Trasus has led a complicated life but found solace in fighting. His strength, his speed and his reflexes still amaze everyone to this day. However, his personality keeps everyone away. Trasus might be hot blooded, ignorant and simple-minded, but no one can deny his might.



NOTE: This champion's design is still under development, there might be changes by the time it is fully implemented on the game.

Lords and Ladies!

This weekend you pushed the boat out and many Heroes came to visit the feast. Some of them got completely carried away by dishes and even forgot their implacable enemies were around.

Everything was fine but inviting Dendromonster to the feast probably wasn’t a good idea. He didn't touch the food anyway (he’s a tree after all!) but was like a bull in a crockery shop. Oh, that crystal chandelier was so lovely! And the expensive hundred-year-old vase...

But there’s always a bright side! Dendromonster, driven by his guilt, decided to pay the damages through his excellent and basically free service as well as unravel secrets of his mastery. Don’t refuse this destroyer’s might!

Bot War - James Richardson
A new patch is finally on the beta branch. Most of my time has been spent making the controls (how you move and look around using the keyboard and mouse) smoother and more versatile. A few bugs where you would end up walking on the spot have been fixed too. The other thing is that you can now set the difficulty level of the bots to easy, medium, or hard.

The difficulty level covers two aspects of bots: reaction time and accuracy. On hard level, bots react instantly, and shoot with absolute accuracy (assuming the speed and direction of the target remains unchanged). On easy level, bots are relatively slow to react, and not particularly accurate at long range. Medium level is what bots have been on up until now. The default difficulty is easy.

Hey all,

A new update is currently being built, and will be made live to each platform as it is ready. Windows 64bit and 32bit are ready now.

Bug Fixes
  • People will now properly heal themselves when given a herbal tea.
  • You can no longer apply for guard captain in towns you don't live in.
  • Merchant and military camps are back, after a bug shut them down.
  • Spouses of children will now show up in family trees.
  • The player's home town will no longer randomly change.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause Positions of Power to not display correctly.
  • Spouse will no longer buy food they has been stored at home already.
  • Fixed several issues that could cause game lockups and crashes.
  • You can no longer pay a fine when you don't have enough money.
  • Fixed some instances of fields populating twice.

New Things
  • New people window to make it easier to fined people you know.
  • Command menu will now say if someone is busy.
  • Commands that are cooling down will now display as such.
  • New water added.
  • New foliage.
  • Player can now get drunk.
  • New buff 'Bliss' that can fulfil needs and increase health, but stops you learning new things for a small period of time. This can be obtained by drinking, or having relations with your spouse.
  • New notifications.

Tweaks
  • Removed guard dogs for now, as they did not work correctly anymore and I want to replace them.
  • Enhanced terrain textures.
  • Performance tweaks.
  • Divorcing your spouse is now more costly.
  • General improvements.
  • Game will no longer unpause when issuing a command to your player.
  • Camera warp will no longer change your zoom.
  • You can now adjust camera panning sensitivity in options. Camera panning should also now be more consistent.
  • Artwork changes.


Still working hard on lots of things, but wanted to get something out.

Adapt - Mutwe

Adapt Phase 1: Eutopia

The first phase of Adapt’s Early Access Development Roadmap is now is now publicly visible. Of course, be aware that everything is subject to change, deadlines WILL fluctuate, and features may be added or redacted as development progresses.

Adapt’s Alpha stage development post early access launch later this year will be broken up into a few phases, and all early access players should be aware of what to expect from that game at each stage. So let’s talk about phase 1: Eutopia.

Adapt: Eutopia is all about developing and testing the game's core mechanics. Fundamental animal behaviors, the species and map editors, the evolution / customization systems, and the “basic” gameplay loop.

The big takeaway from this phase is that the game will likely feel very easy and peaceful, hence the name. Other than some light predation, and occasionally wandering into a low habitability zone, the world is a pretty safe place for your little critter buddies. So it’s going to feel very sand-box-y during this phase.

If you are looking to get involved in Adapt’s early design feedback, this phase will be a great time, as I will be focused heavily on animal behavior and AI, key gameplay features, and general world-building / content updates; so strong community feedback, both supportive and critical will be a huge asset for sculpting the foundations of the game.

*Edit: Version 1.2.1b has now been uploaded to fix an issue with people not gathering resources of the ground sometimes.

Changes

AI and Gameplay
- If a resource's condition is below 50%, then the AI will store it with very high priority.
- New default resource limits: Meat: 30, Bones: 10, Raw Skins: 10. This prevents Hunting work areas from getting overused if it's not required.

Optimizations
- Human and animal paths are now saved in savegames, this prevents the game from stuttering at the beginning sometimes when recalculating them.
- Various performance optimizations from the console version are now included, which make the game run better with high population counts.

Stability
- If the game now detects that the settings or profile are corrupted, it will reset them instead of crashing out.
- Making the game more tolerant to corrupted savegames.
- Fixed crash when clicking on enable/disable if a human was also selected.
- Preventing messages from focusing on destroyed entities

Game now uses RawInput for handling gamepads; some rare / "non-standard" gamepads should work better now.

Also, number of visual tweaks :
  • added decals on wall/ground after character hit;
  • added soft-particles / soft-billboards for certain effects;
  • improved HUD for better key-rune indication;
