. This patch will also have a fix for the "locked in map" issue. We don't have an exact date and time but its in test right now. In the mean time if you are hitting issues please use the FAQ trouble shooting guide and keep pinging up messages on what you are finding.
On the back end we have already pushed out an update to the Apex Connect Server. Version 6.1.9 is deployed which includes some optimizations with loading the policies, fixes to twitch entitlements sometimes not paying out.
We also have a much bigger QOL (quality of life) patch getting ready to go into test. This patch fixes a huge host of different sized issues. More info on the contents and timeline for this sweet patch will be with you real soon.
