I spent a non-zero amount of time over the weekend imagining a dark future where the incredible popularity of Twitter account Can You Pet The Dog? led scores of indie developers to include ill-fitting snozzle-scratching mechanics in their games. Should this dark time of Very Good Boys come to pass, a game you couldn t accuse of jumping on the dog wagon is Finji s Overland, since it s been letting players stuff actual wagons with dogs for a couple of years now.
Overland is a turn-based tactical game, in which each dog (or person) under your control has two actions to do stuff on a grid, after which things that want you dead get a turn to do stuff on a grid. It s also a survival game, in that you need at least one of your dogs (or people) to survive in order to keep playing. It s a roguelite, in that it offers harsh penalties for failure, and it s also a puzzle game thanks to the discrete problems it presents for you to overcome. It’s whimsical, but very tough.

Normally when a big patch drops for Teamfight Tactics, it’s a bit of a pain to sort through and work out exactly what has changed and how it affects the game, with a massive list of changes to champions and items.
The TFT 9.18 patch notes dropped a while ago and the changes weren’t all that sweeping as we’d expected they might be, what with the new items on the horizon. Still, below are all the changes.

Teamfight Tactics made some big changes in patch 9.18. Most notably, the drop rates and TFT traits have been tinkered a little bit to be a little more competitive overall. As Hextech is still new, we’ve put an overview of what they’re all about, as well as the updated versions to the rest of the traits.

We saw some changes to some champions in Teamfight Tactics in the 9.18 patch. Several champions have seen some drastic changes, most notably the Nobles being given a much-needed nerf, and perhaps the rise of the Shapeshifters? The recently introduced Pantheon has also shaken up the meta a fair bit, to the point where he had to be nerfed. We’ve got the lowdown on all the updates to the TFT tier list in patch 9.18.
If after the E3 reveal of John Wick Hex you were updating your gaming calendar and were angered at the lack of a release date, I have calming news for you. The turn-based prequel to Keanu’s trilogy of violence will be out on October 8th, which I now realise is disturbingly close. You might say it’s only about two wicks away. Anyway, here’s Lovejoy and Lance Demon to tell you all about it.

Epic Games Store exclusives are everyone’s favourite subject that nobody dreads writing about at all. Fortunately, some specific numbers have recently emerged to hopefully replace the speculation.
Remedy Entertainment’s Control was subject to an exclusivity deal, as we reported back in March. Epic apparently valued Control at a chunky $10.45 million (roughly 8.43 million, or almost twenty train tickets), according to recent financial report released by Digital Bros, the parent company of Control’s publisher, 505 Games.

The items update that was supposed to be coming to Teamfight Tactics didn’t really happen in the 9.18 patch. That isn’t to say that none of the TFT items got changed in the patch, just that they weren’t as wide-sweeping as we had anticipated, though the BF Sword damage reduction is as big as it gets. We’ve updated our TFT cheat sheets to match the items as they appear in the game.

Deep Space Nine actor Aron Eisenberg passed away this weekend. He played Nog, the put upon nephew of Quark the bartender and the first Ferengi to join Star Fleet. In Star Trek Online, he’s made captain.
Nog’s a wholesome character in a deeply wholesome show, which is partly why I found the in-game vigil players held for Eisenberg so touching.

Roblox has a lot of ways to show off creativity, but there are occasions where promotional items can be redeemed in-game for players to use. It’s not immediately obvious how to redeem them, or indeed how to equip them once they’ve been redeemed.
Don’t worry, we’ll get you up to speed with how to deck out your avatar with all the items obtained from Roblox codes, as well as providing a list of all the currently active codes. This updated guide includes all redeemable items and now includes all three Roblox Creator Challenge games you can play to win several Roblox promo items.
