Don’t you just hate it when you finally defeat the bad guy, and he makes the land turn to ruin anyway? Now here you are, living on a mountain top because some evil titan-dude has released a plague beneath it. You should probably do something about that – and you can, when Blightbound releases in early access today. It’s a multiplayer dungeon crawler in which you’ll need to descend down into a corrupting Blight and take out the monsters that reside in it.
I remember when Mike Laidlaw revealed he had joined Ubisoft Quebec a couple of years ago. What a match! The former lead designer for Dragon Age working with the studio that created the brilliant Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. Surprisingly, Laidlaw announced his departure from Ubi just a year later, which a report revealed today was shortly after the game he was working on was cancelled. Even worse, we now know what that game could’ve been – an Arthurian fantasy RPG.

After posing the question ‘who actually takes the evil path in games?’ I was surprised to see the answer is ‘most RPS readers, actually’. I’m not sure if this speaks more to my delightful innocence or your inherent gitishness. Either way, Colm and I (your RPS Vid Buds) continue to step out of our comfort zone as we pursue the nastiest outcomes in The Outer Worlds. We’ve built a grade-A space bastard – manipulative, but handy with a gun when words won’t do – and murdered a dentist. It is off to a good start. So join us live for part two. (more…)

It seems there’s just no stopping the Humble Bundle train at the moment, as yep, you guessed it, they’ve only gone and made another gosh darned game bundle. This time, it’s pillaged the back catalogue of publisher Raw Fury, the folks behind tiny Viking ’em up Bad North, monochrome taxi murder mystery Night Call and the side-scrolling strategy series Kingdom, all of which and more have been packaged up in the Raw Fury Humble Bundle for your gaming pleasure. Here’s how it works.
I once worked in an archive that included a heap of medieval herbals. In some form or another, they were a huge part of our culture and inherited knowledge for thousands of years, and while Skyrim does have a few compendium and guide books, there’s nothing in them that really fits that bill.
But one talented player has recently taken to drawing and painting their own compendium of grumpy Nordland’s flora. Even in its earliest days, it’s got me excited and tempted to dive back into the alchemy game all over again.

has got to be one of the least tower defence-y tower defence games in my Steam library. It has more in common with FTL than with most other games in its genre: your aim as Captain (and certified space-postman) Buck Mann is to fly your ship as quickly as possible from collection point to delivery point, micro-managing your resources and defences in real-time to deal with the various threats that emerge during your journey. No matter the cargo – crates, nuclear fuel, or passengers – Buck Mann offers the speediest journey through what I can only assume must be the most dangerous possible routes in the galaxy. (more…)
It’s time to get very, very serious about shooting your pals with rockets. Rocket Arena‘s first season takes off today, bringing a heap of newness to EA’s bouncy battle arena – a new battle pass, new ranked season, a series of new limited-time events that’ll bring in new maps, and a dorky new hero who blows up baddies by tossing interdimensional cat-heads at them.
is pretty bloody weird, right? A sci-fi romp that has your anime heroes fighting everything from goblins to WW2 battleships by way of Evangelion’s screaming hell-prism. Now, with a Steam launch due next month, you’ll soon be able to traipse through PSO2 as some kind of Valve chimaera – piloting a far-future mech in Gordon Freeman’s hazard suit as a tiny Stephen Merchant hovers menacingly by your side. Just another day on the job, eh?
Brought your bug repellant, adventurers? World Of Warcraft Classic is going back to Silithus to revisit the game’s most notorious bug hunt. Today’s update for the throwback MMO is preparing to re-open the lost Silithid empire of Ahn’Qiraj – which is to say that the long and arduous task of funding an army, piecing together an ancient staff worthy of a Scarab Lord, and knocking down that stubborn door at the bottom of the world has once again begun in earnest.

It’s not just cheap RAM that Newegg have in their deals basket today, as they’ve also shaved $300 off two rather good Asus ROG Strix gaming laptops at the moment, too. The first is a Core i5, GTX 1660 Ti-powered number that’s now $999 instead of $1299, while the other is a Core i7, RTX 2070 machine that’s now down to $1700 instead of its usual $2000, giving you two very good options at both ends of the price spectrum.
