From the very start of the game, The Outer Worlds gives you a variety of systems to play around with to customise and develop your character. Prime among them is the Perks system, which gives you the chance on every second level-up to give your character a new Perk to help give them (and you) a slightly easier or more enjoyable journey through the game.

BattleTech‘s expansions have been a little light on new murderbots. Flashpoint brought in new multi-stage missions and Urban Warfare took the fighting to city streets, but this week’s Heavy Metal DLC is all about those mechs. BattleTech’s third (and final, for now) DLC drops with seven classics alongside the bespoke new Bullshark, accompanied by enough new lasers, missiles and mortars to turn even the biggest steel titan into a smoking scrapheap.

The new season in Teamfight Tactics is in full swing and another TFT patch just dropped. That means new TFT comps can rise up and dominate your opponents. If you’ve not played TFT in a while, there’s a whole bunch of brand new champions and items. Putting them all together in one coherent TFT comp might be a little trickier as you’ve now got to contend with elements, as well as the fact that everything is new again. With the latest patch, there has already been a big Light surge in the meta, so we’ll be bringing you the tips you need to make the best TFT comps for patch 9.23.

I’m not sure if it was a consequence of the redesign or simply a result of restlessness on my part, but last weekend I found myself doing something I rarely do – scrolling through the list of games Steam ‘thought’ I might enjoy. Three of the Learning Machine’s suggestions did indeed float my LCT, in fact they floated it to such an extent that I’ve decided to make the trio the subject of today’s column. None of the titles described below are traditional wargames or sims – none are exactly daisy fresh – but if you like your interactive entertainment historical, military, tactical and/or novel, I’d be surprised if you managed to gambol through all 24 paragraphs without feeling a single twinge of temptation.
