We're getting another adventure with Bigby Wolf and Snow White after all - yes, Telltale's The Wolf Among Us is back for a second run of episodes.

That is, of course, despite Telltale being shut down and its initial plan for a second season seemingly gone for good.

Since then, some of the original team has since reformed to found AdHoc Studio. Sure enough, this outfit is working on the new season alongside LCG Entertainment - the new owner of the Telltale brand.

New World: Aeternum

Amazon's big foray into gaming begins May 2020 with the release of online PC game New World (which you might remember from a leak last year). It's a massively-multiplayer game inspired by the Age of Exploration, hence the name, taking place on a magical island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The most exciting features are a kind of guild warfare system based around settlements and forts, where players can fight 50 versus 50 battles; an active combat system where you have to aim to land attacks; and a classless progression system where weapons have skill trees.

I spoke to game director Scot Lane about New World before The Game Awards reveal.

It's developed by Chinese studio 24 Entertainment. Here's the official blurb:

Integrating Eastern aesthetic and philosophy, Naraka: Bladepoint presents a forsaken island of splendid landscapes as well as inexplicable enigmas."

Co-op Dungeons & Dragons hack-and-slash series Dark Alliance is making a comeback.

A brand new game, dubbed simply Dark Alliance, will be released next autumn for PC and consoles, developed by Tuque Games and Wizards of the Coast.

A quick word on Tuque: it's a relatively unknown studio in Montreal created by ex-Ubisoft veterans. Livelock, the studio's first game, looks like a pretty good co-op action RPG, which bodes well. Wizards acquired Tuque a couple of months ago and there are around 55 people working there.

Warframe

It's here at last: announced during the Game Awards, Warframe's spaceship co-op expansion is now live for PC players - all for free, though you might need to do some of the grunt work if you want to catch a ride on someone else's Railjack.

First announced as Project Railjack during TennoCon 2018, the Empyrean expansion has been a long time coming, but looks to be worth the wait. After building a drydock and their own Railjack (the big ships), players can engage in massive space battles to take out objectives such Grineer vessels, or asteroids with big guns on them. Players can board enemy ships using Archwing cannons, level up individual roles onboard the ship (tactical, piloting, gunnery and engineering) and upgrade their Railjacks with special abilities or fancy paint options. There's a lot going on, so if you want the full tour, check out the latest devstream below.

While Empyrean is centred around four-player co-op, in a media Q&A session, live operations and community manager Rebecca Ford told Eurogamer that solo players can expect further tweaks to the expansion post-launch.

HUMANKIND™

Amplitude Studios, the developer behind the likes of Endless Space and Endless Legend, has unveiled the first gameplay trailer for its upcoming historical strategy game Humankind.

Humankind, which builds its turn-based strategy around the classic 4X template, sees players attempting to guide their civilisation from the Neolithic era to the modern age, with over 60 different historical cultures - including the likes of the Ancient Egyptians, the Romans, the Khmers, and the Vikings - represented, all with unique abilities.

The twist, however, is that it's possible to combine cultures encountered during play in order to build your own unique civilisation as time ticks on. There are also real historical events to experience, scientific discoveries to make, and plenty of tactical skirmishes both on land and sea - with combat getting an airing in the new trailer below.

Sayonara Wild Hearts

Developer Simogo's sublime music game Sayonara Wild Hearts has - after a couple of months on Switch, PlayStation 4, and iOS - finally launched on PC.

Sayonara Wild Hearts, which Simogo describes as a "euphoric music video dream", tells the story of a young woman spirited away to a mysterious world of neon lights and catchy pop, where she meets her alter-ego The Fool.

What follows is a gorgeous treat of an experience, and a game about - as Sayonara Wild Hearts' Steam page puts it - "being awesome, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, dance battling, shooting lasers, wielding swords, and breaking hearts at 200 mph".

Sea of Thieves hasn't, it's fair to say, been the most welcoming of experiences for fledgling pirates, what with the online-only game's proliferation of bloodthirsty player ships, marauding AI monstrosities, and an almost complete lack of initial instruction. It's taken nearly two years, but finally, as part of its new Christmas-themed update, Rare has given its nautical multiplayer sandbox a proper tutorial - and, quite unexpectedly, it's an absolute delight.

In fact, I'd say it's the highlight of Sea of Thieves' latest update, known as the Festival of Giving, which focusses the remainder of its seasonal activities around a series of (somewhat uninspired) voyages to find presents and cart them to a tree in the middle of the map. There's a bit of a neat twist in that players can forfeit their presents in the spirit of giving for additional rewards, but it's certainly nowhere near as exciting as November's fire/new Tall Tale double whammy.

Luckily, Sea of Thieves' new tutorial makes up for it, essentially taking the form of another brand-new Tall Tale, which means that it features all the bells and whistles of the game's other story-based episodes. There's a fully animated and voiced NPC, dynamic music (and one track in particular, a Monkey-Island-esque refrain of the main theme, is a delight), alongside various optional diversions, challenges, secrets, and unlockables.

STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™

The photo mode camera in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has the power to destroy explosives.

This weird discovery came from the Fallen Order reddit, where you can see the photo mode camera being used to make contact with a rocket from a Stormtrooper, causing it to explode.

This is quite obviously a bug, unless the photo mode camera in Fallen Order really does have supreme power.
