Disintegration is V1 Interactive’s upcoming sci-fi FPS meets RTS about putting human brains into robot bodies, and riding hoverbikes into battle to stop a civil war. I recently got a chance to find out a bit more about it all from game director Marcus Lehto (who you might recognise as one of the original creators of Halo).
He revealed some details about the multiplayer, what to expect from next week’s beta, and let us know a bit of the background on developing Disintegration’s new style of combat.

Hyperspace: Pirates Of Atira is a co-op space ship sim in which players manually operate different parts of the ship, physically running about its interior as needed. An Alpha version was released last week, and though it may be early days, the promise of space piracy overlapping with petty office arguments was too much for me to resist.
Matt and I had a bit of a play around with it. Join me then, as I recount The Tragical Death of Captain Farts.
It has come to my attention that some people have not played the Half-Life games, to which I can only say: mate, I think you might really like it. Valve will soon return to the series after thirteen years with Half-Life: Alyx in March, and ahead of that they’re inviting everyone to catch up on the story so far. From now until the launch of Alyx, the Half-Life games are free for everyone to play in full on Steam. You know, some of these really are quite good.
Empire builders, rejoice. Thanks to the latest Humble Bundle, you can now conquer the whole of Europa Universalis IV and its many, many expansion packs for as little as 13 / $17, or just get the base game (and six other DLC packs) for a single US dollar – that’s 76p in the UK! That’s an outright steal if ever I saw one, so why not read on for the full list of Europa-themed spoils?

If you’ve spent the past two decades fantasising about enslaving wild creatures to do your bidding, boy howdy, do I have good news. Temtem is a Pokemon-inspired MMO for PC that came out on early access yesterday. Everything you know and love from the Pokemon games you were never allowed to play is here. Gyms are dojos, trainers are tamers, and your menagerie of adorable fighting beasts use elemental attacks in turn-based battles. It is Pokemon with synonyms and multiplayer. You might like that.
If you’re in search of a new gaming monitor and have been contemplating the move up to 4K, then does your deals herald have a deal for you. The excellent Acer Nitro XV273K is currently 150 off as part of Acer’s Winter UK sale right now, taking its normal price of 900 down to a more palatable 750. It’s not just monitors that are on sale, either. There are loads of Acer laptop deals to be had as well, including 200 off Acer’s Predator Triton 500 laptop and Helios 300 laptop. Of course, I’d normally save this sort of stuff for my end of the week round-up, but there’s only one day left in Acer’s Winter sale, so you’ll need to act fast if you want to pick them up.

I m not sure if me playing Lego Island really happened or if it was a fever dream. Even watching back videos of the game, I still can t believe it was a thing. Let alone a thing I sunk a load of time into. Let alone as thing I spent a lot of time with as a child>. It s nightmare fuel.
Smash cut to: the vile, spluttering face of the Cowboy, who is drowning in a swamp. As his strength gives out and his legs stop kicking, those craggy features slip at last below the surface, turning sepia in the murk before vanishing entirely. A shaking hand, still crusted with alligator blood, claws for the sky as it follows him under. Then he is gone. His only memorial is a trio of bubbles, that wobble to the surface and burst in a puff of whiskey vapour. He died, apparently, because he could not take cocaine while swimming.
Howdy folks! It s time for the second episode in this series of short films following my adventures through the grim darkness of Red Dead Redemption 2, as I led Matthew and Dave into Cowboy Purgatory during the RPS Christmas livestream. Last time, we went on what was billed as a nature tour, but which rapidly descended into a one-man mass extinction, despite my best intentions going in. This time, we’re headed to the Big City.

Really, what I wanted to talk about was Medal of Honor: Allied Assault – one of the very greatest first-person shooters ever made, and my first ever introduction into the world of competitive online FPS games. But Graham beat me to it several years back.
So instead I’ll talk about Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, which was less notable in most respects, save for one: it featured the most ridiculously overpowered gun I’ve ever come across in any game.
The Samsung T7 Touch is the latest member of Samsung’s portable SSD family. Like the Samsung T5 before it, this titchy drive has a lovely, sleek aluminium chassis that’s roughly the same size as a couple of stacked credit cards. Only now it has a fancy fingerprint reader for extra security and supports the nippier USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard, leading to sequential read and write speeds that are almost twice as fast as its T5 predecessor. Is it necessarily a better buy than the best gaming SSD-grade T5, though? Here’s wot I think.
