Shatter EVERYTHING is now available on Steam!

Thank you for all your support and feedback. I'm looking forward to advancing the game using what I've heard, but for now, please enjoy! 🎉

For the first early access release, I've made the following changes:

- Weaker but more plentiful enemies (extra SHATTERING)
- More timeslow fuel (and more useful slowdown speed)
- Icons appear when you pick up crystals, and crystals are more obvious
- Flamethrower has a sound effect, and uses proper spherical collision detection
- Fixed the random floating reticle in the menu

I'll be adding the names of beta testers to the credits screen as I collect names. Thanks for all your detailed feedback and lovely ideas, and I hope to do you all proud! 😊

Howdy Folks!

Wanted to give you all a heads up; as this is the final week of development on Update 52, focusing on fixing bugs, there are going to be a whole bunch of pushes to the Alpha branch. If you're currently on the Alpha branch, and don't want to be frequently downloading several-gig updates as I do this final iteration, you have two options:

1. Switch back off of beta branches to mainline

2. Set your update option for the game to "only update this game when I launch it" in the Properties -> Updates section of the game.



As mentioned this past weekend, any and all help is useful in bug hunting for this final push for the update. If you run into functionality issues of any kind (lets hold the gun-inaccuracy/game balance stuff til later), please do create a bug report thread here in the BUG REPORTS section of the Steam Community forum.

The build being pushed today is meant to address a couple things, by altering the way that physics is calculated related to frame rate. These are fairly major changes under the hood, but SHOULD only result in user-side change that is somewhere between imperceptible to better.

- Major physics-related perf. spikes/sudden frame-rate implosion should be majorly improved

- Frame drops due to moving a complex gun over quick-belt holstered items while moving should be improved

- That Meatgrinder bug where a billion items would spawn out of a meatpile/box and then crash you SHOULD be fixed now

- The experience in game when having to run in reprojection should be less spiky and more stable (for our very low-hardware-spec users).

In this update, we add traditional teleport locomotion (for those who may not like trackpad or our trackpad / teleport hybrid).

We also added a new difficulty mode called Hardcore. Enemies have less health, but do MUCH more damage. You will have to be very careful not to get hit much in this mode.

Also, we are working on adding 3 new bonus levels at the end of the game. The first new level (which will be released in our next update) will have the player piloting a space ship.

Last week was somewhat quiet — spent some time learning Ren'Py things that I probably should have known the first time around.

Ren'py's new built-in UI is a lot cleaner than the old one. I've started rebuilding the menu screens to fit the new UI. As an example, here's the old music room...



And here's the new one!



I fixed some obvious problems, like how the original music room spoiled the names of songs you hadn't unlocked yet. But, I'm still not much of a designer, so it will take some trial and error.

  • Knight's "Iron Will" ability will now only apply to friendly players in Battle Arenas.
  • Updated the text for the Enter a Medieval Highlands World to reflect that the Atlas is actually a large workstation.
  • The Outpost Adventure to kill 10 enemies of the resistors in Luminopolis should now give credit for all enemies killed inside the sub-biome.
  • Mycenius, the Club Adventure NPC, has grown tired of his sword collection and now desires Shapestone from his beloved home of Medieval Highlands. His Find Swords in Medieval Highlands adventures have been replaced with Mine Shapestone in Medieval Highlands adventures.
  • The Fire VFX in the Darknik Dreadnaught fight should now orient correctly.
  • The Anti-Gravity Gravy Boat and Mobile Miso Bowl can now glide.
  • The tooltips for Gigastormer Beacons now mention how long they'll last before despawning.
  • The Market Daily Bonus will no longer tell non-members they must pay rent to use it.
  • Fixed an incorrect error message that could occur when paying rent for fixtures.
  • [PS4 Only] Improved invites from both in game and out of game. Note that occasionally invites may not teleport you directly to the inviting player.

This will be about 20 hours of main story to experience and explore with Pots and his companions during their adventures in the capital and even the dreaded City of the Dead!
