Update 2/15/2019:

The 2S6 Tunguska is an advanced 1970s Soviet hybrid SPAA vehicle, intended to replace the highly successful, yet outdated Shilka. Coming as part of update 1.87 "Locked on!", the Tunguska will soon become the new guardian angel of Soviet top tier ground vehicles in War Thunder!

In War Thunder, the 2S6 Tunguska will be a new top tier Soviet SPAA vehicle, available to all tankers with the release of the upcoming update 1.87. Unlike any existing SPAAG in the game, the Tunguska offers a mixed set of two anti-air weapon types, both of which are used and perform differently. This feature will give the Tunguska its very own unique playstyle and will provide tankers with more variety as far as high tier SPAA gameplay is concerned.

The Tunguska’s standout feature is its hybrid anti-air armament. Unlike other contemporary SPAAGs, the Tunguska utilizes both conventional anti-air armament, represented by the dual 30mm autocannons, as well as advanced ground-to-air guided missiles.





The 2S6 Tunguska is coming to the top ranks of the Soviet ground forces tree with the release of the War Thunder update 1.87 "Locked on!". In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned to the news for more information regarding the next major update coming to the game. Until then, happy hunting tankers!

The Mitsubishi T-2K is a domestically designed Japanese supersonic jet trainer aircraft, developed in the early 1970s. In update 1.87, Japanese pilots will also have the chance to enter the supersonic era with the introduction of an armed version of the T-2, coming to the game very soon!

With the formation of the JSDF after WW2, Japan’s military equipment, at least as far as air vehicles are concerned, mostly consisted of foreign designs. As military aviation headed more and more towards supersonic speeds in the second half of the 20th century, Japan was faced with the question of how to keep up with this rapid technological advancement.

In the mid 1960s, Japan started looking for a new supersonic jet trainer aircraft to replace the no longer suitable subsonic Fuji T-1. A decision had to be made between acquiring a once again foreign design, or develop an entirely new aircraft locally. In the end, the decision was made to develop and build a new domestically designed aircraft.





The T-2K is on final approach for the top ranks of the Japanese aviation tree and is expected to arrive with the release of the upcoming War Thunder update 1.87. Winona has been hard at work since landing in the Constant, and she’s invented a couple new ingenious tools! Always ready to roll up her sleeves and lend a helping hand, her new Catapult and Spotlight inventions will be sure to keep her new pals safe, no matter what dangers head their way.
