I spot Fred and Velma, but who's Scooby?

Interactive horror series The Dark Pictures Anthology plunged into the depths of the ocean in its first episode Man Of Medan. The next horrific tale is headed to somewhere in small town North America to get tangled up in the spooky history of witch hunting. A new trailer hints at some of the dark forces at play: dark magic, religious fervor, and maybe actual demons? No matter what the truth of the situation ends up being, Little Hope looks plenty spooky and grim. It will arrive sometime this summer.

I’m not a big one for early previews myself, but having played the demo for Beyond A Steel Sky, the new pointy-clicky 3D adventure game from Revolution Games, I will concede that it was an hour and a half of my time well spent on puzzles and robots and hacking.

Beyond A Steel Sky is set in a sort of Mad-Max-meets-cyberpunk dystopian mash-up from Charles “Broken Sword” Cecil, and famous comics artist Dave “Watchmen” Gibbons. The game’s traditionally rubbish, genre staple name is actually a hangover from the game to which this is a sequel, Beneath A Steel Sky, where gruff everyman Robert Foster and his AI robot pal Joey freed a city-state from the clutches of its evil AI overlord. Now, years later, Foster is dealing with the aftermath.

Riot have changed up the beta key dropping process for their upcoming tactical shooter, Valorant, making it so anyone who streams the game on Twitch can enable drops for their viewers. For those of you still trying to get access to the coveted closed beta, it basically means you don’t have to watch the same handful of official streams to get one.

This doesn’t increase the number of drops Riot are giving out mind you, it just means there are more streams you can watch now to get your hands on one.

Yesterday, Fallout 76 arrived on Steam, bringing with it the brand new Wastelanders update. It almost seems like a total refresh for the game, introducing human NPCs, warring factions, quests to complete, as well as a bunch of much needed quality of life changes to the Wastelands of Appalachia. You’d almost think Bethesda added all these things purely to spite 76’s players however, because shortly after the game went live, Steam users attempted to review-bomb it.

The damage-dealing hero Echo has arrived in Overwatch. Like a Mercy who has ripped up her Hippocratic Oath, she glides around the map blasting away with her robot gunhands. Or maybe she’s more like a Pharah that’s way more manoeuvrable? Oh no, she just turned into a Roadhog. What have you done, Blizzard?

Receiver - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Matt Cox)

I’ve played Receiver 2 for all of 20 minutes, and my heart is ready to vacate my mouth. The sequel to 2013’s tense and fiddly roguelike is out, and it is immediately electrifying. It’s about crawling over dark rooftops punctured by the ominous blue of murder turrets, while screaming at guns that demand you press a gazillion buttons before they fire.

Please do not let this one pass you by.

The more I play of Valorant, the more my respect for it increases. Riot are onto something good with their hybrid of CS:GO and Overwatch, and I’m not just saying that because of this video where I kill an entire enemy team by myself.
