There isn't much to report this week. The rebuild is underway and moving along slowly but surely. For the current build the week has been spent talking to customers and changing the game based of thier feedback.

It’s been a busy week over at Flix, we’ve moved into our new office which is a big step up from the house we were in previously that was becoming rather cramped! We have also had more people join us too!
We’ve decided that this week we are going to take a look at the Experimental Branch feedback and how we are looking to respond over the coming weeks. With everything that’s been going on this week with the move and other projects on, in all honesty, we’ve been a little light on responding in code, more design and decisions, so without further adieu, let’s take a look at some of the key points raised;

Resource acquisition could use some tweaks for testing purposes I'm several hours into my savegame in the exp branch now and can't craft anything because of the low resource droprates (acid + the rare minerals). It would be nice if the drop rates and means of acquisition get some love right now, because at this point I can't even build three graphene without farming huntermites for an hour, which is too slow and unreliable. The secondary resource requirements seem a bit over the top for me.
Then, looking at the resource distribution further on, I really suggest giving every resource dedicated nodes instead of making some randomly drop from metal/quartz nodes. - Genoscythe
Gathering resources is something that we are going to balance in the near future. We have seen that getting some materials can be a chore so we are going to be having a deeper look into the resource economy to make the game more enjoyable.

Ok, I was liking the whole atmosphere and all the little notes and details you put in, But I really don't like seeing entrails or other organs exposed. If you could just leave that part out of the game, that is fine. Also the new radiation sensor is a nice touch of putting in a new game mechanic. - FireStorm Victory
We mainly use things like this in the game to cause tension and make the players think “I don’t want that to happen to me” and not to cause any genuine discomfort to the person playing the game.

There is no hydration. Water is now food.
What you are thinking of as 'hydration' is suit fuel. They changed the icon to make it more obvious.

Removing hydration was something we did for balancing reasons. We are still working on finishing up fuel on player which will provide energy for the kinetic laser module. This is something that as a player you will have to keep on checking over. We think that having too many stats to keep track of can be very frustrating.

Most of the “No physics materials” sprites appearing have been fixed as of latest experimental build V0.3.3
So, can we please get some smoother Running/Jumping animations, while climbing the transmission tower I fell of 3 times because when running to jump you leap like a 3 Centimeter distance. - Commander Tempest
We will be polishing up quite a few aspects to the pioneer character like sprint speed, jump height/distance and health.
Multiplayer:
Will multiplayer make a comeback with the new updates or is it completly gone (hope not) - SSundee
Multiplayer will be back with a vengeance, but it is under maintenance at the moment as we feel it isn’t quite where we want it to be. There are a bunch of features that will need adjusting to cater for multiplayer.

So we’re still putting 100% of our effort into Eden Star as and when we can over the coming months, our current focus is multiplayer stability and AI fights again so that night time battles come back with a renewed vengeance! Thanks again to eveyone who has tried the Beta Branch recently and for all the feedback so far.

- Turkish! - Thank you to everyone who contributed. Badges will be given out this patch to Latvian, Polish, and Turkish translators - Some languages are not fully up-to-date. We are very close to finalizing our improved workflow for updating languages. Stay tuned for an announcement
Game Fixes
Melee Targeting - Fixed a bug where melee units wouldn't always target the units that aggroed them first if all targets had been attacking them for longer than 10 seconds (most noticeable on boss waves)
Gameplay Stability - Fixed a bug where units were able to kill allies via buffs that applied max-health damage (aka Vampire). This fixes a rare case where a player who leaked a wave wouldn't be considered as having leaked that wave. This happened if your last unit was killed by the damage from Vampire. This caused some unintended behavior, like leaks being caught in a 'warp loop' because the game thought your fighters were still in combat.
Client Stability - Loading Screen: added another failsafe & more debugging information
Matchmaking - Improved how the matchmaker handles some edge cases - Higher tolerance when fewer players are online - Now much faster for players rated below 900 - After a match is formed, you have a 50% chance to be on the East Team or West Team (before, it was purely determined by ratings)
Bots - Fixed a bug where bots would sometimes not build anything - Bots are now smarter about using Sea Serpents/Deepcoilers
Interface Fixes - Fixed a bug where if you canceled your matchmaking search & requeued within 1 second, the search window would be hidden but you'd still be in queue - Fixed a bug where the Legion Spells window would display as cracked (used spell) when it should have been active/filling up the bar - Fixed a bug where the Legion Spells sound effect would play twice
Game Balance
Light on the balance changes this patch as there hasn’t been enough time since the last patch.
King - Fixed a bug where the King would sometimes be slow to attack the first target, especially on ranged waves (King has been stretching every morning and is now more nimble)

Looter - Health: 130 -> 120

Sea Serpent - Health: 760 -> 740
Deepcoiler - Health: 2250 -> 2200
Tempest - DPS: 44.6 -> 36.7 -- Attack speed: 1.35 -> 1.11 - Anti-Air Turret removed - New ability: Machine Gunner: Deals 10 damage every 0.5 seconds to a nearby ground unit

SECRET WORLD SCAVENGER HUNT
When/Where: Sunday October 28th, 2018 12:00pm EDT in Agartha by the Station Master. Click here to see times for your time zone.
Teams of up to 4 people will participate in a scavenger hunt within a specific zone using hints we will provide. Complete the task faster than other teams in your zone and you’ll win! This event will be streamed on Twitch by Funcom.
Please meet in Agartha at 12:00pm (EDT) on October 28th. At that time, this post will be edited to show all rules and details of what you are hunting. We don’t want to spoil everything just yet. Once your team is gathered, we will transfer you to your assigned zone.
Once all teams are transferred to their designated zone, THIS FORUM POST will be edited to show hints for your zone at exactly 13:00(EDT)(your time zone here). That’s one hour after meetup in Agartha. You can simply click on the arrow to show hints for your zone. That’s when the contest will begin and you can start your hunt!
How to Participate:
Once your team of 4 is gathered, the team leader can enter your team for the contest by emailing us here: contest@funcom.com
For the subject, please use “Scavenger Hunt”
In this email, you need to include your team name, full name of the characters in your team, who the leader is, and the furthest zone you as a group can enter.
THIS IS IMPORTANT: we do not want to assign you a zone that one or more players in your group cannot enter.
We will then email you back once the deadline closes on October 25th, 2018 with your assigned zone.
These zones will be assigned randomly to teams.

SECRET WORLD LEGENDS PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST
Head on over to your favourite grocery store, pumpkin patch or Uncle Sam’s garden. You need a Pumpkin for this - it doesn’t need to be big, as long as you make sure you have enough room for what you want to do! We want to see SWL on a pumpkin! Carve your design however you wish, just make sure that it’s SWL inspired.
