Blizzard have cancelled Overwatch League matches scheduled to take place in China in February and March, owing to concerns about the new coronavirus going round. First identified in China in December, the virus has now killed 170 people. A Chinese League Of Legends tournament also recently was cancelled due to the virus. Blizzard say they plan to return OWL to China later this season.

Kentucky Route Zero: PC Edition - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Alec Meer)

This is the story of a journey s end. But no homecoming can have meaning in isolation from the voyage that preceded it. This is why offering some critical judgement upon the fifth and (as far as we know) final Act of the interstate dream odyssey that is Kentucky Route Zero is an exercise in absurdity. It cannot be separated from what came before, nor from how the long years of waiting altered its place and power in memory. It also, perhaps, cannot be separated from how the world has changed during those long years.

So the following must be about all of those things, and not just the final moments of a landmark in videogame storytelling. To call Act V a climax, or a finale, or a denouement, is incorrect. Unexpectedly short and sharp, yet still wide of focus, it s more of an epilogue to a decade-long journey which reached its final destination three and a half years ago.

With the open beta for Legends of Runeterra now live, it’s best to have an idea of which cards you need to construct the the best decks. There are some decks that rely on having expensive cards, but we’ve had a look around for some budget decks that are nowhere near as expensive to create. So while you work on refining how to play the game and when to time your spell casting, here are the best decks in Legends of Runeterra.

The Pedestrian - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Matt Cox)

The opening of puzzle-platformer The Pedestrian plays like a Disney short. It’s got that same sense of polished wonder, in a world like ours but the rules are a bit different. You start as a smudge on a whiteboard, then venture rightwards into a world of rearrangeable street signs. You’re the man from the toilet sign. The bloke struggling with the umbrella. You’re Helvetica man (or woman), puzzling your way through the big city by connecting doors, collecting keys, and twiddling with power switches.

The Pedestrian popped out last night, and it oozes promise.

Praetorians - HD Remaster - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Ghoastus)

Ave, citizens! Although October (the month of Ghoastus) is still far off, a game about Romans has been released, which means that, as per the terms of my binding, Nate has been forced to summon me to review it. When I heard about Praetorians – HD Remaster, I couldn t wait to enter Nate s PC via the floppy disc drive and haunt it for the weekend. I knew some Praetorians in my time, you see, and I was excited to see how their rollicking tactical adventures had been portrayed for this strange digital age.

Alas though, citizens. I come to bury Praetorians, not to praise it.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Sin Vega)

We often get excited about a game doing more things. Who amongst us has not enthused about a game on the basis that “and you can x and you can y, wouldn’t it be cool if you could z as well”?

V: Rings of Saturn has some more growing to do, principally in its promised story. But it’s already got this calming, almost hypnotic core of carefully, skilfully flying through hazardous space, and eating rocks.

Halo: Reach - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Lauren Morton)

343 Industries have released their January development update for the Halo: Master Chief Collection and it’s a chunky one. The update goes over progress made on all of the Halo games that 343 are bringing to PC as part of the collection, from test flight plans to matchmaking playlists, and Halo Forge. I’ll stick to the last one and let you read the rest of the novel if you so choose.

I won’t blame you if you don’t click on this post. The image is horrifying I know. If you pop on in here I promise I’ll try to teach you a thing or so about Khajiit morphology using this ridiculous mod for The Elder Scrolls: Arena. If you can’t see it for any reason, it’s the head of Garfield, the 1978 version of the comic book character, on top of the cat-like player characters from the first Elder Scrolls game. It’s truly something.

After a good run of free game updates, Dead Cells is getting its first paid DLC. Matt got to try out the Bad Seed DLC late last year and chat with the off-shoot studio Evil Empire who created it for Motion Twin’s hacky and slashy roguevanialike game. The official gameplay trailer for the DLC has landed today with a date next month for its release.
