StarCrawlers has been updated with a Beautify feature! This optional feature enhances texture fidelity and sharpness, lighting appearance and effects, and enhances visuals overall. In the course of working on our next project (more news soon!) we experimented with retroactively applying the visual upgrades to StarCrawlers - and it worked ːsteamhappyː
The Beautify feature should not have any noticeable impact on the performance or resource usage of the base game. Beautify is enabled by default and can be turned off in the Graphics menu if desired.
UPDATED 04 May 2020 1. Bloom option is now linked to Beautify. You can disable Bloom effects while keeping the other visual enhancements from Beautify. 2. Fixed unintentional graphic glitch when entering Hacking mode using Beautify. 3. Reduced Bloom sensitivity for certain very bright combat effects (Flashbang / Hotlink / etc)
Thanks everyone for the feedback! Stay safe, wash your hands, keep crawling. May the 4th be with you.

We have heard your feedback and now we have some changes to the game that we are excited to share with you.
New Stuff
Level 6 has been extended. Due to this change in the level's length we've reset the leaderboards for this level, since it takes longer to clear now.
An explanation of the controls (controller diagram) has been added to the level select room to show what each button on your controller does.
Changes
Every hitbox has been overhauled. Collisions should now feel a lot more fair. This applies to both obstacles as well as collectables.
Your speed drop off after letting go of a grapple is a lot more gradual. No longer will you immediately plummet to the ground the second you let go of your grapple, instead you'll follow a steady curve.
(the old hitbox system, for reference)
Fixes
Issues with lag causing the game to grind the player to a halt and push them downwards heavily have been patched. The game should be a lot more playable even while experiencing frame drops now.
Free Demo
Alongside these changes we have also released a free demo of the game that includes a couple of the levels in the full title. We know how hard it is to tell whether a VR game is going to be "good" or not from just videos and screenshots, so we want to give a first hand experience to anyone interested in it.
The game is also 50% off in celebration of these changes.
What's Next
Now that we've gotten these technical adjustments out of the way we will be heads down on putting together more levels.
As we roll these levels out we will also be focusing on other features like Steam Achievements and some unlockable secrets for collecting those golden cubes.
From the entire Straylight team we thank you for checking out our game and hope to continue to deliver an enjoyable VR experience to you all.
Another month of Coronavirus... and another month of Solaroids high scores!!
1st place goes to JëbiÐìah this month with a score of 38,401,650. This beats their all-time best last December of 27M.
I've been busy porting Solaroids to other consoles, and mostly playing on another system lately, but had a moment to play a run on Steam and achieved a solid 30M score this time.
Rounding out the top four this time making up for my entry, we have...
3rd place goes to Harnulfson with a score of 9,4762,010.
4th places goes to Blurr with a score of 6,308,155.
Congratulations and stay safe out there!!!
