The Strv 103, also known as the ‘S-Tank’, is a highly unusual Swedish main battle tank, unique for its turretless design and innovative use of adjustable suspension. Also coming to War Thunder as part of the upcoming update 1.95 "Northern wind", the famous S-Tank will become among the first playable Swedish ground vehicles in the game!

In War Thunder, the legendary Strv 103 will come to the game as part of update 1.95 "Northern wind", being also one of the first Swedish ground vehicles to make it into the game! While pilots will get their hands on a few dozen new toys waiting for them in the new Swedish aviation tree, tank commanders who choose to obtain the Strv 103-0 - the pre-production model of the Strv 103 - as part of a bundle in our online store, will have the chance to have a first taste of what the Swedish ground tech has to offer, arriving later as part of a future update.





The Strv 103-0 can be obtained through the purchase of a special bundle in our online store and will become available to all its future owners with the release of update 1.95. Hello, everyone!

In the course of Part 2 development, we introduced the 1.12 version of <Monads> including minor improvements and code maintenance. And this contains the repayment for our patrons who participated on 2nd crowdfunding.

The major changes are as follows.


Bug Fix
Solved the following problems.
  • Skill 'Nonmaterial' of fire spirit in chapter 16 was not applied correctly.
  • Dark area which means cooltime disturbed the number for shortcut or AP cost.
  • Sometimes unit couldn't point close tiles on very low position.
  • Finished spawning spots displayed 99 count.

  • Icons not displayed correctly when a single spawning spots have several conditions.
  • Tooltip of 'Twisted Blade' skill (Jason) was not correct.
  • VFX of 'Fatal Arrow' skill (Eren) was too long, and didn't emerged on the correct position.

Gameplay & Convenience
  • Changed scoring conditions of battle in chapter 14 & 16.
  • Now healing skills also display modifier icons before actual casting.
  • Release notes are provided in the game menu.
  • Esc key doesn't cancel actions. Now it always open the menu panel.

Etc
  • When casting leap skill to a unit on much higher position, the caster jumps higher than usual.
  • Added names of patrons who participated in 2nd crowdfunding in the credit,

One Hour One Life - jasonrohrer


New this week, for a belated Thanksgiving: a feasting table, where you can serve yourself a whole plate of food. This takes advantage of the recently-added food overflow system, and is the first food source that offers +40 in one gulp, giving you a huge buffer of time before your next meal.

I spent the rest of the week making a dent in the very long list of issues that have piled up.

You now have a separate directional arrow, at the top of the screen, when you hear a distant bell tower ring. No more needing to dig up your home marker to follow the bell. A bug in lingering home markers from the last life has also been fixed. Some glitchiness in biome sickness have been fixed, along with an exploit that allowed you to plant biome-specific things outside of their target biome.

Eves were being spread out too far, because tutorial players and donkeytown players were advancing the next Eve position by accident, so that's been fixed. This should bring everyone a bit closer together. I Fixed a few confusing cases of tool learning (like when you're too hungry to use the axe, but learn it anyway).

There was a huge inaccuracy in the way that average lifespans were being computed as part of fitness score calculations. That has been fixed, which should dramatically reduce fitness score inflation, and all fitness scores have been reset back to 0.

There are still loads of issues left to fix, and I'll be focusing on those next week. Thanks to all of the people who spent so much time reporting them. Keep them coming. If I don't know about them, I can't fix them.

The SteamVR beta has been updated with the following changes.

SteamVR Settings Beta
  • Most settings have been ported to a new user interface
  • Most settings now available on both the desktop, and in-headset.
The new SteamVR settings are still a work in progress.

  • Improved audio mirroring latency and fixed some cases where the mirror could accumulate a large delay.
  • Skip “Advanced Supersampling Filtering” for systems which use their own compositor (e.g. WMR, Oculus). This should fix blurriness reported by WMR users.
  • Fixed some memory leaks when VR_Init is called repeatedly in long-running applications.
  • All windows now group together under one icon in the Windows taskbar.

