Blizzard are changing up Overwatch‘s hero pool system again, except this time around they’re just straight up removing it from regular competitive play. The system, which involves banning several characters each week, was originally implemented to stop the meta from turning stale, and it’s seen a few changes already in its short life. Just last month I reported that they’d ditched hero pools for lower rank players, and now they’ve gone as far as to get rid of them for everyone. Except the Overwatch League, that is, which, let’s be honest, is pretty much the only reason hero pools were invented in the first place.

Atlus, the makers of games including Persona and Trauma Center, are teasing that they might have more games coming to PC. They’ve said they’ll have something to show during the PC Gaming Show, Saturday’s newsblast stream organised by cheery RPS fanzine PC Gamer, and I dearly hope it’s PC releases for Persona. The long-running RPG series is about high school students drawn into supernatural mysteries, balancing regular life by day and battling spookies by night. They are: good. An enhanced version of Persona 5 came out on PlayStation 4 only in March so saaay that might be a good place to start.

It’s been less than a month since Nvidia announced their next-gen Ampere GPU architecture for their next generation of RTX 3000 graphics cards, but already there appears to be an RTX 3080 GPU out in the wild. The RTX 3080 and the rest of the inevitable 3000 series GPUs haven’t been formally announced yet, but if this latest image from Chiphell is anything to go by, then we could be pretty close to Nvidia announcing the release date, price and specs for their hotly-anticipated RTX 3080 and RTX 3080 Ti GPUs.

Nvidia RTX 3080 render by JDSP5

When Nvidia unveiled their next-gen Ampere GPU architecture last month, they didn’t mention hide nor hair about when we’ll see it in a consumer RTX card. However, if the latest leaked images of Nvidia’s next-gen GPUs are to be believed, the RTX 3080 could be a lot closer to release than we might think. And hoo boy does it look weird.

Thalia wakes up from a vivid nightmare, and realises it’s 9pm. Her friend drags her to a party she forces herself to go along to, where she worries she’s unwelcome, has an anxiety spike and has to leave.

I’ve played only the demo so far, roughly an hour long, but I’m ready to go all in. I am quite excited about She Dreams Elsewhere.

Sports are coming back. Kind of. The early days of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic saw makeshift sports stunts like TV networks airing NHL20 games and tournaments of real F1 drivers playing F12019.

Now, proper sports folks are getting back on the proper pitch but they won’t have a proper audience to cheer for them because stadiums full of folks would be a major social distancing blunder. Instead, Sky Sports will be piping in fake crowd noises in to their broadcast so those of ya watching at home still feel like it’s the realest of real deals.
