Hello, everyone.
This is Gon Namgung, Development PD of Heroes Showdown.

It is really great to be back with a new developer’s note.
As we announced in the earlier dev note, yes, we will update for Early Access, and through this note, we would like to explain the background of few changes that the development team decided to make.


1) No Monetization model will be included in this Early Access version.

We think this Early Access as a test that everyone can participate and our first step to global service of Heroes Showdown franchise.

To make ‘Heroes Showdown’ a more completed and strategic game, first, Devs thought that we need to test it in the environment that many people can participate easily. So, during the early access period, there will be no monetization model at all.

We will never make Heroes Showdown a common 'Pay to Win' game. Our primary concern, for now, is perfecting the game and make you satisfied. The monetization model could be included someday in the future, but I can tell you this. It will be a fair one that you guys can accept.

Since there is no in-game product that can provide you convenience, we are worried that some of you might feel uncomfortable. It will be appreciated if you consider it as a growing pain of the game.
To prevent any misunderstandings, I would like to highlight that none of your in-game data, including your account levels, acquired Heroes, and acquired Runes will be reset or removed even after the official launch. You will not have to worry at all.


2) About the Rewards of CBT Account Level 30 Achievement Event

In the previous notice, we have announced that Battle Pass, the rewards of CBT account level 30 achievement event, would be replaced with 'Starter Package'.

We were designing Starter Package as a product that contains various items for beginners, but since we decided to put no monetization model or product, we had to redesign it from top to bottom.
We thought that providing a product under an unsettled monetization model would be the right decision for our fans. So, we decided that we have to provide it when the transparent and fair monetization model is finally settled.

We are sorry about the decision we had to make. As compensation, we will provide you the ‘Forest of Twilight’ Battlefield map when you reach Level 2. Of course, as promised, we will also provide CBT account level 30 achievement rewards normally when everything is ready.


3) We will need more time to complete Custom mode

At first, we were going to present Custom mode, the mode which supports solo and team plays. Since many of you have given us many requests on a friendly match or practice match during CBT, we thought we should attach a high priority to it.

However, though we tried our best to add the mode before the Early Access, due to the lack of time, we thought that it would be impossible to show you the complete and stable version that you can enjoy comfortably. So, after discussion, we decide the mode needs time for it.

We know we failed to keep a word we gave you in the previous DEV note, and we are really sorry for that. Custom mode will be updated in May after sufficient tests were made.

Tomorrow, the Early Access of Heroes Showdown finally begins!

A few minor updates for you
  1. Fixed an issues where the UI wouldn't always show a controller when it was plugged in.
  2. Improve error messages for some crashes.
  3. Other rare crash fixes.

We will be doing maintenance and update on May 14th, 12:00-14:00 AM Beijing time (UTC+8). The estimated maintenance time is two hours. After the maintenance, you'll receive 5,000 Bronze Coins and 200 Honour as compensation.

1.The rotation sieges in May: Harbour City Siege, Siege of Kurak Castle
The Harbour City Siege & Siege of Kurak Castle will be online as this month's rotation sieges(May 2020). The Siege of Dasuo Fort will be offline at the same time. After we finished the update, the Attackers and Defenders players on the battlefield will adjust to 15 vs. 15. According to the feedback we've received from players and the significant change on the battlefield. We decided to optimize some details of the map as follows:

1) The optimizing of the Harbour City Siege
-The scaffolding next to the main doorsteps on either side now is destructible. So the Trebuchet can attack the targets on the steps.

-A new Attackers' Supply Point was added to the seaside, thus increasing the route of attack.

-The number of Trebuchet on the Attackers' side risen from 6 to 8.
-Siege Towers and Battering Rams moved 5 meters in the direction of the target.
-After capturing Point A, the adding time increased from 3 minutes to 4 minutes.
-The number of Siege Ladders increased slightly.


2) The optimizing of the Siege of Kurak Castle
-Siege Towers and Battering Rams moved 5 meters in the direction of the target.
-The number of Siege Ladders increased slightly.
-The number of Trebuchet on the Attackers' side risen from 6 to 8.

2. Balancing adjustment


According to the data and feedback, the win rate of the Attackers on the Siege of Augolia was lower than we expected. So we will make the following adjustments:

-Add more siege equipment: add 2 uncovered Mortars outside the Point A to against players who are camping inside Point A.
-Siege equipment move forward: We'd like to speed up the game tempo, so we moved Siege Towers 10 meters in the direction of the target and moved Battering Rams 5 meters forward as well.
-Add more Siege Ladders: on the first level of Point B, we placed Ladders on both sides of the gallery. So the Attackers can choose from sneak attack tactics.

