‘s latest big patch is live, with loads of buffs, nerfs and tweaks for agents and gameplay mechanics alike. Riot’s tactical FPS has had a few issues with hit registration since it came out, and this update has some changes to the game’s visual effects to give a bit more clarity as to where your bullets are actually going.
We’re also getting buffs for characters like Viper and Breach, and nerfs for the likes of Sage and Killjoy. On top of that, Omen has also bagged himself an… unintentional buff (read: bug) that allows him to go invulnerable sometimes after using his Ultimate.
Official images of third party Nvidia RTX 3000 cards show that the unusual dual axial fan and 12-pin power connector design shown off during last night’s [cms-block] reveal will only be found on the Nvidia Founders Editions of each card. The double-sided fans of the RTX 3070, RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 are arguably one of the most striking features of Nvidia’s next-gen graphics cards, but anyone buying a card from one of Nvidia’s traditional third party partners will likely get one that looks very similar to their old one. The good news, though, is that you won’t have to throw out your old power supply just yet, as these third party cards also seem to use the same 8-pin power connectors as their RTX 20-series predecessors.
The 1v4 multiplayer horrorshow Dead By Daylight is getting a new look, developers Behaviour have revealed, with a big graphical overhaul coming across a series of free updates. They’re redrawing textures, rebuilding buildings, relighting lighting, tweaking animations, and generally making maps look more than actual places than the current loose scatterings and assemblies of garbage. It’s looking pretty nice, as you can see in this before/after trailer.
Hot off the heels of last night’s [cms-block] reveal, we also got new ray tracing trailers for Cyberpunk 2077, Minecraft, Watch Dogs Legion, and the newly announced Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. I’ve collected them altogether below, but the Cyberpunk 2077 one is particularly shiny, if only because it’s a new “max settings 4K trailer” showing CD Projekt Red’s upcoming RPG at its very best. Let’s take a look
Rayman is now a bit part player. Like Ubi stablemate Sam Fisher, his days of being the main attraction are over. Despite the quality of 2013’s Rayman Legends, the limbless wonder seems confined to making sporadic appearances in games that just aren’t as good as his own.
Although, it’s not like Ray’s a stranger to a comeback. After many years on the shelf, his act was modernised in 2011 and we were gifted the exceptional Rayman Origins.
, Grinding Gear Games’ huge free-to-play action RPG, has a new expansion – Heist – coming on September 18th. The titular Heists are the main pull, in which you charge into various dungeons and strongholds with your team of goons, get as much loot as you can, and escape before you’re caught and killed.
It’s a daunting proposition for new players, but I had a chat with lead designer Chris Wilson about the new expansion and all the new stuff available, as well as where ideas keep coming from almost seven years after launch.
Oh, we didn’t forget about you, Scourgebringer. After seven months of hacking and slashing and gravity-defying leaps in the bowels of an otherworldly labyrinth, Khyra is aiming her sword straight at a release date later this month. This week’s new trailer may claim “the ordeal is coming to an end”, but I reckon the bloodshed is just waiting to be cranked into full gear.
Ready to open up a new tale? Tactical Arthurian quest Pendragon, the next game from the creators of 80 Days and Heavens Vault, has finally penned itself a release date. Refill your inkwells, readers, because Inkle’s stabby new strategy story generator is flipping open its first page in three weeks.
If the comparatively low prices of the new [cms-block] RTX 3000 graphics cards weren’t already enough to tempt you into upgrading your GPU this year, then Nvidia’s freshly-announced RTX 3000 bundle will no doubt sweeten the deal further. I mean, RTX 2080 Ti-level performance for £469 / $499 on the RTX 3070 is already a tantalising proposition, I must admit, but anyone who buys who of Nvidia’s next-gen GPUs will also get a free copy of the ray tracing and DLSS-enabled Watch Dogs Legion for their trouble, as well as a year’s subscription to their cloud gaming GeForce Now service.
After a decade of monitor-shattering screenshake, the Gun Godz at Vlambeer are closing their doors. The creators of Nuclear Throne, Luftrausers, Super Crate Box and many more delightfully crunchy shooters today announced that Vlambeer’s time is up. While Rami Ismail and JW Nijman aren’t quitting games for good, they’ll no longer be releasing them under the banner of a hastily-drawn flaming bear – with the exception of Ultrabugs, of course.
