Hello Christmas Lovers,

With this update there is a significant improvement in performance! It is most noticeable in levels 7 and 8. This was achieved by adapting the navigation system, which was made possible by an engine update. In addition, the difficulty "easy" was adjusted. For this, new checkpoints were set at certain points and obstacles were adjusted!
And as always, there are a few bug fixes and other improvements.

We have released a new update today to fix a crash (or black screen), that could occur when starting or alt-tabbing the game for a small percentage of our Windows 7 users.

This patch fixes a crash, decreases monster damage, improves precaching of assets, and fixes a bunch of smaller issues.

0.816 change list:

  • fixed a crash when sometimes shader sorting could have an accidental collision (which can cause lots of problems)
  • decreased monster damage per level by 33% (Varkon)
  • fixed towns not always having a path to level edge (Giri)
  • now when holding down right click and kill target it will move to next target easier
  • now can't recruit NPCs that are too much over your level
  • fixed sometimes not getting skill points back when mutating with a specialty or other character (Procura)

How to Get Your Gifts
Your first gifts—two festive boxes from Santa Claus—will be waiting for you right in the game! To get these, simply enter the Port and press the "Santa Claus Containers" banner.

Some of the containers can be obtained in battle, through valiantly accomplishing Combat Missions or fighting in Clan Battles. Containers may also arrive with Daily Shipments and can be granted as rewards for completing the New Year-inspired collection: "Belle Époque". These features will open up gradually throughout the entire duration of the New Year update.

As tradition has it, Santa's containers can also be purchased in the Premium Shop.

What's Inside?
Santa's boxes can bring you doubloons, Free XP, Coal, camo patterns, signals and even Premium warships. All ships come with a slot in the Port and a Commander with 10 skill points. Also note that the bigger the container, the higher the chances of receiving a Premium ship and the bigger the potential rewards!
If you get a ship that you already own, it will automatically be swapped for a different ship from the list. In this situation, a Santa container dropped onto the transport ship in the Port will be changed for a supercontainer, and you will get a ship that comes with a Port slot and Commander with 10 skill points.

If you get a ship that is already anchored in your Port and have collected all the ships that have a chance of being dropped in Santa's containers, the transport ship will be displayed with a Santa container placed on its deck. Once you open the container, you will see the ship it initially carried. That ship, however, will not steer into your Port. Instead, you will receive the ship's price in doubloons, a Port slot, and a Commander with 10 skill points.

  • Added to server persistence: Derelict Spawn rate, spawned ship part limit, client can spawn ship, cargo destroy on container break percentage, auto save frequency, velocity soft cap, ship part limit, resources set as infinite.
  • Added map icon for current controlled ship, (indicates direction ship is pointing).

Changes:
  • Lowered the stars overall gravity and increased the radius of the star's gravity well. (objects can now hold a stable orbit around the star).
  • Improvements to weapon carry poses.

Fixes:
  • Fix for null ref error on status bars when parts are destroyed.
  • Fixed issue allowing ships to move through raised terrain.

Hold Your Own - msorella
BUG FIX - Friendly AI were not spawning in MP games, please start a new game if playing MP as they only spawn on game creation.
BUG FIX - Quests were not being set when loading a save game in Story Mode without tutorials.
BUG FIX - Forgot to remove the free ferry pole item in sandbox games.


Sorry for all these small updates, I just like to bang them out as they get fixed.

The Lovebirds - Cafearatus
During these four days, The Lovebirds' Demo already had an unexpectedly high amount of downloads


The Lovebirds Demo has now been available for four days and so far there hasn't been much reports of any major bugs. I'm currently working on the full version, of course, but this month there is planned to be an update with some minor bug fixes in the demo version.