3.The balancing of Heroes: Musket-wielding heroes skills adjustment
Now on the battlefield, the Musket-wielding heroes will be allowed to use Fine Gunpowder to increase their loading speed or attacking power to adapt to the high tempo. We feel that the experience of this skill on the battlefield is excellent at first. But in the recent feedback we've received, we found that with rapidly clicking this skill, the hero can instantly burst of extremely significant damage, which has violated our original intention. So we made the following adjustments:
-We added a casting animation for Fine Gunpowder so that it can't cast immediately like before.

4. The update of Doctrine Choice Crate in Seasonal Store Season
After this update, the contents of the Doctrine Choice Crate in Seasonal Store Season will also renew. It contains:
-Rare Mounted Archery Doctrine (3 days)
-Imperial Archers (3 days)
-Rare Crossbow Doctrine (3 days)

The Epic Doctrine:
-Epic Archery Doctrine III (1 day)
-Epic Archery Doctrine V (1 day)
-Rare Arquebus Doctrine III (1 day)
-Epic Arquebus Doctrine (1 day)

5. System Optimizing
1) In order to avoid when having Auxiliary units, the following received Signaculum will refill its XP automatically. We've changed the way for Auxiliary units to have XP. The Signaculum can't refill it's XP anymore.
2) We've optimized the award after finish the Fourth Stage of Veteran Crossbowmen. You'll skip to units unseal screen after you finish the stage. You can unseal it. Then you'll find and recruit it through Barracks-Ranged Infantry-Veteran Crossbowmen.
3) The optimizing of Alliance Diplomacy: In My Alliance screen, even the lowest ranking member can see the diplomatic situation of the Alliance now.

6.Bug Fixing
Fixed bugs in events:
-In Siege of Dasuo Fort, the barrier of the Defenders' respawning point near the base can not be destroyed now.
-In Siege Battle at the Great Wall, the Attackers' battering ram will not be stuck on the bridge.

Fixed bugs in system:
-Now you can use Cross-region Migration Token after the opening of Border Posts.

Fixed Bugs in units:
-Now the Veteran Crossbowmen and Martellatore will show the correct icon of Season Doctrines
-Now all the Auxiliary units will display correctly on the map.
-Now Martellatore will not cancel their setting moves while he was executing attack orders.
-Now Selemchid Cavalry, Khorchin, Kheshigs, Ironcap Bowrider, and Fire Lancers can correctly set up Scatter Formation.
-Now the text in the challenges of Martellatore will show the correct translation.
-The description of the effect of Kheshigs' Doctrine I in this season is corrected.
-The descriptions of Bullseye's nodal effects of Demesne Arbalists is corrected.
-The correct value of Javelin Sergeants' Doctrine II will be displayed now.

# How to access the test branch
- Right-clicking on 'Devil Slayer - Raksasi' in your Steam library.
- Click ‘Properties’.
- Click the 'Betas' tab.
- Select 'test' from the drop-down menu.

- All sledgehammer weapons now have the ability to increase the target's recovery time after been hit by 0.4 seconds.
- The Steadfast King: Berserk lightning strikes now have the ability to break guard.
- Momentum Set: gain Spirit Armor only when killing an enemy with a Soul bonus.
- Mire Battalion: Soul bonus changed from 4 to 0.
- Mire Squad: Soul bonus changed from 0 to 1.


# Experience
- Increase the player's movement speed slightly when there are no monsters nearby.
- Refine the monster's impact teleportation effect.
- Refine the logic of the charm effect.
- Refine the effect of the force fields to avoid situations where the gravitational force changes with position incorrectly.
- Crazed Magistrate: Drops [Scroll - Puppet Maggot].
- The Five Oddities: Drops [Scroll - Golden Silkworm].
- General Nara: Drops [Scroll - Fists of Momentum].
- Miserly Demon (Achievement): The requirement has been changed from "do not purchase goods" to "do not spend money".

- Fine-tune the effect of the portals.

# Bug Fixes
- Fix the issue that the routes selection screen may display abnormally at some resolutions.
- Fix an error caused by changing the display resolution.
- Fix a texture order problem in the Soul Room of Great Wall level.
- Fix an underlying system error that could cause the program to crash.
- Fix a problem where the probability of adding a buff may be handled incorrectly.
- Fix the problem that the burn effect does not continue to damage collided targets after entering another room.
- Fix an issue where monsters continued to spawn after the BOSS being defeated.
- Fix the issue that the game options are not saved properly.
- Fix a problem that the character moves at an abnormal speed after an accidental program crash when the character is running under certain conditions.
- Fix the problem that the Cursed Blood Bat not being able to move pass the low barriers.

This is an error that is related to the engine used to build this game, Construct 2, and often happens due to the software it uses, node.js.
