Cyberpunk 2077 - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Alice O'Connor)

Update: now that it’s all over, here’s what they showed. They announced an anime series too.>

As notE3 trundles onwards, today the festivities jack into the futureworld of Cyberpunk 2077. Though the new RPG from the makers of The Witcher is one of the most hotly-anticipated games of notE3, so far we’ve seen far more of SpongeBob SquarePants than any ChromeBob PleatherPants. No more! Today at 5pm (that’s 9am Pacific), CD Projekt Red will hold their first 25-minute “Night City Wire” stream, showing more gameplay and chatting with some of its makers. You can see the Twitch stream below.

CPU deals of the week

Not too much change in the world of CPU deals this week, unless you’re happy with third parties on Amazon. This week, XtraDigitalStorage has undercut everyone by some margin on a range of AMD and Intel CPU deals, including some of Intel’s 10th Gen Comet Lake processors. It’s worth noting that the Amazon reviews of said company do highlight that deliveries take an absolute age, so if you need something quickly then maybe look elsewhere. Plus, UK buyers can get a free copy of Horizon Zero Dawn with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU or above until June 30th this week, and the imminent arrival of their new Ryzen 3000XT CPUs on July 7th mean there should be even more deals on the rest of the Ryzen family over the next couple of weeks, so we’ll be keeping our eyes well and truly peeled.

As for the rest of the cheapest CPU deals this week, it’s small changes in dollars and pounds in either direction, but we’ve done our best to find all the latest and greatest CPU deals regardless, listing the best prices for all of today’s [cms-block]s to help you bag yourself a bargain. We’ve got everything here from the best Intel CPU deals to the best AMD Ryzen CPU deals, so whether you’re upgrading your PC or building a new PC from scratch, these are the cheapest CPU deals around right now.

You might know Blindboy as “that Irish guy from the Rubberbandits who wears a bag on his head”, because he is, but he’s also so much more. He’s a podcaster, author and musician, and Alice Bee is well into him. She’s on holiday, though, which means I get to show off his recent adventures in Red Dead Redemption 2. Please treat yourself to the following 90-minute Twitch stream of Blindboy riding around while improvising suspiciously good songs about what he sees – or at least watch the five-minute compilation. It gave me belly laughs.

Everyone loves a good load of [cms-block], but there is a limit to what you can get when you only have a maximum of £1000 / $1000 to spend. Thankfully, Amazon US have just slashed the prices of three big name gaming laptops from Razer, Acer, Gigabyte and Asus to bring them down much closer to that four-figure grand mark. Normally, these laptops would set you back around $1500 give or take a few hundred dollars, making it a great time to snap one up if you’re in the market for taking your games on the go.

hearthstone trial by felfire 1

It seems it’s a summer for demons and big metal vehicles. First, Monster Train steamed into the hearts of digital card game aficionados with its tale of high-speed satans, and now good old Hearthstone is at it as well. While its new Felfire Festival event can’t technically be called an expansion as it doesn’t come with a new set of cards, it’s seen a new faction of pirates added to Hearthstone’s autobattler mode, a bunch of new tavern brawls, a 21-mission solo campaign, and – coming later today – a series of PvE deckbuilding challenges pitting you against some classic gits off of World Of Warcraft.

Oh, and of course one of Blizzard’s delightfully cheesy animated music videos, featuring Mecha-Jaraxxus (a sort of cyborg devil, and the baddie from the new solo campaign) giving it a bit of Immortan Joe with his Rusted Legion. With loads of new stuff to do (all of it being entirely free, and none of it buggering up the game’s meta with overpowered cards), I have to say I actually prefer it to recent full-scale Hearthstone expansions.

When Epic announced plans to show a full Christoper Nolan film on Fortnite‘s in-game cinema screens, I guessed it was probably Inception or maybe Batman. Turns out, it’s both – or even The Prestige instead. Interestingly/frustratingly, the film that’ll be screened free on Friday varies by country due to rights issues and local laws. So the UK gets The Prestige, the USA gets Inception, France gets Batman Begins, and so on. But if you want to watch The Prestige while people dressed as Batman and megastreamer “Ninja” floss on you, it’s time to get the popcorn in.

Crystal Dynamics have rallied the reinforcements, mustered the muscle, oh and I suppose assembled the Avengers for a bunch of gameplay and trailers for Marvel’s Avengers. They dig in to superhero-hating corporation AIM, big baddie M.O.D.O.K., and co-op play in the first of their War Table video presentations.
