Hello Pilots,
New HUGE update released. It was one of the most painful updates. Thank you all for the support, ideas and help with development. You are the best community we can imagine.
  • Also, thank you to the players who helped us with testing:

So, descriptions of the update below and a short video with visual updates below.

  • “AR mode”
The first version of augmented reality, the “super-vision” mode that can be used in flight: detailing the terrain, regardless of weather, day time, or other visual complications.

The operating mode of the radar allows piloting even in conditions of insufficient visibility.
It is activated by the V button on the keyboard, Left Bumper + X on the gamepad or the ship's menu in the radar tab.
It consumes energy and turns off when the radar is damaged.

  • “The new map”
It makes it easier to find supply and demand for goods or passengers of interest. Still, in development - it will be improved and supplemented.
Economic map of the world. In the first version of the new map, the entire system for displaying cities was redesigned: detailed descriptions, routes for buying or selling goods, displaying passengers, upgrades and the presence of ships at the bases added. Also, the features of the bases, such as the presence of a runway, hangar, etc. Plus, filters allow you to focus only on the selected type of action.

  • Graphical improvements

Planned in the next update: Adding new weather conditions. A few new winds, a tornado and etc.
Updated weather effects: smoke mists, geysers, volcanoes. Several bugs related to them have been fixed.

  • Improved landscape appearance
Planned in the next update: “The Raglor landscapes Decoration. A full-scale improvement of objects and the surface of the continent is planned, the addition of interesting places and just a greater variety of visual range, especially in desert areas.”

  • Flight physics
Updated flight physics in airplane mode, and chassis control.
The physics of the aircraft has been improved towards realistic calculations of the atmosphere influence on the ship.

Barotrauma - 1dynamoon
Hi everyone!

The submarine building competition to design a new stock submarine for Barotrauma has concluded, and the winner is…

R-29 by rav2n. Congratulations!

We got several beautiful boats, so it was hard to pick the winner – you can see all the submarines that entered the competition with more detailed descriptions in this blog post.

Thanks to Summa Barologicae for hosting the competition and to everyone who participated! We were very impressed by the overall quality of the submissions, and we think R-29 is a great starting point for Barotrauma’s first cargo hauler vessel. The new submarine based on this contest’s winner will be added to the game during the early months of next year.

With the competition concluded, a hotfix released earlier this week and the Winter Sale going on since yesterday, we wish you all happy holidays! See you in January,

Barotrauma Team

Ancient Warfare 3 - JNI-Games
Updated unit models
The models of units, horses, elephants and wolves got changed a bit to better match the style of the other models. There are no more sharp edges on the unit models and limbs are connected. In addition to that, all armor and clothing items got updated to match the new unit model and are skinned over the limbs.

Editor improvements
The custom battle editor is probably the place where players spend most of their time in the game. This update contains some improvements for it:
  • The editor shows the available key inputs while placing units or interacting with selected units
  • Updated the effect of selected units/objects/... to make the effect less bright and irritating.
  • Players can now copy/paste (duplicate) selected units/objects/... and place them to another location
  • Rotating selected objects will now also rotate units/objects/... placed on top of them
  • Selected units will now show their attack range and guard range
  • Reduced memory usage. This can help to prevent editor crashes on low end machines.

UI improvements
  • Most of the UI elements have slightly rounded corners now
  • The values of the terrain manipulation panel can now be entered in a text field to allow accurate adjustments

Other improvements
  • Lasers are less visible now
  • Adjusted the horse rider height
  • Added santa clothing to the unit creator

Christmas content
There is no new christmas content available this year and no event. The reason for that is that there is already christmas content in game from the 2017 and 2018 and a lot of time has been spend in improving the game instead of creating temporary content and events.
Just in case you missed it, this is a list of all christmas stuff in game:
  • Christmas biome
  • Santa unit & Shotgun santa unit
  • Snowman guard unit
  • Snowball thrower unit
  • Santa clothing
  • Christmas rod weapons
  • Candy stick weapon
  • Present grenade

Bug fixes
I dont want to bore you with the list, but some bugs got fixed. Some AI bugs are still in game, because the AI is currently being developed in a separate version of the game.

Work in progress + plan for next year
There are currently two big things being worked on:
1) All gun models are being reworked with improved/new models, iron sights, improved viewmodels and adjusted sizes
2) A lot of AI bugs are getting fixed and new features are being added

Fixing and improving the AI is a long term process which requires a lot of testing because there are so many possibilities and edge cases in this game that it's hard to make the AI work in all of them. But we will get there eventually next year.

There will be no more major updates in 2019, and the next update is scheduled for early January 2020 with the new gun models and improvements.
In general, there will be longer periods between the updates in 2020 to improve the stability of the game and get it into a more polished state. There will also be less new content, because the focus is on improving and polishing existing stuff.

Other than that I can just thank all the players of this game and all the people who suggest things and report bugs.
Merry christmas and a happy new year. See you guys in 2020!

Unbound: Worlds Apart - Say Hello To Tragedy
Hello guys!

It's almost the end of the year and the holidays are upon us. For the last two months, we have been working hard on Unbound. We're finally ready to show you the progress we've made during this time.

We spent some time redesigning Soli. We feel that this version looks better and is more expressive. We're currently in the process of updating the animations and hope we'll have the new model soon in the game.

Soli has a new movement

Along with the new outfit, Soli got some new moves as well! We decided to tweak the character movement in order to make it more responsive and make platforming easier and controllable. Here is a video comparing the old and the new movement.

