Does anyone remember Greed Corp? It’s a neat digital board game about harvesting the earth beneath your feet in order to destroy your enemies, and hoping they’re the ones who wind up in the abyss. It came out a decade ago, but I hadn’t played anything that mashed up computers and cardboard in a way that scratched the same itch until this morning.

Hex Gambit: Respawned is like chess meets Into The Breach meets American football. It’s about making robots destroy other robots, or else making robots bounce over other robots’ heads so they can slap their opponent’s totem, score a point, and do a little dance. I like it, even though I’m only playing in the closed beta and haven’t had a chance to fight a human.

Without decent armor, it’s going to be quite difficult to survive the labyrinthine levels of Minecraft Dungeons. There’s a surprising number of different types of armor available, and they all give significant bonuses.

Some armor is focused on allowing your hero to take more hits from foes, while others give bonuses like give extra arrows or reduce cool down for artefacts. If you’re trying to make a particular build, it’s important to know which kinds of armor will bolster the abilities you want to improve.

A while back politicians in the UK identified the environment as a key battleground to fight over, and all started riding around on those tiny bikes you can fold up and carry around London to prove they cared about trees. Not to be outdone, EA have, ten years later, released their latest expansion to blockbuster tiny-person life simulation series The Sims 4 along a green theme. Eco Lifestyle adds a new world with three neighbourhoods, a bunch of new Create-a-Sim and build items, and the requisite personality traits, aspirations and skills to go along with being an eco-warrior. The bits that are there are very fun – possibly the most fun I’ve had with The Sims for a while – but it also feels like parts are missing.
