Tom Clancy's Ghost ReconĀ® Wildlands - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Dominic Tarason)

Ubisoft’s attempts to drum up hype for a Ghost Recon announcement tomorrow have been a tad undermined by their own store back-end, revealing the game’s title: Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Pre-order details for a collector’s edition of the game were snapped and posted on Reddit, although have since been removed. If the leak is accurate, then Breakpoint will continue the story started by the latest Ghost Recon Wildlands DLC mission, Operation Oracle, featuring Punisher actor Jon Bernthal as unstable Ghost leader Cole D. Walker. The leak described the game as a “story-driven four-player experience”, which sounds like a Wildlands sequel to me.

A Republican senator is set to introduce a bill that would restrict loot boxes and other predatory business models specifically aimed at children, as reported by GamesIndustry.biz. The “Protecting Children From Abusive Games Act” is the brain-child of Senator Josh Hawley, and would put the American FTC (Federal Trade Commission) in charge of enforcing the new rules. If this law were to pass, then games aimed at children would be outright prohibited from letting kids buy loot boxes, microtransaction currency and more, and additional restrictions would wall them off from younger buyers in other games.

After a relaxing stay on the public test realm, the latest competitive Overwatch map makes its way to the regular leagues. Released yesterday, Havana is an Escort map set on the anachronistic but sunny streets of Cuba. Befitting the location, the attacking team are trying to get a truck full of rum barrels to the Don Rumbotico distillery, presumably to be filled with delicious dark booze. In centring the map on rum, perhaps Blizzard have finally found a foolproof way to keep players on the objective? Probably not. Either way, there’s a map trailer below, full of Latin American style.

Of all the developers to head up a John Wick game, Mike Bithell of Thomas Was Alone, Subsurface Circular and Volume is not one I could have predicted. John Wick Hex also looks like a bit of an oddball, genre-wise. It’s a pseudo-turn-based tactics game, with players planning Keanu Reeves’s every move in order to dodge, parry and shoot his way through each gunfight with maximum style, and minimum damage taken or ammo wasted. There’s no release date yet, but you can get a first peek at the game in the trailer below, plus some screenshots showing off its interface.

We’ve already seen how the new Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 compares to its most immediate predecessor, the GTX 1050 Ti (have a read of our GTX 1650 vs 1050 Ti article for the complete skinny), but have you ever wondered how it stacks up to today’s most popular graphics card, Nvidia’s 6GB GTX 1060? Well, wonder no more, as I’ve put both cards head to head to find out which one can lay claim to the pointiest average frame rate graphs. How much difference does that extra 2GB of memory add to the equation? Let’s find out.

Mordhau’s armoury contains quite the selection of weapons with which you can carve, stab, slice, or dismember your way to victory. But if you’ve ever clicked on the “advanced” tab for any weapon in the armoury, you’ll see just how much is going on beneath the surface. Seriously, have you ever seen so many damage values for a single weapon? I sure hadn’t, which is what made writing this Mordhau weapons and stats guide so daunting.

Below I’ve done my very, very best to condense the massive amounts of information on every single weapon in Mordhau so that it’s easy to understand and identify the strengths and weaknesses of each one. I’ll walk you through each weapon in order of its point cost, with my own personal opinions on how to succeed with them. So if you want to know your Arming Swords from your Falchions, your Bardiches from your Halberds – well, you’re in the right place.

As part of Minecraft‘s tenth anniversary celebrations, Mojang have dusted off an early 2009 iteration, packaged it up into free, browser-friendly format and called it Minecraft Classic. This nearly-decade-old build is an interesting museum piece, not quite a game yet, but it was still unmistakably Minecraft at this point. Players are free to generate and explore procedurally generated worlds and build with a palette of 32 block types, although mining and crafting hadn’t been implemented at this point. Give it a spin here and maybe invite some friends, as it supports online play.

Last time on Wastes of Space: Alice, Matt and Nate were sent into the black with no training; three chumps signed on as bronze level colonists with Royal Planetary Services, and commissioned to find riches at the wild edge of space. After making landfall on an unnamed world, they found themselves separated, but in radio contact with the enigmatic robot ODD. Despite helpful instructions from their new friend, they were repeatedly savaged by wolves, and turned into smears of red on the mountains by jetpack accidents. As night fell, things were looking bleak. >

Yeah I miscounted the days, so today is actually day 14, but only one meteor hit the earth? I think? Honestly I’m not sure any more. Yesterday I went to get some pasta from the shop on my way home and they’d run out which made me really sad. Then I was properly passive-aggressive but also sort of just aggressive actually to my housemate, because he made late night chilli and got a load of rice the sink and left it. Apparently household chores are often a final straw for me.
