Thank you so much for joining us on this adventure! It’s been a long road to this day for us as a development team and we are happy to finally be able to show you Gambit Heart. Currently the game is lacking in features, polish and content but we are working diligently to set the foundation for Gambit Heart to grow into everything we plan on it becoming.

Vilmonic - Bludgeonsoft

I decided to add just ONE MORE FEATURE, after getting tasks working, and that is music. It's almost complete. I'll release a new version soon (I also need to translate all the new copy for tasks). This is it, Vilmonic version 1.0 will launch out of early access very soon!

Dungeon Escape VR - Kristoffer
This patch adds the following feature:

  • Updated how the books works. Now you can change hand when gripping with the second hand.
  • Buzzwire is changed how it interacts with the wand to make it less jittery.
  • Changed friction on ballmaze to make it smoother.
  • Fixed bug with new puzzle.

WWII Online - Xoom
Happy Friday WWII Onliner's! Today we'll talk about how we're placing greater emphasis on the game play environment, and also mention that we're likely to make some modifications to infantry key binds so that they are more consistent with the FPS market. Infantry is the basis of any military unit, and for WWII Online, it happens to be just as critical that we optimize their experience. As such, we'll also talk about maintaining situational awareness, and areas of improvement as an infantryman that are currently being discussed.

GAME PLAY ENVIRONMENT

We're pleased to report that we now have an assigned art team working on short term corrections to existing environment art issues. This team is also currently evaluating our options with SpeedTree. One of our first goals is to see how we can smooth the transition of how trees are populated (rendered) through the game, particularly as you're a pilot flying by at faster speeds. We also really want to resolve how the coloration seems to be off from close up trees to more distant trees, a very different green hue then it should be.

So a big thanks to Xl2Rippr and Mkw for their efforts so far, and to the Terrain team Merlin51 and Five who are helping them out greatly.

INFANTRY CONTROLS UPDATE IN PLANNING



While we don't have specific control updates to announce yet, we can tell you that there are some keys that come as quite a bit of a shock (un-natural) to players who are joining our game for the first time. It's safe to say that it would make sense to improve things for a new persons experience so they can more easily learn how to play and enjoy WWII Online.

We should also note we're taking a close look at making mouse sensitivity smoother and more natural, as somewhere along the line it got a little bit rougher. More to follow on this one.

FREE LOOK WHILE RIDING VEHICLES

For several of our new players who are riding on a vehicle, looking around is a welcome thing to do. As it stands right now you need to press the "N" key to activate free look, to use your mouse to move the infantry camera point of view. We're discussing the feasibility to make it auto-activate when you jump onto a vehicle's riding position as an infantryman, and auto-deactivate it once jumping off. We think this will help them more easily examine the game world and improve immersion / situational awareness. 

HOLD FREE LOOK AS INFANTRY (NON-VEHICLE)

There's been discussion and a request for evaluation placed into the queue to see if it's possible for us to allow a user to press free look while on the run, so that you must hold it, then as you let go it would automatically snap back into the forward looking position. The key to activate free look will also change, very likely to be the LEFT-ALT key (to be determined). We think this would really improve a users experience in the field and help them check their surroundings with great accuracy and speed. The old Q+E keys have panned the head 90 degrees left and right for a good while, but it's snapping back and forth isn't smooth and you have an area where you can miss important items (11 o'clock and 1 o'clock can be missed).

Unlockables earned in the Public Test Branch do not carry over to the main game. Currency earned in this mode cannot be used to unlock containers. You will be able to earn all these unlockables again once the level is promoted to the main branch- and unlock all their rewards.

To switch to the Public Testing Branch, right click on Hot Lava in steam and click Properties.


Select the BETAS tab, enter the beta access code "participationaward" and click CHECK CODE. After this the drop down above will let you select the Public Test Branch. After switching, Hot Lava will need to download the new content.

Nowhere! It's been a while since we pushed a playable update out to Steam but that's because we're knee deep in an entire game engine upgrade. It's going well...but slow!

So while it may have looked a bit quiet here on Steam, if you've been following us on social media you already know that we've been sending out progress updates every week and even streaming each internal update for you guys on Twitch.

Robothorium - Akrythael
We've made several fixes to reduce even more the possibility of fights hanging randomly, as well as fixing several minor bugs here and there.

In addition, an new secondary mission is now available.

Features
  • New secondary mission available: Scientific espionage. Put some spy devices in the facility and find a way out.

Improvements
  • S.C.O.U.T.’s tier 2 talent Turbulences mitigation has been implemented.
  • Players can now close the fighter details window in fight by using Escape.
  • The “Defeat” button has been temporarily disabled in fight in Rebellion mode.
  • Security added to pass the turn of enemies if AI gets stucked.

Bug fixes
  • Fixed an issue allowing players to buy robots in the hangar even if team and reserve were full.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes considered the reserve to contain a maximum of 6 robots instead of 9.
  • Fixed an issue allowing items that should be locked to drop when completing demonstrations.
  • Fixed an issue preventing all the items to correctly load in the reforge and recycle list.
  • Fixed an issue allowing locked secondary missions to be available on the world map.
  • Fixed an issue preventing secondary missions to be correctly loaded on the world map.
  • Added missing rewards for Rescue secondary mission.
  • Fixed several issues resulting in a combat hang. There might still be some that we have overlooked, so don’t hesitate to tell us on Steam forums or on our Discord.
  • Fixed an issue allowing demonstrations to give negative reputation for the same faction that the one implied for the demonstration.
  • Fixed an issue where W.A.R. Neutronic ammo was increasing Overload when launching again on crit.
