EVALUATION

Hello Arma 3 Community!

It has been exactly one year since Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany was released. Early on we made it clear that we are dedicated to continuing our post-release support by adding more content in free, follow-up updates. To make good on this promise, last year’s 1.1 update saw the addition of more armored assets and the introduction of the Polish Army faction.

In this blog today we want to give you an outlook on the upcoming 1.2 update and highlight the new aerial units that we will be releasing as part of Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany.

Another Brick in The Mall - The Quadsphere

First things first: a huge THANK YOU to all our early adopters, especially if you submitted feedback, suggestions and bug reports, your support and help have been invaluable and we couldn't have made it without you!

Another big shootout to the modders: Head over to the workshop to enjoy their gigantic malls, fun new products, restaurant skins and more!

It's easy to forget which features were added during early access if you've been here from the start, and also easy to assume it's been that way forever if you're a new player. But it's been a long road and many staple features didn't exist at launch: objects rotation (veterans out there remember!) , offices, shoplifting or the shift planning tool, just to name a few!

Here is a timeline with some of the major features and content added during early access; a lot of them were due to your feedback and suggestions:

Now, what about Another Brick in The Mall's future? Well, we're not done yet!

Although our focus will shift towards a new project from now on, this won't be the last update to Another Brick in The Mall, so your suggestions, big and small, are still much appreciated.

Post 1.0 updates will focus on expanding modding capabilities and removing limitations in an effort to help keep the game fresh long after we're done, with new content from the community.

Official new content is not out of the question but less likely.

Although we fixed thousands of them with your help, some obscure bugs might still persist so your reports are still much needed, and your quality of life suggestions still much appreciated.

If you have bugs to report, please post in the appropriate Discussions for optimal support: http://steamcommunity.com/app/521150/discussions/1/

Here are the patch notes for version 1.0.4 (mostly bug fixes and restaurants, bars and coffee shops can finally open 24/7):

1.0.2
  • Changed: You can now open fine dining restaurants, bars and coffee shops 24/7.
  • Changed: Patrons at bars and coffee shops now leave when waiting for a reorder and their satisfaction reaches 0.
  • Fixed: Various instances where waiters could become corrupted.

1.0.3
  • Changed: When letting go of the opening duration slider of a zone, the zone will now properly close if applicable.
  • Fixed: Building foundations adjacent to outdoor tiles would not generate automatic walls.
  • Fixed: The minimum/base salary being reset when loading a game.
  • Fixed: Misaligned list box items on ultrawide screens.

1.0.4
  • Fixed: People getting stuck waiting for a bus nowhere near a bus stop.
  • Changed: Updated translations with the latest Localizor data.

One last thing: there might be a few new players on the Discussion boards in the coming weeks, asking about mechanics or strategies. Remember, not everyone has been playing the game for 3 years or watched Let's plays before playing: please be nice, and if you can, helpful :)

And now let's get to building!

Space Engineers - Kienata
Flashing Lights - Police, Firefighting, Emergency Services (EMS) Simulator - James Clements

Hello all,

April's Flashing Lights update is now live, delivering new content and bug fixes!

As promised, this update includes functioning vehicle dashboards, displaying speed, tachometer, fuel, and engine temp - along with three new callouts. A missing person callout along with a shoplifting callout have been added for police, as well as a new escaped convict call for the police and EMS. The latter call features a new NPC type too.

Alongside that, we have a bit of a surprise: we're testing larger servers. You can now have up to 20 players in a game, but only when setting up a lobby with a password.

Incoming Flashing Lights Price Increase

Please note that on 7 May, we will be increasing the price of Flashing Lights from $14.99/£11.99/€13.99 to $19.99/£15.99/€16.99. It's been almost two years since we launched the game in Early Access. Countless updates have delivered new content, and so this small price increase reflects the substantial growth of the game since it launched. If the game has been on your wishlist and you're looking to jump in before the price goes up, now is the time.

April 2020 Update Full Patch Notes

New
  • Animated player vehicle dashboards (speed, tachometer, fuel, engine temp)
  • New police and EMS callout: Escaped Convict, featuring a new NPC type (ID: 1025)
  • New police callout: Missing Person (ID: 1027)
  • New police callout: Shoplifting (ID: 1026)
  • We're testing larger servers! You can now have up to 20 players in a game, but only when setting up a lobby with a password.
  • Player vehicle engine sound sync in multiplayer
  • You can now turn on/off 2D vehicle dashboard with F5
  • You can now use grab on NPCs without them being handcuffed
  • Added dispatch debug messages in Log Window (F4), to let you know if a department is to busy to be issued a new callout. In multiplayer, only the host can see them

Fixes
  • Changes to player character, player vehicles, traffic and pedestrian update cycles, potentially reducing lag on servers. Please let us know if any of you who have been experiencing lag have a better experience!
  • Potential fix introduced for the framerate drop which appeared in the March update. Please let us know if it's better - performance will be slightly different on different PCs, so hearing reports from various players helps us massively.
  • Unmarked SUV spotlight brightness adjusted
  • Fixed an issue with the rescue spreaders sync in multiplayer
  • Player character movement animation sync optimized - this was causing lag on start/stop movements
  • Ambulance steering wheel position adjusted to not block gauges visibility
  • Fixed an issue with NPC suspects sometimes shooting a gun while walking
  • Added a filter for dispatch to not issue new callouts or co-op callouts if any departments are already busy with another mission

We cannot wait to keep on evolving Flashing Lights throughout 2020. Take a chance to look at the Q2 2020 roadmap if you are yet to do so:

As previously announced, developer Nils Jakrins is also continuing with some major background work that will ensure Flashing Lights is bigger, better, faster and stronger before the end of the year. More on that in the coming months.

Thanks,
The Flashing Lights Team