First Boss Concept Art
Throughout the game, you will face some ferocious monsters and you have to find clever ways in order to defeat them by using the portals. We want to show you our first boss concept art called "Sandwyrm".

The next update will be in 2020. Until then, come join us on Twitter and Discord.

Joyful holidays,

Alien Pixel Studios Team
Pendula Swing Episode 1 - Tired and Retired - Valiant
Greetings, adventurers!

We just pushed a new patch, and this time we really went overboard with naming: it's patch 2.8.6. Besides the usual fixes, we also added a tiny surprise for those of you super into Dwarven Ale trafficking. We figured it's necessary given the rapidly approaching holidays, y'know?

  • Police officers are now wearing badges. If they can't show a badge, they're not a cop!
  • Silent characters, such as statues and the petrified dwarf, now don't have a sound effect.
  • The audio for the whole game has been improved, with some new ambiances and similar.
  • You can now give the street buskers in Old Town some money.
  • There are now more instances where you can say something to someone only when under the influence of alcohol. Handle with care.
  • All achievements should now be possible to unlock properly.
  • The names of NPCs should now save and load properly, when you know them.
  • Animations and connected issues have been addressed.
  • There have been some problems with the collision with some items in the world. Should be better now!
  • The audio levels should now be saved properly if set in the main menu before starting a new game.
  • The map in the UI and the store page has been updated to match the new look of the map, and all unlockable episodes.
  • We have also fixed a great deal of typos, and other smaller dialogue issues.

We wish you a very very Merry set of Holidays!

:: Patch note 0.14.3 – Dec. 20, 2019 ::
New features
  • New Pistol: Always trigger Perfect Shots if charged enough.
  • Small cinematics when killing a Champion or a Boss.
  • New UI for Curses.
Balancing
  • All Cursed Weapons have been rescaled to be less game-breaking.
  • Some Effects and Affixes powers have been adjusted.
  • Each point of Perception now gives +5% Gold instead of 4%.
Design note: We need more Gold!
  • Final Curse damage over time is now scaled on Maximum Health (-4 HP/sec/1000 HP)
Design note: Final Curse should be a threat for any build, including those based on heavy Constitution. As all healing is now Constitution scaled, Final Curse should only be counter-able by pure healing instead of just having a big pool of HP.
  • Breaking regular enemy attacks is now possible with pistols when using the Cross Hands attack instead of Perfect Shots. Perfect Shots still deal Critical Damage.
Design Note: Easily Breaking enemies patterns' from too far has a tendency to stall the dynamic of combats. Additionally, Perfect Shots were a too fast way to break enemy attacks, while other weapons need anticipation to achieve it. Bows are left unchanged for now.
  • Changed text of Sentient Shield to “25% chances to automatically trigger a Parry”.
Design Note: Sentient Shield is designed around having the potential to save players in a flashy way. Previous text could be too much exploited due to its reliability.
Fixed bugs
  • Opening map now puts the game in “Pause”.
  • Tutorial texts don’t appear during cinematics anymore.
  • Fix for the Relic replacement choice when paying with Blood.
  • “Caps Lock” is now possible for binding on the Keyboard.
  • Binding one key to multiple actions is not possible anymore.
  • Fix for the “Set Default” button that triggered without clicking.

Generation Zero® - Avalanche_Graham
Happy Holidays everyone!

It’s been quite the journey from when we started back in March with the launch of Generation Zero. Since then, we’ve done a lot with the game - from bug fixes, to new features, to an expansion - all to create a great experience that we all can enjoy.

Admittedly we started off a bit rocky at launch, but due in large part to your feedback we continually made efforts to mend those errors. We’ve taken a steady, methodical approach with our updates, as we wanted to make sure we got things right first time, rather than rush out rough solutions. This has been our continued approach to challenges, and something we will keep aiming for with every release. That said, we aren’t perfect, but we’re not taking unnecessary risks either when it comes to fixing annoying bugs. And based on the feedback that has been coming in of late, we are pleased to see that our efforts have been paying off - specifically in the example of the main mission blockers we had early on.

When it comes to the new things we’ve added, we’ve tried to strike a balance between what you’re looking for and what we think the game needs in order to succeed. Ideally we find areas where those two things overlap so that the game can really shine! One example of that was the Rival system. You were looking for more things to do and more interesting rewards, whereas we wanted a system we could build on that would engage you in new and interesting ways.

With Alpine Unrest, we started to push more into areas where these things overlap. Based on feedback from a variety of places (forums, reviews, surveys, etc.) we were able to look closely at what was working and what wasn’t. Many of the ways in which we tried things in the expansion were directly called out as potential areas of improvement previously. Things like NPCs, Mission variety, and the fullness of the world, were all things we tackled in order to provide a better experience. All of these aspects we will evaluate and learn from so that we can continue to improve the game across the board.

We hope you’ve enjoyed all the updates we’ve made to Generation Zero so far - and you can expect more from us in the coming year! Nothing to share just yet, but we have plenty of ideas for things we want to put in the game in 2020 and onwards.

Lastly, as we head into the holiday period, the team will start rolling out of the office soon which means no more updates from us before the end of the year. However - please enjoy our Holiday Celebration Event that starts today. Get out there, hunt some Rivals, and grab those sweet new threads!

If you want your friends to join and provide backup, now’s also a perfect opportunity as we have sales running on all platforms.

Thank you all so much for joining us in the world of Östertörn, enjoy the holidays, and we’ll see you in 2020!
