The new update is here! What a glorious time to be alive!

Now, this one might not look to fancy on the surface, but it's quite mighty! The list of improvements includes, but is not limited to:

  • A spectacular amount of bug fixes
  • An impressive optimization done: the game runs smoother than ever before
  • Another round of clearing out typos in the texts
  • Improved tutorials, especially on the tricky parts, such as using custom nodes
  • Certain quests were slightly rebalanced
  • Interface was tweaked as well
  • Last but not least: a new mode for visually challenged players. Blocks are bigger and interacting with them is way easier, once you turn it on

That's one step closer to perfection! Per aspera ad astra and all that!

Soul Axiom Rebooted - WI Community Manager

Upgraded Engine
Our initial plans to upgrade Soul Axiom started out small but as time went on we realised to get all the updates we wanted out of it we needed to completely upgrade the Unity engine by a significant amount of iterations. This meant we pretty much had to rebuild the game, from scratch.

Full VR Support
One of the most exciting features we are proud to announce is full VR support for HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Valve Index and Windows Mixed Reality. The entire game is playable in VR and the VR version is coupled with the non-VR version, so you can switch between the two if you wish. To find out all the VR detailed, see our thread here.

Added localization support
We have overhauled the underneath of the game to include support for additional languages including French, German, Russian, Simplified Chinese,Ukrainian and Turkish. We will consider adding more languages if there is enough request…so let us know if there’s a language you’d like to see supported in the game!

New Objective System
Feeling lost? Trapped in a memory? Utilise the new objective system to reveal your current goal. You are just one click away from... realising that inconspicuous box right next to you is the key to all your problems.

Added Checkpoints to the memory levels
Soul Axiom is a big game with some large levels. Can’t figure out the end of a puzzle but don’t want to lose your progress? The 'Ax now features a healthy number of mid-level checkpoints to pick up where you left off the next time you visit that memory.

Improved narrative
The mystery of your digital afterlife is a complex tale with a depth of lore that stems from Master Reboot. While this was applauded by many, we listened to your feedback and realised how the story unravelled was sometimes quite... muddy. We have reassessed and adjusted the order of the memory clips so that you receive both the corrupted AND the restored memories at the same time, which makes it a little easier to piece together the unfolding events.

Reduced Ending Requirements
We have reduced the requirements to reach the ending so you can complete the game in less time, but achievement and lore hunters will still be able to play the extra content. Soul Axiom Rebooted is no longer a 100% puzzle completion game – meaning if you’re stuck on a few but still want to unlock one of the three endings, you can.

Permanent Price Drop Plus FREE DLC
To celebrate the Rebooted edition of Soul Axiom, we’re permanently reducing the base price of the game to £9.99 / €9,99 / $12.99. Additionally, we are giving away the Artbook & Soundtrack DLC for free with every purchase. The artbook can be viewed in-game as well as via the files in the DLC download.

QoL Improvements
- Added restart & return to hub options in the pause menu
- Fullscreen exclusive added
- Allow the use of powers whilst sprinting
- Increased the speed of powers by 80%
- Added option to skip cutscenes
- Improved controller interactions
- Default to toggle crouch

General Improvements
- Major optimisations throughout the game
- Improved gameplay in several levels
- Various bug fixes throughout the game

Visual Improvements
- Replace many static lights with dynamic lights
- Added screen-space reflections
- Increased lightmaps
- Improved some colour grading and post-processing effects

Soul Axiom: Legacy Version
The original game will be removed from the Steam store. You will soon not be able to buy the game. However, if you already own Soul Axiom, the game will still be in your library and you will still be able to play that version if you wish. Game collectors rejoice ːsteamhappyː
Making it Home - Sean
Good news everybody!

Tomorrow night Dave and I will be streaming the latest build of Making it Home. This will be a great chance for you to see how the game is coming along and ask those burning questions.

First of all, we'd like to thank everyone for your support. It's been a rough time, and to be honest is still is, but your support helped us stay positive and focus on the work. 

So, in the last two months we've made a lot of changes to the game. Firstly, there is only one mode left - the summoning. The game had been started with this mode and we felt that the core fun laid in these quick, frantic battles. That's why we concentrated our effort on it. 

The mode was slightly re-imagined thematically, but in its core remained the same. We've added two more enemies to fill the empty niches, created 6 new arenas, made a quick tutorial that should help you get into the game's flow much easier. The waves and enemies were re-balanced. A ton of under the hood changes and optimization. We're also working on the post for the SW

Now to the main topic of this update. The new release date has been set on the 14th of February. Also to reflect all the changes and the missing mode we decided to price the game at 5.99$. 

If you bought the game before and haven't requested a refund yet please, please, please do so before the 14th. 
We do hope you'll like what we've made. And even though it's a much smaller game now, we believe it's gotten better.
