AMD’s new B550 motherboards for their 3rd Gen Ryzen CPUS finally go on sale in the UK today, with prices starting from £110 (or £135 if you’re Ebuyer) in a range of form factors. The B550 chipset is the long-awaited successor to AMD’s mid-range B450 boards, and is one of the only chipsets guaranteed to offer future built-in support for AMD’s next generation of Zen 3 CPUs (the other being the super expensive X570 boards). Of course, £135 is still pretty steep compared to the cost of older B450 boards, many of which can be had for as little as £55 these days, but the good news is that Asus have just announced a nifty cashback offer to help make the transition a little easier for early upgraders, with up to £100 back in your pocket if you buy a ROG or TUF B550 board with an eligible Ryzen CPU.

This morning, Itch.io’s Bundle For Racial Justice And Equality ended its ten days of fundraising with a whooping $8,175,480.81 (£6.4 million) going to organisations fighting racial injustice in America, smashing the $5 million goal. By the end, the bundle offered 1704 videogames, tabletop RPGs, tools, books, comics, soundtracks, and more for as little as $5. It was a phenomenal bargain helping great causes. If you missed it, you missed out.

We already know there are loads of PlayStation 5 games coming to PC, but now it seems the entire look of Sony’s new space age console box is also borrowing a fair bit from existing PC case designs. Specifically, Zotac’s MEK1 mini PC, as their Italian Facebook page recently asked fans to “spot the difference” between the two machines, and yep, I’m definitely having a hard time telling those two things apart right now.

Like many CCG-curious people, I can’t even think about playing Magic: The Gathering properly. Building a deck from a library of thousands of cards and mechanics makes impossible demands on my time and – frankly – ability. But that’s about to change with Jumpstart, a new format that’s due to launch July 17 on paper in the US and also in Magic: The Gathering Arena, its excellent free-to-play PC-based incarnation.

Look, I’m not the only one. “I still have a hard time confidently knowing how many lands to put in my deck,” Mark Heggen tells me. And he’s Magic’s principal product designer. So Jumpstart sounds interesting to me as an official way to play Magic that sidesteps the whole thing.

It’s the start of a new week, and yep, there’s another new Ebay code on the loose. Even better, this one seems to work with every PC component Currys PC World’s UK Ebay store has to offer, including an RTX 2070 Super graphics card for just £449, and Intel’s brand-new Core i7-10700K CPU for £342. It’s definitely worth having a nose around to see what you can find, but to help draw your attention to the biggest bargains on offer, I’ve rounded up all the best ones for your delectation below.

A small hint, a tiny crumb, a mere morsel> of news is all I’ve wanted of Hollow Knight: Silksong since it was announced last year, and today I got it. Thanks to some clever fans over on the official Hollow Knight Discord server, Team Cherry have revealed an NPC that we’ll meet in the sequel to the brilliant bug-filled metroidvania. All they had to do was answer some riddles… to learn about.. a single… NPC… hm. So it’s not a new trailer or even a release date, but it is news, and I’m unreasonably excited about it.

Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Matt Cox)

Law. Law always changes, and it’s honestly a bit of a nightmare. Last Friday, Gearbox Software filed a suit against Apogee Software, the owners of Duke Nukem 3D developers* 3D Realms. Gearbox bought the Duke Nukem franchise off ’em back in 2010, and now they’re accusing 3D Realms of failing to mention that they didn’t own the copyright to some of the game’s music.

This follows Gearbox’s 2014 suit that (supposedly?) established their full ownership of the franchise, and is the result of another ongoing lawsuit by musician Bobby Prince against Gearbox (as well as Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford and Valve Software), where he’s claiming that he merely licensed his tracks to them rather than outright selling. Basically, Gearbox are trying to ensure they don’t suffer legal costs because of 3D Realms’ alleged cock-up. It is: messy.

It’s only been a month since Nvidia lifted the lid on their next-gen Ampere GPU architecture, but the internet is already awash with rumours about the release date, specs and price of their upcoming next-gen RTX 3000 graphics cards. As well as an RTX 3080 spotted in the wild, there’s also been talk that the expected RTX 3080 Ti will actually play second fiddle to an RTX 3090 GPU, which may or may not be a new version of Nvidia’s existing Titan RTX graphics card. Either way, the race to become the world’s newest and [cms-block] is on, so I’ve gathered up all the information I can find about Nvidia’s Ampere GPUs to try and make sense of the current online rumours.

I will, of course, be updating this article on a regular basis as and when more information about Nvidia’s RTX 3000 GPUs gets announced, so watch this space for more details on the RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3090’s release date, price and specs. For now, though, here’s everything we know so far.
