Thanks to your feedback and more internal testing we were able to iron out many more minor issues:
- Save System: Fixed autosave not working if the load or save menu have not been opened during the current play session. - Save System: Fixed enemy archers having wrong colors after loading. - Save System: Fixed "skip tutorial" activating the two “start townsmen” only once (didn’t work if you loaded an earlier save file and skipped again). - Save System: Fixed a rare issue with unlocking buildings. - Save System: Fixed an issue with tutorial UI hints. - Save System: Fixed the "enemy attacks" option not loading correctly. - Save System: Fixed some issues with rally flags. - Pathfinding: Townsmen now better detect if a target is not reachable. - Combat: Normal townsmen now engage in combat if dropped near an ongoing fight or a building being attacked (previously they only engaged if they were near when the fight started.) - Combat: Archers now change target or position if they don't hit their target. - Combat: Removed unintended hand interactions with enemy archers. - Combat: Catapults and construction sites can now be attacked by enemies. - Balancing: Increased difficulty of later attacks. - Map: Removed some small islands around ship landing zones. - Game Over: Added a Game Over screen that appears when all buildings have been destroyed. - Fixed an error that let you duplicate resources dropping off a catapult if it was struck by lightning while falling. - Fixed resources not being slowed down by water if they hit ground before falling in water. - Fixed enemy attacks not resetting after restarting the game. - Prevented the victory music from playing if the game is restarted during combat. - Fixed an issue with townsmen sometimes still reacting to hand rotation after being dropped.
+ Catapults can now damage enemies on ships.
Have fun and keep us updated if you have problems!

TAD: That Alien Dude's release date has been changed from 4/20/2018 to 5/10/2018 6/14/2018. The private alpha version is still being perfected before official launch on Steam. Please pardon our progress!
Update 0.4 has completed testing and is stable enough for public release on the Default branch. Thank you to all the folks who tested MANY iterations of this update. Saving the sim from a "live" state involves storing a BUNCH of data for each moon, planet, ship, satellite, etc., etc. I'm certain there are some items that may have been missed; or will need to be added as new features continue to be introduced. However, the worst offenders seem to have been dealt with....
There are a few items you should be aware of with this release, so PLEASE be sure to have a look at the first post in the update release thread, located here:
I am proud to announce that all the known bugs in the game are now dealt with. They will surely be replaced with new bugs down the line. Unless any more are reported, this should be the last hotfix before the official Quench Update.
What's New?
- Hero Story Books! Every Hero in Ironwell has their own unique story. Now you can buy Books from the Librarian to help you see all the dialogues and cutscenes in the game. Once complete, each Book should tell a short tale about its Hero, with a few new insights as to what happened behind the scenes. Bare in mind that not all books and Hero stories are complete (Krush, Pierce, Lao Tzu). - Some Dungeons now have a 'Sharp' mode. This should test your Armour making and Hero setup skills. - A bunch of small UI improvements and bug fixes.
For finding or creating Blacksmith content on YouTube, use the tag 'forge your story'. The Store Page has been updated to reflect that change.
See you again for the Quench Update on the 26th of April 2018. After that the updates get really interesting. If there are any problems or suggestions please use the forums and I'll respond quickly.
More optimizations this week! BLuRT just got updated to v1.03 which includes a huge fps boost! If your PC is up to it (mid, high range), you can now play BLuRT in 60 fps or higher. A lot of frame drops have been addressed too, so your experience should be even smoother.
What has been fixed this week:
World is managed better in memory, resulting in a higher frame rate.
Gun construction takes less clock cycles for faster robot spawns.
Lifts and trains had a small tweak for smoother operation.
Floating train rails have been mostly addressed.
Several nasty frame drops on the client side of the game have been fixed.
Several minor redundant code cycles have been removed.
This update paves the way to a 'directors cut.' A lot of fights with bots have been scrapped, because the optimization was not up to it, especially on the final fight. I plan on putting those bots back into the game. I am not promising extra content in assets, but the game might just get a little bit harder in the coming weeks. Do not fret, however. More bots means more money, which also means bigger guns. ;)