SteamVR Dashboard
  • Added haptic bumps with moving on or off of buttons on the dashboard controls.
  • Added support for haptic bumps when moving around on the keyboard.
  • Minor appearance tweaks.
  • Fixed a variety of crashes in vrdashboard.exe

  • Improved multi-monitor desktop support (Windows 10 only)
  • Improved cursor rendering (Windows 10 only)

SteamVR Input
  • For games using legacy input: When fetching default bindings, prefer partner site explicit defaults instead of generic legacy defaults
  • When switching bindings, SteamVR now records the previously selected binding in a setting.
  • Action Sets with a higher priority will now correctly override sets with a lower priority.
  • Recent games list in top level controller configuration menu now shows most recent game instead of starting with second most recent game.

Index HMD
  • Max brightness extended to 140
  • Framerate can be changed without restarting (requires NVIDIA driver version 441, or higher)

We’ve released the 1.0.2 patch to our stable branch on Steam. We'll be posting our first alpha devlog shortly with more information on all the new changes since alpha release.

There could still be network and sync issues from the recent changes in our network backbone. If you experience anything weird, please report it. Thanks for playing, submitting bug reports, providing feedback & supporting the game in alpha.

Patch v1.0.2 (HotFix)
  • (Regression in 1.0.1) Fixed issue that was causing some network messages to not send correctly. This could result in missing players, broken vehicles and other strange behavior.
  • (Regression in 1.0.1) Fixed issue that was causing player inventories to break.
  • Stopped certain inputs happening while in the user bug report window.
  • Added hotkey (F1) for opening user report without entering the menu. 
  • Player storage containers now have description that explains a little about how locks work.
  • Container descriptions no longer contain misinformation about storage capacity.
  • Double barrel shotgun sounds are now effected by audio sliders in the menu.

Howdy Folks!



It is finally time. That’s right, we finally completed something some of you folks have been asking for for absolute ages. That’s right, a Muzzle-Loading Flintlock, in all of its messy glory.

This has been an absolute treat to implement, as it’s been far too long since I’ve had the time to just focus on a single simulation challenge, and just following it where it took me, landing at each interaction and fork-point in the state space and asking what sorts of interesting results could be added, and what other objects it could interface with.

Some of you might be asking ‘what about a rifle?’ Well I am restricting this type to a single firearm to begin with, so it’s easier to work out all of the (inevitable) bugs with this large of a state-space. Once I’m confident that it’s rock solid, I will add a few more to the category (including a few absolutely wacky ones I’ve had my eye on for a while). I’d also love to get some related muzzle-loaders in, such as a Wheel-lock. Thankfully, the systems for this Flintlock have been written extensibly enough to support such things.

Also I’d like to put a HUGE shout-out thank you to Patrick Sutton and Joe Kataldo for doing the meticulous foley work for this. The Flintlock also has the most unique sounds for any firearm in the game (by far), and I had to keep adding more and more for it as new sub-states arose in the design. The nuance present in it truly was a team effort.

Anywho, I hope y’all enjoy the result of our efforts. Try not to blow too many of them up!

Colonists Needed

Nova Taris needs Colonists! Commanders will be able to pick up colonists in select Core space stations and deliver them to Nova Taris station in 43 Beta Comae Berenices. These colonists only trust commanders with ***a lot*** of reputation (GRP) to help give them passage to 43 Beta Comae Berenices. The amount of GRP required to get colonists may vary throughout the event. Nova Taris is in need of colonists and will be paying a premium of GRP for them. To encourage Commanders to help on this quest GFI will be rewarding the Top 15 Commanders with a Transportation Supply Crate. The top three will receive an additional 5, 3, or 2 Crates respective to their ranking.

This Event starts now and will end on 12/10 - Top 10 Rewards will be announced and distributed by 12/13
