Animal Friends Adventure - Deverydoo
A huge thank you to everyone who has purchased the game, the curators and the streamers!

This is my first Steam Game and the last few days since release has been an amazing learning experience and quite busy.

I'm working on adding in Cloud saves (That "should" convert current saves). There's also a few bugs that some streamers and awesome Gamers pointed out that i'll be fixing in the next few days.

The bug fixes are being worked on and will be out as soon as the beta branch is thoroughly tested and I do some playthroughs.

Been working on more optimizations using the new trees and decided to make a build so you all could check it out too.

The screenshot above is at 2560x1440 with most settings turned up. Note the 150+ framerate at the bottom left of the screenshot!

Now, this is one tree with no variety yet so the framerate won't be that high once I add in the variety and the leaf colors, but overall it's a great starting point and about 30-40 FPS higher than I get with the current trees.

Also, unlike the current trees, the leaves on these move with the wind.

To try this yourself, grab the latest test build (instructions linked below) and load a new game. Has to be a new game as these trees aren't set up to work with chopping down.

Once your character loads into the world do the following to replace the current trees with the new tree:

Hold down right-alt and right-ctrl and then press T.
While still holding down right-alt and right-ctrl, press H.

The new trees should appear and the old ones get turned off.

Going to do more tests with this myself on my test PCs. I'm happy with the overall optimizations so far so I'll probably release a full build (without the tree hotkeys) a bit later today.

FoV now changes when jumping.
Pickups fly to you which doesn't do anything new yet but it looks cool. I will be adding upgrades that increase magnetism range and later when I add selectable perks you will be able to buy and unlock large magnetism.

I added more levels including the biggest room design I've ever done for DD. It's inspired by the Mario 64 level Tick Tock Clock. It's got a lot of jumps and absolutely requires the game's movement mechanics. It isn't finished as it still needs traps/hazards but it's in the room rotation. Upgrades like Jump height and Jump+ have extreme value here.

I removed the second floor's unique tile set. I'm starting to work on much bigger more mechanical levels and as a solo developer I'm feeling like working on many unique tile sets is actually slowing development. If you guys want these floors to be unique then we can go back and do that over the course of development. Right now I want to create so many levels that you could run the first tile set through all five levels and always have a unique run. I will of course convert those levels that were removed into the base tile set so that there is more variety.

There is a bug when entering the portal a level doesn't build. It won't let you teleport so just walk back to spawn and try again. I'll figure this out.

Today's update is a small one to celebrate the UP Big Boy 4014 which just ran under its own power for the first time in sixty years!

This Big Boy has been in the processes of being restored to working condition, and now that's able to move under it's own steam it is currently the largest operational steam locomotive in the world.

Anyway, this update gives the in-game Big Boy some adjustments, including the 4014 road number and a bell!
Both the Berkshire and Big Boy now have animated bells, and the custom liveries have also been updated to include the new changes.



This update also makes some changes to how the save backup system works. Backups are now made every time a map is saved, every time a map is left (loading another map, quitting to menu) and when a map is deleted. The save name now also says which kind of backup it was (Save over, Session quit, Delete).

The loading screens now also show additional information about clearing memory and saving backups.

  • Added more information to the CPU product design workflow. More improvements on the way. Now, there is a bit more (not too much) feedback about what you can expect from the CPU you are designing.
  • Implemented the first pass of the sales performance UI. You can now view how well your product is performing Globally, Regional and Local. More will be added soon to this window as well as charts and more sales evaluation tools.
  • Slight improvements overall to the UI. This will be an ongoing process
  • Adjusted some AI behavior (company & customers) with more refinement. This will also be an ongoing process.
  • Underlying code refinements were made for upcoming content implementations as a result of the recent additions, etc..

    Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug when placing chairs, they would show up one floor level up from the current set level.
  • Additional non-game breaking bugs were also addressed.

I do not plan to update the game regularly anymore with the exception of needed bug fixes (there are a few on my list). I am currently working on another title. Hatchet Mountain and other stories are now on hold as development efforts are dedicated elsewhere.
