It’s been a rough few months for free-to-play games, and the latest to be ground up by 2018 is Total War: Arena, the team-based tactical spin-off from the historical strategy series. The game entered open beta nine months ago, but failed to draw the crowds that developers Creative Assembly and publisher Wargaming were hoping for, so they’re pulling the plug early. You can see the official announcement here. On the bright side, anyone with the game can log in to pick from one of four Total War-related consolation prizes, including Medieval 2: Definitive Edition.

With Fallout 76 releasing earlier than it was supposed to (thanks Bethesda), there’s no better time to emerge from Vault 76 and make your mark in the world of Appalachia. However, this is not the typical Fallout game, as this one is online. There are a ton of other changes; from how Perks work to setting up your own CAMP. This guide will go over some of these major changes, as well as explains things like hunger and thirst, Bobbleheads, multiplayer, and more. (more…)

Ever since people ventured into Appalachia, it soon became apparent that Bobbleheads and Magazines work a fair bit differently in Fallout 76. Instead of being permanent upgrade, both Bobbleheads and Magazines are now consumable temporary buffs that provide either increases to your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, or a trait such as weapon specific boost. Since they work slightly differently this time, there are more places that you can find them, this guide will have more on their locations, exactly how to obtain them, and when it is best to collect duplicates. As Fallout 76 is an online game, there are going to be times where you can’t play it because Bethesda are doing things to it. Since information is only ever published in certain areas of the internet, you may not see the advance notices, meaning that a night’s plan may be ruined. Nobody wants that, so in order to avoid disappointment, I’ve put together this page which will have any information regarding any planned maintenance days, along with all the times and dates in your area. Great Britain’s Gambling Commission did not call loot boxes gambling or a gateway to gambling in a new report, the body have stressed after some media coverage of it claimed that they did. Their ‘Young People & Gambling 2018’ report, based on a survey of young’uns aged 11-16 “to explore gambling behaviour among young people in Great Britain”, did repeat the body’s stance that betting using in-game items (‘skin gambling’, the ever-disappointing name is) can be illegal gambling. However, the only mentions of loot boxes was in cautious questions around “gambling-style games”.
