TL;DR version: The game’s gotten immense event and press coverage in the past few months (including from The New York Times!), development itself is going smoothly bar for a brief break to focus on bizdev housekeeping, the entire story is finally getting eyes on it, battle system is being played around with a bit, yada yada, just read the full thing. :p

A major update just went live. The main feature is a new game mode titled Loot With Your Friends.
Explore randomly (procedurally) generated dungeons, increasing in difficulty and danger the deeper you go, and collect all kinds of treasure to get the highest score. Fire projectiles from your pogo stick to kill enemies and propel yourself forward.
There's two new unlockables, a Jetpack boost effect and an animated Artefact pogo stick. Reach 5000 or 10000 points respectively to unlock them. If you struggle doing so you can hit up your friends and play the mode in 2-4 player co-op. Tip: Use the camera keys to check your surroundings (and check the controls menu, there's 2 new buttons!).
For the main mode (now referred to as Adventure) you will now have access to different themes, day, night and night+rain. Alternatively, you can leave the theme on auto shuffle and the weather will change dynamically and be synchronized for all players. (No effect on gameplay.)
The update features various other improvements and bug fixes, including an automatic backup system for your experience points and unlockables, an invisible map mode (for the daring players), revamped menus and a new underlying more robust and more flexible system for accepting invites and joining games.
Additionally, the game now supports 4 new language options: Thai, Turkish, Traditional Chinese and Czech.

Using the amazing community-made mods and assets to create a downtown can make it look really unique and special! Create mixed zoning with commercial and office, full of shops, gardens, and parks. Detail the buildings you've placed with props and other fun details!

In order to avoid key conflicts, the key used to toggle the visibility of the unlocked contents in unlock UI is changed from the "switch weapon key" (the keyboard defaults to C, the controller defaults to the D-Pad down button) to "teleport key" (the keyboard defaults to 3, the controller defaults to LT). Adjust some text.
