Thanks for checking out our 2nd Alpha Devblog! Some of you might be new here so thanks much for the support! The team pushed out an update just before the Christmas/New year holiday and then took some much needed time off. We've been back at it for a couple of weeks now and have been busy at work with the 1.2 patch! Below are just a couple of features and mechanics we've been working on. Check out the full changelog here.
Lock Mechanic Rework (Coming in 1.2)
Our lock system is rather unique. It's also not had too much attention since its introduction. After our last patch, we received quite a few heated bug reports. It seems there are instances where locks simply didn't work, among other issues. The last couple of weeks James and the team have spent a good deal of time reworking the system.
Lock kits can now be removed while they are unlocked and reset.
Created functionality for weaker crafted lock kits.
Now have the option to hide the pin code being entered. This allows streamers to use the locks without worrying about their code being visible.
Locks can now have multiple owners (Auto locking/unlocking) by snapping a lock shut with the correct pin entered.
Locks now only scramble on opening/closing of UI rather than after a lock has been snapped shut from within the UI.
Added new weaker craftable lock kit variant.
Lock code starting with 0 now work correctly. Previously locks would break after server restart.
Locks no longer show in the locked state after trying to lock with 0000.
Resolved issue with locks where the highlight would appear again after taking items from a container.
Locks can now be operated with keyboard num inputs.
Locks now have additional UI to help explain lock function.
All new lock UI added which is bigger and clearer to understand
Placed locks now show on the map including after death so that players can return to their locked containers.
A lot of players have requested their placed locks be noted on map. This will allow them to return to their goods easier upon death along with a nice little death marker. Both of these were highly requested with our in game suggestion feature. Please consider using it above all else to report bugs and suggest features. It can be reached by pressing escape and clicking report bug or F1. This information is sent directly to the team and the more reports or suggestions the more time we can dedicate to the feature or issue.
Lock Markers - The highlighted one will be your last placed but all will be tracked.
Lock and death markers - this should ease the burden of getting back to your loot and location.
Craftable Compass
Many have requested a craftable compass variant. We've added that for 1.2 with a slight change to compass mechanics. Crafted ones and found compass both work the same just at different speeds.
Another massively requested feature was a way for players to tell the time of day. The guys have spent some time this week working on a system just for that. You'll be able to access it with "F" just like the rest of your stats.
Time Display on Inspect (F)
Time Display Readouts
Weight and other Information Readouts on Hover
Another much requested feature is weight on hover. The 1.2 patch will feature the ability to hover over items and get a readout on the current item your hovering ons weight along with ammo amount.
Displaying weight and ammo amounts on hover
Airport Point of Interest
The airport strip in game is, well, quite lackluster to say the least. The structure was removed some time ago and reworks have started for 1.2 patch. The airport will feature out buildings (hangars) broken down planes alongside a massive terminal. There are a lot of feature mechanics going in here. The perimeter will be sealed and you'll need to power the structure to open the gates for vehicles access. The terminal itself will feature an armory far more challenging than the current police station armory. We'll have some video and more design in the next devblog but below is a quick sneak peek at some of the airport plans.
Interior boarding area
Exterior terminal
Hangar
Thanks for checking out our second alpha devblog. We'll do our best to get a devblog out as often as possible aside from patch weeks. Please consider switching over to our experimental branch if you're interested in upcoming features as they will be first released there. We're hoping to have the next patch out on experimental branch by the end of the month. Thanks for the continued support and continued issue and suggestion reporting :). Below are some helpful links to anyone new and interested in the game. If you'd like to follow a bit closer, please consider joining our Discord. We're here, we're listening!
Welcome back! This weekly update will be about the Metaverse Training Center. The Metaverse Training Center, or MTC for short, has been and still is a long and challenging project. It’s goal is to give the gift of knowledge to all users on the various tools that Neos provides. Currently, there are three completed rooms, and many more planned for the future.
We talked about the MTC and more during our Friday Twitch stream tonight at 3PM PST (6PM EST). Thanks for join us and hanging out! We always love having you with us!
Metaverse Training Center
After a long bout of hard work, the beginning of the Metaverse Training Center is now open for users to explore. Frooxius, Nexulan, Aegis and Coffee have all been working hard at putting this special world together with the ultimate goal of teaching new and old users how to use the features of Neos to their fullest extent.
The entirety of the MTC was all assembled inside Neos, from the placing of buildings, objects and videos, all the way down to the programming of functioning items such as the Avatar Builder all with LogiX. Frooxius has handled the majority of the programming, Nexulan handling the art direction and rounding up the team, Aegis with the modeling of the buildings, and Coffee created our instructional signs that guide our new users throughout the MTC! These guys are amazing, so show them some love at our Twitch stream tonight!
Avatar Creation Room
Users can learn all about avatars in this room! There are videos showing how to add basic modifications to your avatars as well as a video on uploading and setting up an avatar for use within Neos. If you’d like, you can even get and customize your own Neos Bot avatar in the main room.
This room will be very useful in helping new users get used to the avatar setup process here in Neos. There are also a ton of accessories to adorn your avatar with, so come and give this room a visit!
Streaming Room
Are you a streamer? Want to learn how to show Neos off with our camera tools? The streaming room has a bunch of tools at your disposal ranging from Twitch and Mixer video streamers, instructions on camera tools and the Twitch chat panel, and even special logix nodes for Twitch stream chat commands.
There’s an instructional video on utilizing the streamer camera done by our wonderful Nexulan, and shot by our amazing new team-member Theofilus. You can even pick up some of the same props we use in our own official Neos livestreams, such as the floating Neos logo which contains chat-driven particle effects, the popcorn maker, and the fan to keep you cool!
