The Type 75 is a Japanese self-propelled howitzer, developed in the early 1970s for the JGSDF. Still serving as one of Japan’s primary mobile artillery units to this day, the Type 75 SPH will soon become available to all Japanese tankers, coming soon to War Thunder as part of the upcoming update 1.91 "Night Vision"!

In War Thunder, the Type 75 will be a new SPG, coming to the game as part of the next major update and will become available to all tankers at rank V of the Japanese ground forces tree. Combining the destructive power of a massive 155mm howitzer with a high rate of fire and a very nimble chassis, the Type 75 is bound to quickly find many fans among tankers who enjoy simply blasting away bits and pieces of tanks with big guns!





The biggest and most noticeable feature of the Type 75 is of course its 155mm NSJ L/30 howitzer. Although generally performing similar to other canons of this caliber in the game, tankers will have access to several key features on the Type 75, which distinguish it from other vehicles of this class in War Thunder. Namely, the Type 75 is fitted with a fully rotatable turret, giving it far more flexibility and tactical opportunities in engagements than other SPGs in the game. Furthermore, the Type 75 is also equipped with a drum-fed autoloading mechanism for its main gun. As a result, the vehicle has a flat 10 second reload time before the next round is ready to reduce another tank to ashes. Thanks to this handy feature, the Type 75 is also the first SPG in the game to offer such a fast reload for this gun caliber.

Greetings!

Today we are going to learn about the world of [Hunter’s Arena: Legends]. We had a Q & A session with Barim, the main scriptwriter of the game.


Q1. Please introduce yourself.
Hello, I’m Barim, who is in charge of writing the main script of [Hunter’s Arena: Legends]. Everything related to the world’s background story and concept design is under my responsibility.


Q2. Many people are curious about the story of Hunter’s Arena. We know that it is based on the famous Chinese novel “The Creation of The Gods (or Fengshen Yanyi / 封神演义 in Chinese)”. Can you give us some more details?
Hunter’s Arena takes place after the events told in the novel, where all demons are sealed off. Achieving peace wasn’t an easy task. However, someone broke the Demons Tombstone and put the human kingdom in great danger, once again. Thus, the hunters will choose whether to join forces based on their personal goals & beliefs.

We have reimagined the different elements of the original “The Creation of The Gods” so that you may see the world of Hunter’s Arena as a whole new world. Of course, not knowing anything about the novel is totally fine. We use many storytelling mechanisms. So once you play the game, you will naturally have a better understanding about the world, the hunters, their goals and beliefs. The game features both original characters from the novel as well as a whole new set of characters. There is a lot to look forward to. Also, don’t miss the prologue video coming soon!



Q3. What is a storytelling mechanism?
It’s a type of content. Storytelling through NPCs or Quests was challenging due to the genre’s characteristics. So we tried to use all kinds of methods to make the players naturally immersed in the story. Some people may be like “they went that far?”, but I would consider it is a good reaction. It means that even in the midst of an intense fight, you can still appreciate the mise-en-scène and discover its meaning.


Q4. What do you think is the most important thing in this process of scriptwriting?
Asian concept and the cause-and-effect relations between events mean a lot in the game. Hunter’s Arena follows the time and place of the previously mentioned famous Asian novel. Thus the overall ‘Look & Feel’ is in line with that Asian style. Our goal is to preserve the original Asian charm while trying to recreate things in a more Korean manner.

In particular, when a character's story is connected to some elements in the game, it is important to think about the relationship this character has with others, and how they are affected by it. A while ago, I expected the whole process would be simple. However, as time went by, I found myself tracing back to the characters’ birth to check all the cause-and-effect relations. With those character relations in mind, we are also working on the timeline of events in the game as well as the whole story.


Q5. Is there any special episode or a character that you are personally attached to?
That would be Tau. He may look like an animal, but as soon as I learned about his past and personality, I was moved. His past was quite traumatic and made his already shy personality even more fragile. Not only was he deprived of freedom, he was also isolated and lonely, feeling that he didn’t belong in the world of humans. He did manage to overcome it all, but I still feel bad for everything he had to go through.




Q6. Is there anything else you would like to say to those waiting for Hunter’s Arena?
I really appreciate that a lot of fans are waiting for our game with high expectations. I promise we won’t let you down. Hopefully, as soon as the game comes out, our fans will love playing it while enjoying the stories of characters and the world.

Firstly we just wanted to thank the community for all of the helpful feedback on Discord and the Steam Forums as well as the streaming and Youtube community providing us with a first hand account of all the things we can do to improve the game. We've been paying attention, and the performance message has been heard loud and clear. We've been working over the last few days to try and identify some of the ways we can improve this, and this patch represents a big leap forward. We've found and eliminated one of the biggest contributors to FPS loss at night. You should see an improvement all across the map. Internal testing now shows FPS is consistent day and night. There are still FPS issues when travelling into asset rich areas. They are caused by loading times and we will be looking at ways to improve those as well. We've also addressed all reported quest issues as we try to make the missions robust no matter what order you complete them in. Keep the feedback coming, it really is appreciated.

Known Issues. This patch has a small problem with the credit screen losing focus, making it difficult to close. Simply clicking on the esc button with the mouse should exit you out. It will be addressed in our next patch, but given the performance and quest improvements in this patch, it didn't seem important enough to delay. We will fix it ASAP.

-Fixed mission What Happened to Poki? This quest is now working as intended, but for anyone who has already attempted this quest and run into trouble I will be posting a solution below to allow you to move forward.

The latest patch for The Island of Eternal Struggle is here! This time, we've added the Bandit class for Bera. This class allows her to use Spice to deal damage and trick her foes. This also introduces Spice and item stealing mechanics.

  • The Bandit class can now be used by Bera, introducing 24 new skills!

Other stuff:
  • New skill for Bera's Booze Hound class - Power Nap. This skill allows Bera to resurrect at random while this skill is equipped.
