Last time we fawned over the dithered and glitchy world of Totem Teller, we hadn’t even seen it moving. Reader dear, this morning I saw it in motion and must resume our fawning. I still don’t know what this “game about storytelling and discovery” is but I have now cracked my monitor by trying to plunge my head under the waterfall I saw in a GIF today. It looks: gorgeous. The busted pixels and blood on my screen enhance the effect, really.

Archery in Mordhau is a bit of a polarizing topic. At times a skilled Longbowman laying waste to their enemy from afar can be just about the most frustrating thing imaginable. Other times, you might go what feels like 5 whole minutes without ever landing a shot – except on your own teammates. If you’re looking to improve your game from the latter to the former, then our Mordhau archery & ranged combat guide might be exactly what you’re after. We’ll walk you through each of the three ranged weapons in turn, alongside practical tips relating to perks, positioning, timing, and all sorts of other useful tidbits to help you rack up eight kills for every death.

If, like me, you’ve been having a tremendously good time with Mordhau since its release just the other week, then you’ll no doubt be interested in all the upcoming content and new features that developers Triternion have promised are on their to-do list. Our Mordhau patch notes and future content guide will not only run through everything that’s changed in Mordhau since its release, but also give you a glimpse at everything that’s coming soon to this marvellous medieval brawler, from new maps and game modes to modding support, and more.
I can’t think of another game that has so quickly made me care so much. I’m staring at Emma Fisher, adrift in zero gravity after (another) unknown calamity has buckled our space station and briefly disabled my camera feed. I’m looking at what might be a floating corpse, aghast at the idea that I’m responsible for it. She isn’t moving. She isn’t telling me what to do. In some ways, I’m more lost than she is.
I’m the AI, you see.
If you’re tempted by the discounts Epic Games are reportedly themselves paying for in their Store’s first big sale, be aware that it might stop you from buying many games. Some users are reporting their accounts have been blocked from further purchases until they contact support because they, uh, tried to buy lots of games while they were cheap. That’s anti-fraud protection kicking in, Epic say. But who’d need to complete five separate transactions in a row if the store had a shopping cart? The sale seems to have ruffled the feathers of a few publishers too.
God does not play dice with the universe, I once read on a Mini Milk stick, but Thea 2 s pantheon of Slavic-inspired deities seem well up for a game of cards. You don t play as a mortal in this hybrid strategy role-playing game, but an all-powerful entity guiding the life of a hapless schmo in their quest from wanderer to chosen hero of a blossoming settlement. Thus began the chronicle of Cabbage Joe.
I love flying my tiny, insanely twisted shadow ship in Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. Regardless of whether you like the rest of this 2D Metroidvania-y exploration game, the one thing you cannot fault is the feel and handling of your silhouetted space saucer. It’s such a joyous thing to whizz around the screen, responding effortlessly to every key press with the elegance of a rocket-powered gazelle. Everything might be out to get you in this strange, hostile environment, but never has such a piddly little spacecraft felt this mighty.

The latest Elder Scrolls Online expansion, Elsweyr, isn’t officially> out until June 4th, but Bethesda are letting PC players brave the cat-and-dragon infested jungle expansion two weeks early, starting today, to discover any bugs before the console folks arrive. On top of the usual new places to see and dungeons to delve, Elsweyr gives players a chance to dig deep into the weird lore of the Khajiit cat-people, and tussle with a bunch of big angry dragons. Below, a launch trailer that confirms that the name for a group of dragons is a ‘Rage’, apparently. You learn something every day.

Despite the first game being a bit rubbish, publisher City Interactive Games are insistent on making Lords Of The Fallen 2 a thing. They’ve also booted recently-hired developers Defiant Studios from it just one year into production. As reported (and translated from Polish) by Eurogamer, the publisher announced via a press release that their partnership was being terminated over “inadequate execution by Defiant [of] a key work stage”. It seems that the publisher were unhappy with both the quality and timeliness of the project, although Defiant disagree with CI’s portrayal of their company.

Outer Wilds – not to be confused with The Outer Worlds – finally has a release date after yonks in development. Mobius Digital say it’s landing next Thursday, May 30th. I’m a bit excited for this one, as I’ve had an eye on it ever since its early days as a short, free proof-of-concept demo in 2013. It’s your first day as a low-budget space explorer, but it’ll be a long one as it’s also the day your miniature-scale solar system collapses and gets sucked through a time warp. So it’s off repeatedly planet-hopping in your janky little spacecraft, in search of a way to break the cycle. See the launch trailer below.
