We keep working on the first major update and it is now time to show you some of the contents we will soon release for Chef! As you may know, we are working on the City Map, a new system that will allow you to extend your influence across the city and slowly gather loyal customers. But to do that, we needed to rework how customers work in the game.

We felt like that the current system wasn’t clear enough, we wanted players to have a precise idea of how many people could come to the restaurant with a certain setup. That’s why we reworked the existing customers’ bars that appear in the Menu Panel and in the Policies Panel.



What’s new? Well, let’s start with the fact that there will finally be a clear number representing how many people may currently be interested in coming to your restaurant. All those numbers represent the actual pool of customers of the restaurant and the bars have now a different role: they indicate the Attractiveness of the restaurant’s offer.



While previously the Menu composition directly affected the number of people in the pool, with imprecise effects, now the pool can only be affected by your Popularity and your efforts to reach new districts expanding the influence you have in the city.

It will now be possible to know how many customers will pay a visit during the day, and you will be able to carefully assemble the menu and develop tactics to maximize profits. There will also be a much rewarding progression, since you will have to deal with low-budget customers at the beginning (including the infamous Cheapskates!), and slowly conquer more and more districts to gather enough high-budget customers to finally be able to serve only them in the restaurant!

We are now finishing all mechanics related to the City Map and the player’s expansion in it, and we will soon share more info regarding this major update with you! We are also still fixing bugs and minor issues, and all those fixes will be included in the City Map Update!

Update 1.16 should be live any second, here are some of the major changes:

• New Introduction level (smaller scope, 10 waves, basic game mechanics explained etc.) It will move the player through the major steps, building orders and some of the mechanics that most people seemed to have missed.
  
• Another building order change: Barracks is available by default
  
• Tourist difficulty is now slightly easier
  
• Fixed drag selection bug when selecting buildings and units at the same time
  
• End game performance improved
  
• Some of the very intensive unit physics impacts have been fixed

Another Announcement: Nibû will be on sale for this week beginning from 18.2 - 25.2

All your suggestions sent to our Customer Support and on our social channels have been gathered and are currently under scrutiny. But let's go a bit more in-depth on what you'll find in today's update:

With this patch we give the players the chance to create their own custom Championship, using the endless possibilities given by choosing custom tracks from the Track Editor. This will empower you, players, to create entirely custom competitions and everchanging events for your Championship that you will play with your friends.
ELO is now implemented in the game. With the ELO system, you’ll be now matched with people with a similar level of skill as yours so competition will be fairer.
We made small tweaks to the Track Editor in order to improve its usability, thus allowing to create your tracks more effectively.
Notification Center has received minor fixes to improve its usage and better convey information.
Minor changes to UI have been implemented as well. These changes will improve readability and the general appeal of certain UI aspects.
Minor online fixes have been made to improve the general online experience.

But we know some of you really can't do without a bullet-point so here it is:

• Added custom tracks available for custom Championship
• Added Elo support
• Improved Track Editor usability
• Improved Notification Center
• Minor online fixes
• Minor UI fixes
