has been in the works for a while, but it’s on the final stretch now, as developers Sunhead Games announced an autumn 2020 launch, and slipped a new trailer into place next to the river, allowing us to… okay I should probably explain this one first.
It’s a puzzle game in which the land underneath you is made of large tiles. You play as Carto, a cute little explorer with the power to rearrange those tiles, which opens up new paths to help you get home, and helping out lots of people along the way.
DayZ creator Dean “Rocket” Hall today announced Icarus, a free-to-play cooperative multiplayer survival game where you’re not in it for the long haul. Players will drop onto alien worlds to scavenge, minebuild, craft, fight, and survive, same as usual – then need to evacuate before they miss their opportunity and the character is lost forever. Huh!
Don’t get me wrong, folks, I’m well up for Baldur’s Gate III going into early access, and my heart always skips a beat when I get news about Bloodlines 2. But the main reason I watch game reveal livestreams is to, well, see some games revealed. And though the Guerrilla Collective had a few nice wares laid out in its car boot sale of new stuff, one really got the old synapses firing more than any other.
When I was a kid, one of the few VHS tapes we had was a Thundercats one. The tape itself was pink, which was very exciting for me, so I watched it a lot, and I loved the cat people. And now I am an adult, I love games like Monster Hunter, where I can hammer giant creatures to death with special weapons. So now, it seems, there is a game where I can play as some sort of demonic cat person, and leap across worlds, and punch giant gods until their arms fall off. And then I can run around carrying those fallen arms above my head like a sexy soldier ant. Yes, Almighty: Kill Your Gods! YES!
You just can’t keep a good villain down, huh? While somewhat unfortunate for us in the real world, it’s fantastic news for devilish scheme ’em up Evil Genius 2. Spoiling their schemes with a new “gameplay” trailer aired during tonight’s PC Gaming show, developers Rebellion revealed a few of the fiendish new traps henchmen heading to their sunny bad guy management sim later this year.
can take a moment to catch its breath, as the developers of upcoming lowercase-c civilisation 4X strategy game Humankind have quietly pushed its expected launch back to next year. It was previously due this year, but a new trailer today says 2021.
Amplitude also put out a call to fans and prospective players to help them fine tune it, offering access to limited preview builds in return for active playtesting feedback with their Open Dev scheme. There’s even a trailer for that.
Even my sea-chilled heart is warmed by the sight of Ooblets, a town life game full of farming, friendship, and training cute critters who have dance battles. Today, after a lengthy stretch of vagueness, developers Glumberland announced that it’ll be entering early access this summer. Summer’s soon! And I have absolutely no plans for summer. Come have a look in the new trailer below.
Rejoice, JRPG fans. Persona 4 Golden has finally been summoned onto PC. Announced just moments ago at the PC Gaming Show as part of this year’s notE3 celebrations, this is the first time a Persona game has been released on something that doesn’t have the word PlayStation written on it, which is pretty darn exciting if you ask me. This is a series I’ve been busting to play on PC for absolutely yonks, and I’ve been putting the PC port of Persona 4 Golden through its paces to see how it holds up.
After a little teasing, Atlus have launched Persona 4 Golden on PC, making it the first (and arguably best) entry in the much-loved JRPG series to make it over. It’s out right now, appearing on Steam ahead of today’s expected announcement. It’s a series I’ve been hankering for on PC for absolutely ages, so it’s great to see Atlus and Sega finally opening the floodgates. Here’s hoping it won’t be too long before Persona 5 follows in its wake.
Today’s Guerilla Collective stream treated us to two tasty nuggets from the Forgotten Realms, as Baldur’s Gate 3 got its first official trailer, and also a tentative early access release date of “August (Maybe)”. That ‘Maybe’ is, understandably, doing a lot of heavy lifting right now, as developers Larian Studios can’t be certain what will and won’t be possible under the looming spectre of the Covid-19 virus in the months to come. But after watching a load of cool devil men, goth hobbits and Shakespeares make their slow-motion preparations for battle, accompanied by some of the best pump-up music I’ve encountered in a while, I’m just gonna have to be optimistic.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
was bound to have a few familiar faces, wasn’t it? I mean, they’re vampires so they tend to hang around a while. Paradox Interactive have released a new video announcing that yer girl Damsel—who seems much less likely to be in distress than the one causing it—will be making a return in Bloodlines 2.
