I feel weird about it, but man I can't describe how excited I am for this. It's been one heck of a year, and I can't wait to hear what ya'll think of it.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who've supported me on my journey. Friends, family, ya'll on twitter, facebook, reddit, youtube. Your support, kind words and excitement for the game have motivated me & brightened up my days immensely, I can't thank you enough for this.

Today's update is mostly about maintenance and fixing issues reported since the December 2019 update. You will find all the changes below.

Changelist:
  • Dedicated server now offers the possibility to set an incident point limit. Any player going above that defined amount will get instantly disqualified.
  • Dedicated server manager page now shows the points accumulated by each player in real time, rather than the amount of incident events involving that player.
  • Reputation - Improved detection of Non Starter participants on long tracks such as the Nordschleife.
  • Reputation - Car to car collisions are now worth 4 points. Losing Control of the vehicle is now worth 2 points.
  • Flat Spots - Reduced further tyre wear on flat spots, which makes them vanish quicker with tyre wear.
  • Flat Spots - Fixed some bad framerate when locking a tyre on a flat spot while in gravel or grass.
  • Suspension damage - Fixed some cases where a car with suspension damage could sometimes be seen shot into the air.
  • Car Setup - Fixed Setup rules are now properly affecting the car setup menu.
  • Car Setup - Changed so 4WD cars differential changes affect the rear differential instead of the front.
  • Fixed shift sounds playing twice in replays.
  • Fixed an issue where HUD elements would show in replays if the client was started with -broadcastUrl=http://**
  • Fixed some sorting / timing issues in client's position bar
  • Fixed a case where entering the pitlane could sometimes result in the lap being invalidated
  • Fixed rolling start qualifying where the car, under AI control, would try and dodge other players around the spawn location, even though they're invisible.
  • Fixed wrong values fed to Spectator overlays for live gaps between cars.
  • Fixed smoke not rendering from Aerial TV cameras.
  • Fixed an old Helpdesk URL that the client was attempting to load after throwing an error. It's now changed to point to the Sector3 Studios forums.

  • Porsche 911 GT3 Cup - The current model has now been modified to Endurance specs. The car now has Traction Control as well as more car setup adjustments allowed. The Cup specs will now be only available in upcoming Porsche Carrera Cup classes.
  • RUF CTR3 + RT12R GT2 and GT3 - Fixed a bad collision box
  • Silhouette Class - Physics updates
  • WTCC 2015/2016 - Fixed Chevrolet Cruze not having adjustable Tyre Pressure
  • Mount Panorama (Bathurst) - Tweaks to pitlane ambient sounds
  • Ningbo - Flipped the starting grid so the pole position starts on the right side, on the trajectory.
  • Nuerburgring GP Fast Chicane - Fixed rolling starts that could sometimes be bad for AI.
  • Portimao (all layouts) - Moved the spawn location used in Time Attack and rolling start qualifying.
  • Silverstone - Fixed AI running wide in turn 1 after a rolling start on GP and International layouts.
  • Zhuhai - Improved performance
  • Zolder - AI control in pitlane should no longer result in hitting a guardrail

Announcement:

In this update, we had to heavily modify the looks of some fantasy liveries that had Red Bull sponsoring since their original release. The Red Bull brand guidelines now enforce the brand to only be used as replica's of existing cars and liveries, never on fantasy cars. As some of the liveries were sold, we will be looking into refunding the 29 vRP's to your in-game wallets in the coming days.

  • Added "Gates Closed" for the Gatekeeper Emblem bonus when ending the trial with the gates closed.
  • Removed the "Generators Remaining" stipulation from the Gatekeeper Emblem
  • Treatment Theatre: Reworked the Totems spawn location to hide them better.

BUG FIXES

  • Treatment Theatre: Fixed an issue that caused the Survivors to be unable to unhook their teammate if the Killer is "facecamping" on a specific hook
  • Fixed the display of the "Sealed Shut" Archive challenge which erroneously read "Survivor Master Challenge"
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Rift progress bar to disappear from the widget when no challenges are available.

This devlog was originally planned for last week. Fortunately we had some good progress on Beta 29, which allowed me to postpone the devlog till today, but also include the official release date of Beta 29!



Beta 29 Sneak Peek: Fusion Server
The Fusion Server is here! It's expensive and generates a lot of heat, but it's also the first server to produce all 3 types of throughput.



Beta 29 Sneak Peek: Tidal Power Investment Project
The new Tidal Power investment project will unlock both the Fusion Heat Transformer and the Fusion Server. The upfront payment is $28,000,000 and the minimum daily budget is $1,200,000.

I think you'll like this one: Beta 29 will be publicly available this Friday (February 7) at 20:00 CET (11am PST).

Conqueror's Blade - Sapozhnik
The high plateau of Wuqing provides contrasting extremes: cold winds and warm skies, wide-open spaces and direct lanes of attack. First impressions here can be deceiving…

HISTORY

The old fortress above the caves of Wuqing has been abandoned for so long that it’s hard to tell that it was once a fortress at all. Weathered by centuries of harsh winters and even harsher battles, it seems to stand only out of spite - as a reminder of a region that was once settled and prosperous. The nomadic tribes that claim the area today are less concerned with its history, viewing the rocky cupola as merely a place to converge. One day it will fall, long after they have all moved on.



SCOUTING REPORT

Welcome to Wuqing Plains. This new map comprises two key areas, the bulk of which is rolling and open terrain, pocked by villages. This makes the landscape perfect for rapid movement and mounted charges.

With two capture points in close proximity of one another, it would seem an obvious strategy to concentrate efforts at the centre of the map. However, while a surprise attack in the right place can yield quick benefits, all warlords know that it is just as easy to lose open ground as it is to win it

Putting the plains below in sharp relief - literally - are the caves that dominate them, atop which is an ancient tower that guards the primary capture point. While there are numerous routes winding up and the around the rocks, the high ground is much easier to hold on to. However, while doing so may have some advantages, one capture point cannot bring victory on its own. Both sides will have to consider carefully whether the high or the low route will suit them best.



GENERAL TIPS
  • All three capture points are more-or-less equidistant from both sides’ starting location. Coordinate your initial assault and don’t spread your forces too thin by trying to take too many capture points too quickly!
  • If you lose your horse in battle, you can claim a new one from Supply Points that are under your control. Although they do not respawn once claimed, you can dismount a supply horse and come back to it later - or leave it somewhere where it may be more convenient.



CAPTURE POINT A
  • There are numerous paths leading to the capture points, making it difficult to protect them all. However, the archway in the old tower is a great place in which to station ranged units or counter-attacking reinforcements.
  • On either side of the mesa, there are stairways leading up from the caves that can be used to hide an approach - or an escape.
  • The stone pathway leading down towards Point B will be the main point of conflict. Use its steepness to your advantage when attacking towards the centre of the map.



CAPTURE POINT B
  • With there being such a direct line between all three capture points, combined with the style of terrain, Point B will be the most difficult to keep control of. Make sure you have enough support to maintain a defence - sometimes it’s best to keep the bulk of your units behind the capture zone, counterattacking in numbers only when the enemy moves to take it.
  • Perhaps instead of concentrating on Point B, it may be more fruitful to try to outflank your opponent by attacking the point beyond it - if only to draw more forces away.



CAPTURE POINT C
  • Because of its more defensible position and distance from Capture Point A, Point C is a good location to secure first. Its proximity to Point B makes it a useful fall-back point.
  • As the capture point is located in a small depression, if it’s being heavily defended, try attacking from the elevated terrain behind.