Art Room
This wonderful location holds fine pieces of art created by our users. You can find all sorts of inspiration, materials, and special tooltips for creating your masterpiece right here in Neos!
There’s even an easel so you can practice with the different materials and tips as you see fit. When you draw on it, your lines and convex hulls will actually stick to the easel automatically. Give it a shot!
If you want to dabble with Neotoshop, made by our very talented Neos Team member Coffee, you can find it near the easel. It’s a wonderful feat of Logix programming that allows you to save a copy of your artwork as a flat image! You can also find Neotoshop in your inventory's Neos Essential Tools section in the PolyLogiX folder.
Neos Textbook Released in Czechia
For the past half year, doc. Petr Klán has been working on a textbook “How to build worlds in the Neos Metaverse” for teachers and students, in collaboration with Frooxius. The book was finally released in Czech this week and work is underway on an English translation.
The textbook walks the reader through the basics of virtual reality, Neos and related game development concepts. It is based on doc. Petr Klán’s VR1 course at the Czech Technical University in Prague, in which students learn to build content in VR, import models, create particle systems, materials and finally script interactivity with LogiX.
This is a very exciting step for us, because it eases adoption of Neos in schools. Once the English version is translated, we’ll share the ebook version publicly as well.
Community Highlights
This week’s highlights are all about nostalgia! Come give these memorable locations a visit!
Reactant’s fan recreation of the Room of the Rain
The famous Room of the Rain from VRChat has received a fan-recreation within Neos! Reactant has been working hard at recreating the world, building the exterior from scratch both in blender and within Neos itself using the prim creating tools. Come give it a visit!
Wauf!’s FF7 Cosmo Canyon recreation
Complete with beautiful lighting, atmospheric sounds and a remastered track of the original location in Final Fantasy 7, Wauf has done a great job in making this world into a cozy atmosphere!
What’s Next?
With the focus on MTC, optimizations and lots of different bug reports, tweaks and requests, the new UI framework has unfrotunatelly taken a back seat in the meanwhile, but now it’s shifting back to be the main focus.
However we have also received some good news, HTC will be lending us the lip tracking module for next few days, so we can integrate it with Neos for their upcoming hackathon in London. Combined with the eye tracking, this should provide the next level of avatar immersion and support for a wide variety of hardware.
Thank you all for joining us again for our weekly update! We can’t wait to see and hear from you during our stream tonight, please come and ask questions and give comments. Nex will once again be our lovely host as usual! See you there!

Developer Briefings
Earlier this week we announced the launch of Developer Briefings. The first Briefing was dedicated to classes of units involved in battles in our game.
The content of this update is as follows: 1.Fixed the issue that the color of the weapon was not displayed correctly when the boss launched the skill. 2. Strength no longer increases health. 3.Increase the maximum health bonus when upgrading. 4. Beautify text prompt UI. 5.Move when hungry, the damage taken is changed to 10% of maximum health. 6.The damage prompt of the three attack buttons no longer shows the percentage but the actual value. 7.Adjust the speed of the attack button animation. 8.Fix non-1920x1080 resolution, which will cause displacement deviation when dragging items. 9.Modify some prompt text.
Greetings fellow time travelers, I'm working on achievements (and some other stuff) at the moment, but I won't be releasing the update allowing you to earn them until some time next week. I hadn't meant for the achievements to show up in steam until then, but must have configured something wrong, because they do show up; opps :)
Also in the works, hopefully to be released next week, are a free demo showing the first 8 levels, and various tweaks to levels to further tighten the early game.
The 2 biggest anoing bugs are now gone. The "Inventory no hit and quickbar block" bug and the "Item not craftet after putting a second item to the crafting queue" bug.
I want to give the players in Re.Poly the opportunity, to do everything they want. I heard your voice and the first step to make your own farm is done. Not much but the pretty basics and there will come much more animals, cooking recipes and many other stuff.
Plants will now snap to a Grid. That means if you place one on the ground, the next will snap to a given grid.
Fences are now placeable to save your animals.
The first step for magic powers is also done. Basic too but I think this is a good beginning. Thank you for your suggestions
- Added Haraya Plant - Added Haraya Blossom - Added crafting blueprint for Haraya Seed - Added Health Potion - Added Health Potion recipe to the Alchemy Table - Added Fences that you can place on the ground - Added Fence Gate that you can place on the ground - Added Cow in a Sphere (to spawn a cow) - Added Chicken in a Sphere (to spawn a chicken)
Changes:
Plants will now be placeable at a grid. The first plant is placeable everywhere on the ground, the next will snap to a grid
Fixes:
- Fixed the bug where you can't hit or use the hotbar after opening the Inventory - Fixed the bug where the first item in crafting queue was not crafted after you put another item into the queue - Fixed wood triangle wall placement - Fixed wood ramp placement
We hope you had a fantastic time during the holidays, escaping with the emperor in Zhanhu’s Event, and most recently, the return of Frost Wind Festival, which ends today!!

TESTING GROUNDS
Testing Grounds is a tool that was implemented last year in Season 11 where players can test early changes the FH development team would like to introduce and provide feedback on them.
Testing Ground Phase can be accessed from the world map.
The content of the Testing Grounds won’t necessarily reflect what ends up in the live game as a result. The goal is to gather player feedback first in order to determine what will go live, and what will need further development.
Testing Grounds aren’t subject to only fighter changes. This Phase, we will introduce changes to Breach.
You can still group with teammates to go into MM.
