There was in fact a small but nasty bug with yesterday's patch, so I'm glad I sent it to beta. The character creator wasn't working properly, so I fixed that along with several other reports, and will once again push this to beta for safety before pushing it to the live branch.
In all honestly I accidentally merged some of the beta content that I was working on into this patch, so early surprise kind of thing, though still a bit of a work in progress. Basically, summoning circles, which are used to summon town NPCs into custom built buildings, have been expanded to work for all types of NPCs, rather than only those with facilities. This functionality has been added to the summoning circles themselves, and they will now tell you what you need to summon the NPC you are trying to summon. I've also changed how it used to do a "flood fill" check on the building to see if it was a completely enclosed house, to a much more lenient system where it simply requires that the building be made up of at least 30 building pieces, including walls, floor, ceiling, etc.. This system is still a bit of a work in progress, mainly in that the reposition/position functions will not save the custom building, instead reverting back to the default town building, but not so alarmingly different that I need to keep it off the live branch until further developed.

1.20 Overview!

Procedural Adventures! It’s easy to underestimate militia units for being under-equipped or poorly trained. The good thing about explosives, however, is they only have to be thrown in an enemy's general direction!
With the high ground on their side, the Zykalian Militia can be a highly effective deterrent during siege battles. Their grenades might light them up as a target for enemy archers, but when stationed on the battlements, they're a great counter against sword units ascending the walls beneath them!
Unlocking
You will be able to command a Zykalian Militia unit temporarily after completing one series of Season V unit challenges. The unit will become permanently yours after finishing a second stage (along with any XP the unit may have earned along the way). Complete Stage 3 to receive a haul of Unit Medals, and Stage 4 to secure a Doctrine that increases the unit’s ammo reserves.

Gameplay
More so than other specialist ranged units, Zykalian Militia should never be deployed as a frontline force. Even Tenent Farmers would make short work of them. The best place for them is high upon a defensive wall, as their short throwing range makes it difficult to protect them in an open battle. They also have limited reserves of ammunition, so it's advisable to position them close to a resupply point.
Progression
Zykalian Militia have a maximum unit level of 16, with Veterancy Points investable across two branches. The top branch generally works to increase the effectiveness of the unit’s fire attack and reduce the cooldown timer, while the lower branch improves supply levels, movement, and range. The latter may be useful if you envisage deploying the unit in open battles more often than for siege engagements.
