I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Supergiant Games. I loved Bastion, didn’t really get on with Transistor, and have never summoned the strength to try another one since. Indeed, fellow Supergiant admirers Matt and Ollie were, and I quote, “aghast” when I said I wasn’t much of a fan of Transistor’s soundtrack earlier in the week (which are fighting words coming from the self-proclaimed soundtrack queen herself), but our chat reminded me just why I love Bastion as much as I do – and part of that is because back in 2012, I decided a fun thing to do would be to record every line of dialogue in the game, not once, but twice (because the New Game+ dialogue is different>, I’ll have you know), and then type it all up and write a 6000 word essay about the real> story of Bastion for no reason in particular.

Ol’ Geralt has gone tumbling through another magical portal, this time travelling from the world of The Witcher 3 to Monster Hunter: World. The crossover event lets us play as Geralt to track and murder a Witcher monster, the leshen treeman, with his usual Witching ways. Do so and you can get his armour and sword, plus a gruesome outfit for your Palico catfriend. A second, tougher part of the crossover starring Ciri will follow later this month with her gear as rewards, but only for a few weeks.
Fortnite Battle Royale Season 9 has arrived, and along with it, the future. Neon cities have popped up around the map. A network of big ringed structures propel people through the skies. There is a new shotgun.
Before we get into all that, though, you should watch what happens to this banana.

Welcome to the future of Fortnite. Season 9 sees the dawn of a new era, with many changes being made to the map after the volcano erupted in Season 8. As such, there will be a plethora of new challenges, including the brand new scavenger hunts known as “Fortbytes”, required to unlock a hidden secret.
Now into its ninth season, Fortnite is a global juggernaut when it comes to just how popular it still is. There’s still a lot to learn about not only getting that all-important “Victory Royale”, but also the changes to the map as the seasons progress. For some beginner’s tips, make sure you go to our main [cms-block] hub for every single thing you need to know to get started.
Even as a kid, I always had a fascination with death. It s manifested in a number of different ways over the years. From learning various mythologies to get a grasp on their take on the afterlife, to reading mystery novels that taught me hundreds of impractical ways to nearly get away with murder, most of my hobbies involved death in some form. So, it’s not shocking that a lot of my enjoyment of RedLynx’s Trials series comes from its dark sense of humor in the same direction, taken to new heights in Trials Rising.
Even when successful, levels end with the rider dying in a ridiculous way that takes advantage of the title s ragdoll physics. It could be said that each level is a lot like life itself: there’s a series of challenges that you can either get past or tumble over, but eventually even the best of us will wind up dead, as we all do. From careening over a cliff on a motorbike.
Sega have snapped up another PC strategy studio, today announcing they’ve bought Two Point Hospital developers Two Point Studios. They haven’t stated the English studio’s price, but I trust payment was made in the form of a giant novelty cheque. Sega note that Two Point have “several” unannounced projects in the pipeline, in a dry business-y way, while the studio themselves just shouted on Twitter that “You can bet your bottom this means new, exciting management sims coming from us!”
The jungle is a rumblin’, thanks to Dota 2‘s International 2019 Battle Pass. Nowadays Dota 2’s Battle Passes aren’t just big sticker books where you make predictions about how your favourite athletes will perform in the wizard world championships, they’re books you have to buy if you want to play a special mode and access features that give you an advantage. That first inclusion is fair. The second seems… real bad? Ach, we’ll get back to those.

It’s always sad when a promising indie dev goes under. The latest is Ultra Ultra, a Copenhagen-based outfit whose first (and last) game was Echo, a stealthy-actiony-horror-ish type game where a croaky-throated young woman travels to an ornate, planet-sized palace in order to try to revive a long-lost friend she’s carrying around in a red cube on her back. Oh, and it’s also full of her own clones that mimic her every move and are all out to kill her. What fun!
