Four classes are available from the getgo in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. They all cater to different styles of play, such as snipers, close-quarter combat, or those that like to be sneaky. With Ghost Recon Breakpoint, weapons and armour now have levels, rarities, and other RPG-like things, bringing it more in line with The Division. But that’s not the only thing you need to keep an eye on as there are plenty of upgrades for the guns in the game, as there are attachments and even upgraded versions of the main weapons in the game. Rebellion today announced they’ve bought the brand and portfolio of The Bitmap Brothers, a name that may impress or mystify you depending on how old you are and how successful the Commodore Amiga was round your way. Lot of goosebumps running up the arms of people who grew up in England during the 80s. Rebellion say they’re planning to rerelease vintage Bitmap Brothers games as well as make new games in the old series. I never had an Amiga myself but a pal did so here’s me going “Oh yeah, Speedball was good! Right? I think? I liked its sportfights?” Ugh, my tight five of ‘D’ya remember?’ gags is dangerously loose.

Dell’s Black Friday deals started earlier today, but Amazon have already gazumped them on Alienware’s ultrawide AW3418DW monitor. This curved 34in, 3440×1440, 120Hz IPS Nvidia G-Sync panel is down to 850 over on Dell’s website right now, offering a saving of just over 320 off its normal 1170 price. Amazon, however, have got it for 849, the cheeky so-and-sos.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint has been out for a little while now and is the latest in Ubisoft’s open-world military shooters. This time around you’ll be facing off against an enemy with technology more advanced than your own, complete with big hulking metal automated tanks and radar scrambling technology to disorientate you. Ever since Nvidia introduced their G-Sync Compatible driver so that cheap AMD FreeSync screens could play nice with Nvidia graphics cards, full-fat G-Sync monitors have had to work a heck of a lot harder to earn their keep. After all, why pay almost double the money to get smooth, tear-free gaming on a proper G-Sync monitor when you can get pretty much the same experience on something like our best gaming monitor champ the AOC C24G1 for less than two hundred quid? Alas, Acer’s Predator XN253Q fails to provide a compelling answer to this particular question. It’s not a bad gaming monitor, per se, but it’s not a great one either. Here’s wot I think.
