Wattam - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Sin Vega)

Bright and bouncy befriend ’em up Wattam is expected to hit the Epic Games Store in December, according to a tweet by its publisher, Annapurna Interactive. There’s no word on whether Epic plan to hit it back.

I won’t lie. I’ve been paying this no attention whatsoever, but even just a few moments of the below trailer was enough to convince me I should. It came out during the PlayStation State of Play livestream last night, but we won’t hold that against it.

DayZ - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Craig Pearson)

It has been over five years since DayZ was released. In all that time, Chernarus has been the only home the survivors have known. (Officially at least, there are already unofficial map mods like Deer Isle). The lumpy land of Chernarus is a place the players know well, perhaps a little too well for a survival game that works best when it s unpredictable. To keep things chaotic, Bohemia have just announced new DLC for the game. The upcoming Livonia is 163km , with plenty of forests to frolic in. And bears.

Morning Apeleggers. Can you sense that? Something in the air? It’s got a bite to it. As colder seasons approach our feeble human bodies, a puddle of evidence suggests the chill is also about to hit Apex Legends. Some say it heralds an entirely new map, on the far flung reaches of a new planet called Psamathe. More cautious folk, myself included, just reckon it’s going to snow a bit.

Nothing about maps has been announced for the third season, due to start October 1st, but we didn’t get any concrete news of Season 2’s map changes until dragons and hackers had already ripped the place apart. Come on, let’s go scrutinise some game files.

With so many collectibles in the worlds of Borderlands 3, it can get a little daunting to try and find all of them. Some of the most elusive are the Typhon Logs and Drop Pods, Eridian Writings, and the Echo Logs that are littered throughout the game in most of the regions. We began the arduous task of finding them all and popping their locations on maps, so you can just look at a map and find what you need.

It’s not long until Ghost Recon Breakpoint is out, but there’s one more chance to play before its release date. This Ghost Recon Breakpoint open beta will give those who play it a chance to explore the archipelago of Auroa, a region where former comrades in arms and their drones generally make a nuisance for the local populace. It’s time to see just how lethal these chaps are, with their flying machines of death.

Ecosystem - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Nate Crowley)

I had a bunch of other things to write about today, but I ve shoved it all aside because my PC just reinvented the concept of fish>, and you need to know about it.

This isn t just an ooh, this looks interesting post; I ve got proper weird street evangelist excitement about what I ve just been playing, and I simply have to share it. It s not a candidate for game of the year, because it s barely a game, but if you re remotely interested in evolutionary science, ecology or just sea stuff in general, you re going to want to play some Ecosystem.

Black Mirror - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Katharine Castle)

No, not that Black Mirror, the stupidly successful TV show created by former UK games journalist Charlie Brooker. The gothic horror adventure game Black Mirror. Well, gothic horror is perhaps a bit strong for this slightly ropey point-and-click style puzzler. Sure, it’s set in a spooky mansion in the middle of the Scottish highlands, but its dead-eyed cast of stiff geriatrics are more comical than they are scary. Especially when main bloke David keeps doing dramatic little asides to himself lamenting how no one, not even the nice doctor lady who seems really quite open to all this psychological terror stuff, could ever understand his mad visions of the past.
