Great news from Arborea! Patch 93 will be hitting our servers before TERA’s 8th Anniversary. From 28th April, you’ll be able to explore the update and – most importantly – your newfound strength: your skills now scale with the stats appropriate to your class. Most of your abilities will be adapted without any input from you. However, if you want an additional stat boost from the new passives, you’ll have to learn them first. Here are all the details about the update. Please note that some names are subject to change and may differ in the final release.
Reworked Skills General
You can now find exact numbers in the description texts of skills. This allows healers, for example, to see how many hit points they can heal with their skills based on their current stats. Physical penetration, magic penetration, ignore physical resistance and ignore magic resistance stats have been added to all character profiles.
Below is an overview of the new passives and changes to existing skills.

Preview: 64-Bit Improvement
At the start of April, a test environment was released in Korea where a new 64-bit-optimized game client was tested. This is expected to considerably improve the game’s performance. In particular, this should greatly reduce the number of RAM crashes and micro lags when loading certain elements. We’re still not in a position to announce when we will be able to release this update, but we wanted to let you know about this exciting upcoming change now. You’ll find out more as soon as the exact details are known, of course!
You’re on to the 8th day of the Community Challenge, around 57% through the allotted time, and you’re around 56% through the required kills. When we set out we wanted this to be somewhere between a ‘safe’ and ‘nail-biting’ challenge. Right now, however, we’re out of nails and we’re chewing on fingers.
We’re hoping this bonus length double XP weekend and the promise of a bonus triple XP day for completing the challenge is enough to tip the scales! Now get slaying! (but first, check out the rest of this Developer Update of course!)
Cosmetic in Concept
This week we want to show you a work in progress of a premium cosmetic item we’re working on. One of many, this hat is looking perfect for Huntsman Kruber. This concept is as mentioned a work in progress and can change during development, as well as sometimes work in progress items can be pulled from production for various reasons. But we wanted to share this with you!
We took inspiration for this unique item from an art book called ‘Blood on the Reik’. Tell us what you think? Would you want this in your Kruber wardrobe? Do you have the book and see any other inspirations you’d like us to take? Hit us up in the comments below!
Community Art
Last week we featured some less traditional fan art here in the update, and this week we have seen a huge influx of more traditional creations by some of the hugely talented artists in the community and we’d like to take this opportunity to showcase some of those!
Thanks all for sharing your art with us! You're all incredibly talented, and it really warms us to see such talent being used to showcase a project we really love being involved in.
REDDIT CONTEST
Last but by no means least, the crew over on the Vermintide sub are hosting a VerminLore Crafting contest!
Like to write? Like theorycrafting? Then this contest is for you!
In this Reddit contest, your goal will be to write an as of yet untold bit of flavor for the Vermintide universe.
Have theories on Saltzpyre's life while he was still apprenticing as a blacksmith? Want to theorize on Olyesa's card games? Or maybe you fancy you know exactly who Lohner is and what he's hiding. The Reddit mods want to know! They will be issuing prizes, so why not give your penmanship a go and be in with a chance of winning some sweet prizes!
Here's the latest episode of our vlog. Give it a watch and learn a little bit about the vegetation system in The Riftbreaker!
I also have a bit of bad news today. Producing these vlogs is a little more time-consuming than I initially expected, so I will have to cut down to only one episode per week. That means you will still get regular content and it will be much more polished, though! Hope that's okay :) - Void
The Frigid Tundra is a dangerous place to traverse through, both explorers and residents alike are subjected to unrelenting winds and subzero temperatures. It is not uncommon for one to claim seeing phantasms in the day or wild visions of beasts in the night. If you strain your ears and listen closely, you can almost hear a soft melody of bells and chimes whenever in the Tundra, you would be forgiven for assuming it a hallucination but in fact it is simply the Magnus, Shime.
The Shime are a peculiar bunch of magnus that grows natural musical bells and instruments on their body. The Library is unsure whether the Shime is mimicking the instruments that it has seen before, or if our human instruments are in fact imitations of the Shime’s physiology. The music of the Shime has a two-fold effect, it can both aid and harm the listener depending on the intention of the Shime. There are testimonies of explorers having different reactions to the same song of the Shime.
My personal encounter with the Shime is quite uneventful. During our trek towards the elevated areas of the Tundra, my party came across a group of wondering Shime clinking and ringing in the air. We stayed quite a distance away from them until one of my party was brave enough to approach quietly. When he came about a couple of yards away, the Shimes immediately bunched together in a defensive position, a constant ring permeating the air. We backed down quite hurriedly and took another path up the mountain.
