Garry's Mod - Rubat



Hello everyone,

The next Garry's Mod update is coming soon!

The current plan is to release the next Garry's Mod update on 24th of June at the usual 4PM GMT.
The update will be optional for server owners, however it is always a good idea to keep your server updated to receive all the latest fixes and features.

Help us test the update
We kindly ask anyone willing to help us test this update before it releases (especially modders and server owners), to minimize any potential problems with the update.

Pre-release Steam Branch
The Pre-Release and x64-86 Steam beta branches for Garry's Mod has been updated and contain all the changes that will be included in the next update.

If you want to set up an Dedicated Server instance using the Pre-Release branch, see this article: https://wiki.facepunch.com/gmod/Downloading_a_Dedicated_Server

How to switch game branches:
  1. Exit the game
  2. Right click on Garry's Mod in Steam and select Properties
  3. Go to the Betas tab and select your desired branch
None - This is the normal version of the game
Pre-Release - This is the next update
Dev - This is a bleeding edge version of the game, expect it to contain more bugs than usual

Main menu background contest
The main menu background contest is now completed. Thanks to everyone who participated. We will be adding the top 50 into the next Garry's Mod update, doubling the current background count.

Hey everyone, there's a small patch out now that fixes a few issues with Under Shelter.


Change log:
-You can check the survivors' information in the list of people.
-During distribution, the part where the survivors' ambassadors appear is displayed normally.
-Fixed a part where the efficiency of the boiler room decreases at the start of the game.
-Fixed a part where the efficiency of the machine room decreases at the start of the game.
-The name of the radioactivity/temperature stage in the integrated report has been corrected.
-The buff effects of radioactivity and temperature steps are displayed in the lobby.
-Hover over the radioactivity and temperature steps in the lobby to see detailed descriptions.


Additionally, updates will continue.

Deadtime Defenders - Ravenous Games
A new game mode appears: Rescue! You'll have to eliminate a set number of enemies and then break open the Crystal to save a survivor in this game mode!

Rescue Mode
We are currently working on the tech changes required to add story mode to the game. One of the things we'll be adding for the story is having to complete rescue missions to unlock specific NPCs instead of "level locking" them. This is our first iteration of this new game mode that will be hooked into the mission system in a future update.








Game Improvements
We've improved the graphics for the Void and Rescue mode Crystal and added some VFX when destroying it. This update also includes some performance fixes, an improved Run Complete menu, and some Void Run improvements.

Patch Notes
Features / Improvements
• A new game mode: Rescue! Eliminate a bunch of enemies and then break the Crystal to save a random NPC inside!
• New graphics for the Void Crystal.
• Rock and crystal debris (with screen shake) when breaking open the Crystal in a Rescue or Void Run.
• After completing a Void Run you must enter the portal to the right like the other game modes.
• Added a FTUE for the Crafting menu.
• New Run Complete menu with a separate page showing the loot found.
• Improved the performance related to the gib and debris emitters.
• Improved the performance for graphics sorting and our custom simulated 3D objects.

Rebalancing
• Destroying a Crystal (Rescue or Void Run) yields crystal rewards.
• Made the play area for the Void zone smaller.

Bugfixes
• Fixed another bug that to make sure Apex items roll at level 30.
• Fixed a bug with the screen shake not clamping to map bounds.
• Fixed the background size aspect ratio for Loadout menu.
• Typo fixes in the HQ first-time user experience.
