We’ve been hard at work to resolve issues that users reported and to overall polish and improve the game! More updates and features coming soon. In this update:
- Fixed Achievements Bug: Users were unable to unlock any of the achievements
- Polished Implementation of Valve Index Controllers: Some users had issues with advancing dialogue while holding the grab button.
- Fixed Dot Underwater gravity
- Bug: Some users reported that after a few deaths during the water level, Dot would lose her gravity, making it impossible to progress.
- Analytics Implementation: To help us improve your game experience, we are collecting anonymous data about gameplay through Unity Analytics such as which checkpoints players are struggling the most. This data will help us to better understand critical issues of the game and make better design choices in future updates. We respect your privacy and if you are not comfortable with sharing your data, you can opt out by clicking on the Privacy Settings in the in-game menu and following the instructions on your browser.

Hello Warriors!

It's finally time for us to exit the insect kingdom and make our way to the ultimate bug hunter the BullFrog!


Here's our patch history since January this year.
  • Alpha Black Ant -> Physics Jumping, ProTube Support, Dynamic Lighting
  • Alpha Fire Ant -> Underwater VFX / Swimming, Landscape rendering, Basketball Mini Game
  • Alpha Lightning Bug - > Tutorial, Voice Overs, Bots, Steam Friends Invite
  • Alpha Tarantula -> Squads Mode, Ballistics, Credits Screen, Youtube Player in Game
  • EA Mantis -> Gun Range, Melee Weapons, Killroom, Helicopters rework
  • EA Bull Frog -> Improved Loading times, Performance Optimizations, and better inventory management.


The big focus for this patch has been performance improvements, loading times and better inventory management. We've heard everyone's complaints and we've worked rigorously the past two weeks to make Virtual Battlegrounds more accessible.

Improved Loading Times



We know this isn't the most exciting "feature" for most of you but it was a huge technical accomplishment for our team and it was our biggest focus this patch.

Now the entire game loads into ram at game start. Once the initial load is finished hopping in and out of a match is easy. Expect between 5-10 seconds of load time between matches whether or not you're on an SSD or HDD! We even added a replay button that pops up after matches so you can quickly hop back into another game.

Floating Backpack Option



One of the big complaints we've heard people say during the course of Early Access is the difficulty of using their backpack and equipment. We've done a few things including adding the option of a floating backpack to make their gameplay more fluid. Additionally we've prioritized grabbing items off of the players body over items on the ground and walls. We've had several users complain they are having trouble putting things on and off their body. Lastly we've also increased the range at which items can grab and snap back to your body. We're curious to see what you all think.

Season One



With BullFrog starting now that means it's getting closer for us to start season one. Once we've polished the game some more this month we're going to drop a big update next month to start season one. Get ready!

Lastly a few people seemed to doubt us when we showed that screenshot of our long term goal for the map. So here's some actual first person footage from atop of Mount Ostenbirk of what that terrain might end up looking like.

New Features
  • Rebuilt loading system. Game all gets loaded into ram on launch and stays in ram. Can hop in and out of matches in about 5-10 seconds whether or not you're on an SSD or HDD.
  • Added a replay game button as well to make hopping back into matches quick and easy.
  • New option to allow backpack to float in front of you when you release it. Ideally this should make backpacks easier to use with attachments.


Design Changes
  • Jukebox shuffles playlist on load. RIP YUKI.
  • Suppressors now add 5% increased meters per second velocity and 5% increased damage.
  • Reduced audio range of zip-lines from 150M -> 100M.
  • Pistols can now use holo + red dot sights.

Quality of Life Changes
  • Performance improvements across the board. 30% gains.
  • STEAMVR throwing physics improved.
  • Backpack should be easier to grab in crouch, prone and standing states.
  • Weapon spawns should be more consistent. Need more verification on this from users.
  • Can see total number of players in lobby.
  • Can grab backpack items by pointing at them or putting your hand over them.
  • Made it easier to grab and remove stuff from your body / belt.
  • Made the belt / body items a higher priority for grabbing then walls and things on the floor.
  • More consistent leader-board results.
  • More consistent weapon spawning.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed not being able to see 4 digit rankings on leader-boards in lobby.
  • Fixed 3rd squad-mate icon being off.
  • Fixed helicopters sometimes freezing in the sky.
  • Fixed the guns UI, BELTUI, and left / right eye render not saving between scenes.
  • Less black screening between matches.
  • Should see ELO changes taking place more consistently now. You can also lose elo now. Buckle up everyone above 2K.

