After plumbing the depths of PlayStations for a fortnight, Spelunky 2 arrived on PC today. Grab your whip and hat, and hit the Moon to explore new dungeons full of monsters, treasures, and ways to die while doing something you initially thought was quite clever. Online multiplayer isn’t in at launch, mind, so you’ll have to before you can experience the comfort/mischief/catastrophe of playing with a pal not within punching distance.
Spelunky 1 felt so precision engineered, so complete, so perfect, that the announcement of Spelunky 2 seemed like the reveal of a new wrist watch. If it had a fancier strap and more cogs, at best, I’d still just be hoping that it told me the correct time.
Frontier Developments today announced that they’ll soon give the Elite Dangerous expansion Horizons free to all players, letting everyone roll around planets in spacecars before the next upcoming expansion invites us to walk on them with our own two spacefeet. The Horizons season pass has covered almost five years of new features, including character customisation, the ability to pilot ships cooperatively with a crew, and those spacecars. It has cost £20/€25/$30 (though sales often took it down to £5) so free is quite nice. People who have bought Horizons will get an exclusive paint job as thanks, mind.
Steelseries are having a 20% off sale on their online store today, making it a great time to pick up one of our favourite gaming headset and gaming mice recommendations on the cheap. It’s not just headsets and mice that are discounted, either. The sale is store-wide, covering everything from keyboards, mouse pads, controllers and accessories, including those natty Cyberpunk 2077 add-ons for the Arctis Pro.

The main goodie being a vampire bat called Edward who will chew on your opponent’s face for you. Delightful.

Free-to-play action RPG Genshin Impact is out now on PC, PS4, iOS, and Android and heck, it actually seems pretty enticing. The very Breath Of The Wild-looking fantasy game gives you elemental powers to wield in action combat, a party to build, and a colorful world to explore. Better yet, you can pull your pals on other systems into co-op with cross-platform multiplayer.

Medieval conquer ’em up Crusader Kings 3 will be pushing out a huge patch to fix all sorts of bugs and AI oddities. Really though, it almost feels like some of these bugs deserve to stay. They’re hard-working bugs, folks. The strategy simulation is adding fixes for overzealous spymasters, children with poor role models, and Popes with a taste for the flesh of the faithful.
