As you may see, Chiaro is listed for a September 13th release. We are quite confident we will make our release date at this point (and hopefully by 9 pm EST), but have had a few hiccups along the way.
If you'd like to come hang out while we get everything organized, you can come chat with us in the discord at https://discord.gg/CycNsGN .
Thank you for supporting Chiaro and The Elixir of Life! We are so excited to introduce you all to the magical world of Neverain.

A lot of cool stuff happened in the last month, and as always, we are working super duper hard to finish the project and deliver to you guys a truly 90s classic platformer game but also expanding this experience with present-day features...
So here are today’s headlines...
WE ARE FINALISTS!
We have been selected as finalists in the Strasbourg Indie Game Contest that will start in the 15 of September along with the Strasbourg Film Festival! Kaze will be available to play there during the week, so if you live nearby you should definitely check it out! Other really cool games will also be available to play there so if you’re into Indie Gaming this is a really interesting event to attend!
MORE COOL FEATURES AND LEVELS
You’ll encounter some fun objects to interact within the levels. The one above (we are currently calling it the Jellyspring) will act as a “spring” that will help you jump higher and gain momentum!
And below is our sling/catapult/gearing thing(please suggest a better name for us!). This object can automatically launch Kaze reeeeally fast in its target direction. There will also be variations of this object where you can control the directions where you can go and only launch it after pressing a button!
Note that both of these are WIP assets that are subject to change and doesn’t represent the final product.
DEVELOPMENT STREAMS!
As some of you may know, we’ve created a Twitch account and are starting to stream the development process of the game. Last week’s stream was with our artist creating enemy animations! We don’t have a fixed stream schedule yet but we’ll try to do it regularly if we feel that you guys are enjoying it! So head over to http://twitch.tv/kazewildmasks and follow us to know when the next stream happens and with that also encourage us to do more frequent streams!

Aaand that’s it for now! Please send us your feedback! Any questions? What do you want to see in the next devlog? Feel free to comment with anything you want! (with manners, of course =D)

Firstly, thank you so much to those of you in the community who have been patient with us getting the game out - we really appreciate it.
We will be working to get Mac and Linux versions out as soon as possible. I will talk to everyone tomorrow and try to get a firm date for you.
I also want to take a look at the issues that people are having with UI scaling above 1080 and see if we can do anything there. To even have a chance of making this game, we had to use an engine which is a little bit venerable, so it's not straightforward but bear with us a bit - I'll see if anything can be done quickly. For now, if you're having issues, the best thing to do is play at 1080.
Wish I could do more instantly but it's late here and we need to regroup a bit before tomorrow!
We hope you are prepared because The Initiation Leveling Event begins tomorrow! Take these rates and turn them into an unforgettable battle experience! From tomorrow until Monday, September 17th, we are offering increases on the following types of gains:
3x Experience monster kills
3x Item Drop rates on all monsters
+2 Contribution Points gains during PvP
Event Duration:
September 14, 2018 11:00 - September 17, 2018 18:00 PDT (Server Time)
Fixed: - Spawner now spawns dinos about 50 units vertically from initial spawn point. This was changed to allow the AI to correctly move once spawned - Reverted starting Perma back to 2500
A new kind of turn-based strategy. Ideas both new and old are fused together to create a game where principles of chess are expanded and developed to form novel, fun, and competitive multiplayer gaming activities. Devise and apply clever strategies, build and siege fortresses, encounter wizardry, and travel the lands of Chessboard Kingdoms!
more emphasis on 1st level yellow highlights to guide player a little less discretly
the bridge in first overworld deploys only when you have finished first bottom level. This is to prevent situations where a player would miss 1 point to choose the necessary bots to finish the level (all levels are supposed to be doable, as soon as you access them)
first fork level reward display is fixed (finishing the level give +1 point)
More importantly, the simulation button -TEST- has been made more obvious.
So what is simulation exactly ?
You access simulation by clicking on the -TEST- button which is available in give order phase.
Simulation will allow you to test the behavior of any bot straight away. This is an optionnal feature, but if you understand it well it will make your playthrough much more enjoyable
simulation runs at speed x2, making it easier to adjust one of your bots
boxes and ennemies are not taken into account: you walk through them
there is a small timer on the bot's head to help you
in simulation mode, elevators are where they will be when the bot will be deployed for real. It takes into account the position of the bot in the team.
you can add virtual blocs and delete them - this is mainly to offer a tool to help you plan situations where one bot walks on another bot's head.
I will probably tweak one or two little details with simulation later, and am pondering if it should be explicitely explained upon manually clicking on add-on icon on overworld.
In the meantime, simulate is very useful, use it !
