Over the past several weeks, we’ve taken a look at the over-the-top world of Rock of Ages 3, as well as the new boulders and game modes coming to this next iteration in July. But Rock of Ages isn’t just about barreling your enormous boulder downhill at your enemy’s castle. It’s also an equally wacky tower defense game!
So, naturally, we need to take a look at all of the new tools at your disposal to stop the boulder-rolling madness and defend your castle. Here are the new defensive units available in Rock of Ages 3: Make and Break.
War Elephant – What could be scarier than a massive elephant staring you down in the middle of an open field? A massive elephant carrying archers hell-bent to shoot any boulder that dares to get close.
Guillotine – Known as “The National Razor” in France, the guillotine was last used for capital punishment in 1977. But in 2020, this deadly apparatus will deal critical damage to a boulder that rolls under it.
Wheel of Pain – If the Wheel of Fortune had an evil twin, it would be the Wheel of Pain. It’s spinning arms deal serious damage and can send a boulder careening off the side of the map. Attack the center to destroy.
The Fool – If staying out of the way of a boulder barreling down a hill at terminal velocity is wrong, the fool does not want to be right. Create a congregation of fools, and you now have a slightly larger minor inconvenience.
Trojan Horse – Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth? More like don’t look a gift horse in the hollowed-out underbelly filled with enemy combatants! Block your opponents from being able to build on certain parts of their course with the oldest trick in the book.
Yeti – As if the abominable snowman wasn’t terrifying enough, the yeti in Rock of Ages 3 has harnessed the power of winter and delivers an icy blow that freezes nearby boulders.
Battering Ram – A slow moving, heavy structure that packs a serious punch. Use the battering ram to deal damage and knock back incoming boulders.
Bumper Frog – Ranidaphobics beware. This gigantic frog will ruin your boulder’s day by inflating to repel attackers. Land on it from above, and it will explode!
On top of these new additions, staples from previous games are also returning, including walls, launch pads, explosive barrels, and much much more!
