An image of the new Glorious Model O Wireless mouse

Holey mouse makers Glorious have announced their first ever wireless gaming mouse, the Model O Wireless. Weighing in at just 69g, the Model O Wireless is even lighter than my current favourite wireless gaming mouse, the 80g Logitech G Pro Wireless, and at $80, it’s a heck of a lot cheaper, too. Reservations for the mouse open on September 23rd, and here’s what to expect.

Crusader Kings 3 Byzantine Empire map

The ‘North Korea’ strategy has returned for Crusader Kings 3, and it lets you completely dominate the world if pulled off correctly. This style of play was a thing in the previous version of the game, but has been made even stronger and more viable at this point in CK3’s lifetime.

Here’s how to do the North Korea strategy in Crusader Kings 3 and become supreme leader.

An image from Destruction Derby 2 which shows a red and white race car amidst a cluster of other race cars. Two have crashed, with debris flying onto the track, while two others power towards the finish line.

I have vague recollections of playing Destruction Derby 2. I was very young at the time. That age where you stick your discarded, rotting teeth under your pillow and get a quid in return. Not a bad deal in hindsight.

Star Wars: Squadrons

is suiting up for takeoff next month, as are the pilots you’ll meet during your space battles. Motive Studios have produced a new story short to introduce you to one of ’em. Varko Grey is in a spot of trouble when he misses the bus during an Imperial retreat from battle. It’s called “Hunted”, which is what happens when an Alliance pilot spots him adrift without his squad.

As is the way with competitive multiplayer games, cheaters gonna cheat their way to cheap wins. Fall Guys is no different, despite appearing adorable and lighthearted. Folks really want those crowns without breaking a sweat. Mediatonic have revealed a now-closed secret set of servers where cheaters were once banished. They’ve shut it down now, but cheaters will still be getting the boot with some new anti-cheat support.

Borderlands 3

has wrapped its season pass of DLC with Krieg And The Fantastic Fustercluck but oh look, it’s not done with updates just yet. Gearbox announced during their PAX Online showcase that there are more paid add-ons yet to come. The next of the bunch won’t be a campaign DLC like Krieg and others have been, but it’ll add a new game mode and new skill trees for each of your vault hunters.

Chris Roberts, the director of Star Citizen, took to the sandbox space game’s forum this weekend to address recent complaints on how long it’s taking to implement certain features. It comes as a response to a fan’s YouTube video questioning why the perpetually-in-development MMO doesn’t yet have certain aspects of the “atmospheric room systems”, which were first shown by developers Cloud Imperium four years ago.

If you happened to miss it in the flurry of summer showcases, there’s a new battle royale on the block. Spellbreak ditches firearms in favor of spellcasting mages who can all dual wield magical gauntlets that blend the elements in colorful combos. The battlemage royale launched a duos mode today to go along with its current solos or squads of three options. Proletariat also participated in a PAX panel over the weekend digging into the history of the game’s development from melee viking royale to the explosive mage battleground. Forewarning: there be bears.

An awards show style shot-within-shot image. Four images of different world rulers are laid out in a square, each over a map region, each looking like they're awaiting the announcement of a man in the centre, who reads from a scroll. The background is the world map

One of the strange things about Crusader Kings 3 is that the sheer size of the world means that even the mightiest empire will still operate in perhaps a quarter of the map at most. When you’re a small realm, or one squished into a corner like Ireland or Kham, you can spend the entire game without proof that most of the world even exists.

It’s a good thing. I like it. Sometimes I like to pause and scroll around the world to see how it’s doing while I was busy taking Yorubaland to the regionals. And that’s when I noticed something about all the AI dynasties.

They have mottos. They have randomly generated mottos. And yet, they have no independent body to evaluate the best ones and give them appropriate awards. Well, we’ll just have to fix that.
