Finally - and after far too much time in Early Access - the game will be released on July 10th!
It has been a long journey, but thanks to your incredible support it was a dream come true for me as an indie developer.

In order to test the game as best as possible before the release date, I'll push next week a v0.99 version. This version will be the same as the one currently in the beta branch, but without the big new v1.0 content (3 new game modes, hazardous environment option, and new musics) that I'll keep for the official release date.
But it will have all the little improvements and bug fixes done since the v0.35 (and there are a lot!), and technically it will be the same code as the beta, which will help me a lot to fix any big issue before the release, and do the remaining improvements to the game.

As planned since the v0.06, the final price will be increased to $12 (now $10).
But in order to be able to create a launch sale of -10% (as Steam requires at least one month between a price increase and a sale), I'll set this final price before the release, when I release this v0.99 next week. This will also help me to avoid confusion while communicating about the release, as the final price will be already set.

In short: around May 24th, the price will be increased to $12.

So, if you think about buying the game, I suggest you to either buy it now, or to wait for the v1.0 release on July 10th to enjoy the launch sale.

Of course during that time you'll still be able to play the full v1.0 current content by activating the public beta branch.

Hey everyone, and sorry about the radio silence lately!

I've been taking some time off development, but now I'm back with regular updates again!

This update adds a dialog system to the game. The dialogs will be mainly used in the conquest mode (which obviously isn't available yet), but I figured I should spend some time working on this feature and get your feedback on its first iteration. This means the gameplay changes in this update are very light, but you should look forward to some of the upcoming changes that are hinted at in this update ;)!

Right now there are two dialogs available in the game. The first one will automatically pop up, but the second is hidden in the game. Make sure you check out the new roadmap page for some hints to find it!



The roadmap was added to give a more clear picture of what remains to be added into the game before it leaves Early Access. I want to keep adding features to the game after it leaves Early Access too, so don't get discouraged if your favorite game suggestion isn't on the roadmap, it might be added later down the line anyway!

- Added roadmap menu page
- Fixed some minor issues when loading modded maps/weapons
- Added some weapon modding features allowing modders to create more realistic weapons with simulated chambered rounds and mag drops.
- For sure no secrets!!!


To anyone a bit sad that this update doesn't contain more gameplay updates - sorry about that! I'll make sure to update the beta branch with new gameplay elements as soon as possible, so be on the look out!!!

Finally, Ravenfield has now been on steam for exactly one year, and I'd like to thank everyone for the massive support for the game! Thanks to you, I can work full time on the game without any worries which is super exciting! Thank you!

Frostpunk - Rufus Blackwood


Hello there, Citizens!

We're received a lot of feedback from you since Frostpunk's release. Some of it was about game's features and content updates (more on that at the end of this post) - and some was strictly about technical stuff. Our Tech Support and QA guys worked very hard to investigate, replicate and fix all the major and most common issues.

Here's the full list of changes and fixes:
  • Default display mode detection fix - we know you've experienced some issues with screen resolutions; it should be all fixed now (if it's still happening for you - we have a manual solution that you can use - described below)
  • More diagnostics tools - we've added some analytics that will help us track and fix issues in the future
  • "Bread and Games" achievement is working properly now
  • "The Union" achievement is fixed as well - it was working before - but was triggered by wrong events
  • "Iron Man (The Arks)" achievement is fixed - now it's only possible to get it during The Arks scenario
  • Memory leaks are fixed - which should improve stability and overall performance (more FPS, less crashes etc.)
  • Save game buffor memory increased - which should eliminate any issues that you had with autosaving feature
  • Fixed a bunch of crashes related to Heaters, Generator and endlog timelapse
Added feature: AlienFX.
Working with Alienware, we've added new feature to our game - which should brighten up Frostpunk's dark atmoshpere a bit. If you're using compatible hardware:
  • Your keyboard's backlight colours will change depending on the current temperature in your city. And let's just say: if you see some purple lights - better fire up that Generator overdrive.
  • Weather warnings - when the temperature rises or drops - your keyboard will let you know about it, pulsating with coresponding colours.

Screen resolutions issue - manual solution.
Remember that one pesky issue that we've mentioned in "changes and fixes" section? The one about resolutions? Well, we've fixed it. However, it's not humanly possible to test it on each and every hardware configuration. So if you - for some strange reason - still encounter this problem, do not despair, we have a manual solution for you.

Long story short:
  • we've added a special file to game's folder. It is called "GfxConfig.ini"
  • you can open it using Notepad - that's easy!
  • then you can change some setting by yourself - like Quality (Low - Very High), VSync, resolution, windowed mode/fullscreen
  • for these settings to work - you have to launch the game with -gfxconfig parameter (find instructions on how to do that below)
  • when you launch the game - you can change in-game settings as you please
  • however, whenever you launch the game again with -gfxconfig parameter - it will reset to settings from the GfxConfig.ini file
  • if you remove the -gfxconfig parameter - game will launch with the settings that you've selected in-game
So we suspect that most of you are going to:
  • Set windowed mode with a low resolution (800x600) in GfxConfig.ini
  • Launch the game with -gfxconfig parameter
  • Change the settings to desired ones
  • Quit the game
  • Remove the -gfxconfig and launch the game without it from now on
How do I add -gfxconfig parameter?

The easy way:
- Right-click on Frostpunk in your Steam library;
- Click on “SET LAUNCH OPTIONS”;
- Write “ -gfxconfig” in the newly appearing window (without the inverted commas but with space before the dash character);
- Click “OK” and launch the game

The hard way:
- Right-click on Frostpunk in your Steam library;
- Navigate to the “Local files” tab and click on “Browse Local Files…”;
- New explorer window with the game files will open, please find “Frostpunk.exe” in the folder;
- Create a shortcut to the application in the very same folder;
- Right-click on the newly-created shortcut, select “Properties”;
- In the “Target” line, add “ -gfxconfig” at the very end of the path (without the inverted commas but with the space before the dash character);
- Apply the changes;
- Launch the game using the newly-created and edited shortcut
