Shovel the coals, light the fires, and let’s get this walking affront to nature moving, lads. Dieselpunk army-smasher Iron Harvest is out today – a whimsical alt-history RTS romp that revisits the various imperial death throes of pre-World War 1 Europe and imagines how they’d play out with a few dozen giant robots. The cockpit isn’t ours, but today’s launch means we can finally take command of developer King Art’s hulking iron mechs.

The fifth and final free title update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will arrive on the 1st of October, Capcom have announced, adding one last megamonster to mash. The big, bad, black dragon Fatalis is coming back, complete with the ruined castle where it’s historically fought in Monster Hunter. Yes, absolutely you’ll be able to turn Fatalis into a fetching jacket. You’ll also be able to dress your Palico as Fatalis, and the little catfriend jogging around a big doofy dragon costume does look delightful.

An angled and side on view of Scan's 3XS Arctic Evo RTX gaming desktop PC

Intel’s Gamer Days deals continue this week with discounts aplenty across a whole range of retailers, and the next one I wanted to highlight is this gaming desktop deal from Scan UK. They’ve currently slashed £150 off their 3XS Arctic Evo RTX PC, taking this normally £1650 desktop down to £1500. Inside, you get one of Intel’s brand-new Core i7-10700K CPUs as well as an RTX 2070 Super graphics card, and it also comes with a free code for Marvel’s Avengers when it launches on September 4th.

Electronic Arts left Steam nine years ago to do their own thing with Origin, but over the last few months their games have been returning. Now, their subscription service, EA Play, is on Valve’s platform, too, allowing you to play games like the Dragon Age series, Battlefield V, and more on Steam for a monthly or yearly fee. It’s not just the old stuff EA are letting Steam have though, because you’ll be able to access some of the publisher’s new releases through the service as well.

World Of Warcraft

‘s Shadowlands expansion is getting a formal release on October 27th, but Blizzard’s recently updated PC requirements for the game have been causing quite a stink among its player base. While the minimum CPU and GPU requirements haven’t changed all that much, the minimum storage requirement now seems to imply that you need an SSD to play WOW’s Shadowlands expansion rather than a traditional HDD.

The first story expansion for The Outer Worlds won’t be taking you to a relaxing corner of space for some well-earned relaxation. No, there’s no rest for the wicked in corporate space so you’ll be headed to an old research asteroid to find out what the heck has gone wrong. As you can bet based on the title, Peril On Gorgon will dunk you into the thick of it. You can catch one of the early quests in a new developer commentary video showing off a bit of the expansion coming in September.

Two weeks ago, Mediatonic challenged popular gaming brands and personalities to a charity bidding war. The prize would be a Fall Guys skin dedicated to the one that pledged the highest donation to gaming accessibility organisation Special Effect. The contest has run its course and Mediatonic have declared a $1 million (£748k) group pledge the winner.

Earlier this year, Alice0 mused that it would be weird if Sony didn’t bring more exclusives to PC and by golly it looks like they were listening to her specifically because now they’re having a proper think about it. Sony now say they will “explore” bringing more games by Sony-owned studios to PC players.

We’ve heard just about heck all about Gods & Monsters since Ubisoft announced it with a cinematic trailer in 2019 and then delayed it earlier this year. More information about the open world Greek god-saving action game may be forthcoming, well, soonish. Ubisoft might be changing the game’s name to Immortals Fenyx Rising when they reintroduce it.