New known issues that will be resolved soon.
  • Weapons floating above their spawn points occasionally
  • Temporarily disabled tutorial

Paradox Vector - Schmidt Workshops
Paradox Vector has received lot's of new changes and fixes. Most of the bigger ones are in the later levels of the game, after entering the caves.

What's New?
  • Updated color schemes in some of the levels and game objects
  • Fixed some small issues with the controller configuration screen
  • New footstep sounds for ventilation shafts
  • New music for caves and factory locations
  • Added checkpoints in caves and factory locations

What's Fixed?
  • Vent covers should now be removed when reloading a level, so you won't get stuck inside
  • A certain boss enemy could be killed before entering his evil chamber, this will no longer be possible

We want to do some more play-testing before sending this up to the default version

Worldwide Sports Fishing - Lotte|EoD
Update with many extensions and improvements
Small splashes on water surface during casting and stroke, jumping fish that now jump at different places and different camera positions in boats (keys 1-0) are nice new features.
But much more extensive are changes in the main menu with new functions.

New submenu to select fishing waters
All waters at a glance, sorted by water type, make the selection easier for beginners and advanced anglers.
Additionally, you can (by clicking on the dice) go to a randomly selected water.


Daily News
In the 'News' section you can now find additional daily news, which are automatically created by the game.
So every special feature is displayed, for example new world records, new casting records, especially big fish caught etc.

Tournaments
There were performance problems in the competitions when the competition had been running for several days. This was simply because the many fish had to be evaluated at certain intervals and the more fish caught, the worse it was for performance.
This problem can now be avoided by switching off the HUD.

Furthermore, it is now possible to display the fish species of the water in competitions (key F2).

New fish species and new 3D models
Newly added are the octopus and the stingray, which can be found in oceans all over the world.
The ray in game is representative of the hundreds of ray species that exist around the globe.
For a few species of fish the 3D models were exchanged for better ones. So for the ugly Nase there is finally a much better model available.
Also Rockfish and Piranha have been exchanged for new -animated- 3D models!

New venue: Volga (Russia)

New venue: Sainte Marie (Madagascar)
An island with a lot of space and a correspondingly fast boat, with which you can get to the desired fishing spot in minutes. With spoiler ːsteamhappyː

This scene is based on the film of the same name 'Big Game', in which Airforce One is shot down over Finland by terrorists and a 15 year old boy takes care of the VIP.

The game has been updated to version 0.1561.

Fixes
- Fixed an issue where defense-wide technology funding would not update correctly if player created the budget as president.
- Fixed an issue in advanced options where changing policy percentages would change the party demographics at the state house, state senate, and congressional levels (for example, reducing the number of independents who support minimum wage would reduce the number of independents in the district).
- Fixed an issue where the budget/appropriations process showed Marine Operational Funding twice, and did not show Air Force Operational Funding.
- Fixed an issue where the president might not vote on all legislation by the end of the year, causing the legislation to disappear at the beginning of the year. If it is the end of the in-game year, the president will now vote on all remaining legislation.
- Fixed an issue where the governor might veto full-day kindergarten legislation after sponsoring the legislation.
Burden of Command™ - Saber72
Seventy-Five years ago today, Sergeant Robert Mathis had just heard that the War in Europe was over. So had the rest of the world.



He marked the occasion by sitting down to write a letter home.

I'm trying to catch up on some of my writing tonight, so don't bawl me out for writing such a short letter. It's been such a long time since I've wrote to anyone, I guess you all have been worried about me.

Well, as you know Sis, the war in Europe is over. I for one am very happy. I still don't know anything about coming home though. I can sweat it out pretty good now that I don't have to live in a foxhole.

I'll close for now, but I'll be writing again soon. I'm sending you a picture of me in this letter. Tell Bill to be ready for that celebration I've been waiting for when I come home.

Sergeant Mathis was an artilleryman in the 8th Infantry Division. He served in every campaign from Normandy the end of the War.
He was also my grandfather.

  • Chainsaws have been added to the game! There are currently three versions available: Hedge Trimmer, Dilmar PS and Ronan Pro.
  • Fuel is now stackable and can be used for both powering chainsaws and for filling your vehicle's tank.

NOTE: You will need to quit the game client and install the update on Steam before theses changes take effect. If the game fails to update, logging out of Steam and back in again usually does the trick.
