Hello folks!

Today, we are releasing one of DemonCrawl's biggest patches since launch! The theme of this update is balance changes, which happened to rank quite high in our feature poll. (Speaking of which, we will be creating a separate post for the poll results later today - so stay tuned for that!)

In the meantime, let's go over some of the highlights in today's patch. Full patch notes are available below as well.



We have extended the Token Shop with a few new legendary items. These items are meant to help out certain builds that lacked powerful, synergistic enablers (specifically Electric, Canker, and Bone builds.)

We have also re-classified Thicker Skin as a passive item. We like Thicker Skin's effect, but it simply doesn't match up against the other legendary items in the pool.



7 items have been completely reworked, in additional to several smaller changes to other items. Over 30 items have had their prices adjusted.

  • Added 3 new avatars in cooperation with some fantastic DemonCrawl Twitch streamers
  • New Casual Mode setting to enable or disable stage mods
  • A new tab has been added to the Help menu for stage mods
  • New Token Shop legendary item: Bone Casket - "Item chests also contain Bones. If you are not injured when you bury Bones, gain souls instead of restoring life."
  • New Token Shop legendary item: Ointment - "Whenever you discover a 4 or greater, pacify a Canker. If there are no Cankers to pacify, spawn one instead."

  • Patron Saint rework, changed from passive to magic: "[20/20 Mana] Spend 5 coins on target stranger and convert it to a familiar."
  • Arcane Staff rework, changed from magic to passive: "The first diamond you collect each turn will fully charge a random magic item."
  • Divine Lantern rework: "[300 Mana] Glean target hidden cell. If it's not a 0, this item retains its mana."
  • Scribe rework, there are now 3 different types of Scribes
  • New Daily Mission: Down With the System - "Destroy 3 signs."
  • New Daily Mission: Waive the Flag - "Earn 100 points from Flagless awards."
  • New Daily Mission: Think of the Children - "Earn 100 points from Charitable awards."
  • New Daily Mission: Don't Blink - "Earn 100 points from Fast awards."
  • New Daily Mission: Float Like a Butterfly - "Earn 100 points from Untouchable awards."
  • New Daily Mission: Tightwad - "Earn 100 points form Thrifty awards."

Overcrowd: A Commute 'Em Up - pH_101
Hi all

For a few days there has been a bug affecting new players, preventing the creation of the Sandbox folder. Apologies to anyone this has affected, it's frustrating to lose data. It is now fixed, thanks for letting me know and for your patience.

If you see a temp_dat.dat file and move it from your Documents/Overcrowd folder into the newly created Overcrowd/Sandbox (the folder is made when you first successfully save a sandbox game) you may also be able to retrieve the most recently lost sandbox save.

Wukong
VIII Wukong is a cruiser named after the Monkey King—one of the main mythological characters in Chinese culture. Sun Wukong is an immortal demon who acquired extraordinary powers after long years of wandering in the pursuit of spiritual perfection. His adventures are described in the Chinese classical novel "Journey to the West." In World of Warships, the cruiser represents Pan-Asia at Tier VIII. She carries a combination of French artillery and Pan-Asian long-range deepwater torpedoes.

Key features:
  • Nine 203 mm guns placed in three turrets. The cruiser can boast of having artillery with a good range and a fast reload time for the caliber
  • Two triple-tube torpedo launchers. The deepwater torpedoes of this ship have a low detectability range; good torpedo range for her tier—12 km; and a high maximum damage of 18,400 HP per hit, but they are not capable of striking destroyers
  • The Torpedo Reload Booster consumable, placed in a separate slot, allows her to launch one torpedo salvo 8 seconds after another several times during the course of a battle
  • The Spotting Aircraft consumable temporarily extends the firing range of her main guns
  • She earns more credits per battle, and her permanent camouflage adds a 50% XP bonus per battle and reduces the cost of the ship's post-battle service by 10%

Bajie
IX Bajie is a battleship named after a half-man, half-pig being, and one of the main mythological characters in Chinese culture. Zhu Bajie is a wizard who achieved immortality, but was later expelled from the heavens and condemned to walk the earth as punishment for his human passions. His adventures are described in the Chinese classical novel "Journey to the West." In World of Warships, the ship represents Pan-Asia at Tier IX.

Key features:
  • Nine 410 mm guns placed in three turrets. All the guns are mounted at the fore end of the ship. The battleship has artillery with a medium range for her tier and enjoys good shell grouping
  • Good secondary battery with a 7 km standard range and chances between 8–10% of setting the target on fire, depending on the gun type
  • Access to the Spotting Aircraft consumable, which increases her firing range, or the Fighter consumable, which is used to repel air attacks
  • She earns more credits per battle, and her permanent camouflage adds a 100% XP bonus per battle and reduces the cost of the ship's post-battle service by 20%

VIII Siliwangi is a Soviet destroyer built under Project 30-bis and transferred to the Indonesian Navy in 1959. In World of Warships, she represents Pan-Asia at Tier VIII and comes equipped with the Hydroacoustic Search consumable with a large action range, as well as deepwater torpedoes.

  • Four 130 mm guns placed in two turrets. Firing range—12.5 km; reload time—5 seconds

  • The Hydroacoustic Search consumable enables her to detect enemy ships at distances of up to 5.5 km, and torpedoes at distances of up to 3.75 km
  • The Smoke Generator consumable sets a smoke screen for 30 seconds. Smoke screen dispersion time—70 seconds. The enhanced consumable has a cooldown period of just 100 seconds
  • She earns more credits per battle, and her permanent camouflage adds a 50% XP bonus per battle and reduces the cost of the ship's post-battle service by 10%

Dragons
In Update 0.9.0, cruisers VII Southern Dragon and VII Eastern Dragon have become Premium ships and received all associated in-game economic bonuses. During the Lunar New Year celebrations, bundles with the Dragon ships, Dragon signals, and unique Commanders are available in the game.

Southern Dragon
VII Southern Dragon is named after Ào Qin—the Dragon King of the South Sea in Chinese tradition. In World of Warships, she is a typical representative of Japanese cruisers—a well-armed and durable ship carrying powerful artillery and long-range torpedoes.

  • Ten 203 mm guns placed in five turrets. Her main guns are peculiar for their very powerful HE shells, but are inferior to the guns of other same-tier heavy cruisers in terms of firing range and rate of fire

Ships are credited with a Port slot and Commander with 10 skill points. Bajie and Wukong come with same-name unique Commanders. If you purchase a ship or camouflage after you purchase a container, but before having opened it, and the container drops a ship or camouflage that you already have, you'll receive compensation for the value of the ship or camouflage in the form of doubloons. In the case of a ship being dropped, you will also receive a Commander with 10 skill points and a Port slot.
    Premium containers offer higher chances of dropping Premium ships or permanent camouflages than standard containers.
Conqueror's Blade - Sapozhnik


How fast can you take out a Rebel Camp? That’s the question being asked by Conqueror’s Blade players Shou and IceEagle, who between them are running an event they’re calling Rebel Camp Speedrun. Starting today and up until February 21st, everyone is invited to enter!

The idea is actually very simple: Get a trio of warlords together, assemble your army from the available troops, complete an easy Rebel Camp as quickly as you can and then send the organisers evidence of your accomplishment. If you are among the fastest teams, you could win Sovereigns, Premium Account time and Silver.

Changing Weapon in Combat
One of the goals that we set ourselves very early on was that we wanted combat to be dynamic/ever-changing.

This means that we intentionally created the game with enemies that need to be tackled using different weapons. For example, it would be hard (not impossible) to tackle the Vayusra when armed with the Trishul.
